This competition is mainly geared toward all star dance teams, and like other competitions of that sort, divides the dance categories into hip hop, jazz, and pom. This routine is in the jazz category because there is no lyrical category. And by the way, wow @ those turns in second.

I wish the audience wouldn't cheer so much during the performance, I know they're being supportive but save it for the end, it's distracting to the dancers and other audience members.

That being said, this was AMAZING!! They're so in sync! And the choreography is beautiful!!

i've noticed recently there's been sort of a mini backlash against all the super modern/sharper forms of contemporary that's been super popular the past several years, and some studios have been going back to more fluid, "pretty" forms of lyrical. i really like it, especially the way this studio did it so it didn't feel too old school or stuffy.

@snapcracklepop53 Modern jazz dancing is influenced by so many different styles of dancing such as acro and lyrical; it doesn't have to look like it's straight out of Chicago to be a jazz number! This is modern jazz dancing.
