@kennethofoh it isn't tabata period. tabata was used on a bike. it's just a nickname that people are familiar with and an interval that keeps the training session fast paced
Just did this workout, Smoked! I love kettlebells, Simple tough workout, i've been looking at ways to integrate tababas into kbs and simplify my workouts, this does it Thanks
This isn't tabata. You are going way too slow and 20 minutes is not the protocol in the study. Did you read the Tabata study? It's out there. The best kettlebell exercise would be the swings that you briefly do. It's a good routine, but not Tabata.
Youtube is a great place for Tabata info but you really ought to change the name of this to Kettlebell circuit training.
Tabata Workout? Otherwise known as Tabata Protocol? Dude you better read up on that. That doesn't even qualify as a Kettlebell workout.
Tabata Protocol: 5 min warm up at 40% of max heart rate, 20 seconds of full exertion followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated 6 to 8 times, followed by 5 min cool down at 40% of max HR. Initially developed for Japanese speed skaters. Requires an activity that can be performed to max exertion, like sprinting, rowing, cycling, burpees, jump squats, boxing etc.
@eFitseries sure U can. I'm sure if done correctly with the right amount of weight its a challenging workout. However its an interval routine, but it ain't "Tabata". For your information, the point of the "Tabata Protocol" is to increase once anaerobic and aerobic capacity. Jumping on the bandwagon and calling a routine something that it isn't to captures a specific market segment is still dishonest.
@MultiAthlet Who called it a routine? Tabata IS a form of interval training...short powerful bursts of energy, depleting ATP, increasing thresholds, followed by rest. Both anaerobic and aerobic capacity can be trained effectively sure, but doing what he was doing isn't Tabata. Max effort for 20 seconds, 10 seconds rest for 8 rounds. It as if he was counting reps.
@eFitseries What's your point dude? A routine is a course of standardized actions or procedures that are followed regularly and often repetitiously. As for the rest ..... swell we agree, I think. You are partially paraphrasing what I wrote in both my comments. And thanks, I'm fully aware of the Phosphagen System and the Krebs cycle.
@MultiAthlet My point is; "Jumping on the bandwagon and calling a routine something that it isn't to captures a specific market segment is still dishonest." You made it seem as if I unloading a bunch of BS, wasn't paraphrasing you at at all. Glad we're on the same page...haha, Krebs Cycyle, awesome. Lets talk about the Bruce Protocol next=blaaaaah
@eFitseries look dude, I don't even know who you are. I commented on this particular video, pointing out that it is not "Tabata" and you reply to my comment. So I replied back. I call things what they are and don't appreciate marketing schemes that try to ride along on a fad, that's dishonest. It is certainly an interval routine, it may be a great routine, but it ain't "Tabata". Call it "rockbodyfitness" or "eFitseries", I don't care.
I have started doing this workout !! you sweat like mad doing it , but i feel it seems to be getting easier, dont know if i need to go up from a 16kg or what, supberb though thanks for putting it on.
nice video, you're the one that got me into kettle bells :) any tips for reducing stress on the wrists? I seem to hut them from the kettle bell hitting them
yeah you need to fix up your clean. i like to think of the clean as being like a swing but with your upper arms attached to your body so that the kettlebell goes around your wrists and lands gently
i bet the "after" foto was taken before the "before"picture and in the middle yu just ate a lot

What the hell swing did you do ? Why don't you go to top of the head ?

If you have enough energy to do a second round of intervals in the next half part of that day, then it isn't Tabata.

The problem here is that some newbie gonk might try to do 'proper' tabata (this is not it) four times with a one minute rest in between.
Most people would be saved by a total system shutdown halfway through the second tabata, but let's hope they don't have a heart attack too, eh?

This is not tabata training. You must do maximal effort and speed for the 20 second cycle...for 7-8 rounds.
