I wonder why the airbrakes were deployed during takeoff? You can clearly see this from 1:33 to 1:43 . Seems counterproductive; increases drag, but doesn't increase lift like flaps do.
@lonewolfintj those aren't air brakes, those are spoilers. The BUFF uses these instead of ailerons and they are up on the left side because he has a crosswind
Is this the view from the "Park and View" show on monday? I'm from the U.S. and I'm actually thinking of getting a round trip flight to LHR for this year RIAT 09 show for the entire weekend including mondays park and view to watch all aircraft depart and I never knew that the view would be this close!!! That is incredible!!! Awesome video!
It looks like it is from the Park & View area. We were there the day before the RIAT and the Control Caravan was just where it is in the video. Unfortunately, the B-52 did not fly on the Saturday when we were there. I would certainly recommend one day at the Park & View for the arrivals / departures and one day at the show itself. Of course, 2 days of each would be better!!
