@teenprogramming I got my codes from an app on homebrew. but after i get to 2:35 it does some weird code thing instead of loading my game. (please help)
@MrPokemon8889 I haven't messed around with Gecko in a long time, so I partially have forgotten how to install Gecko; try searching on Youtube for a way on how to install it.
@Fredrik2012 Make sure to properly create the .gct files with their file names respective to the games that they're meant for, and also make sure to place the files in the correct folder.
Hey teenprogramming i fixed it, turn out you have to unplug your mic before you start gecko os because it thinks that what its reading causing it to freeze... :D thx though
Wtf? When i launch my game, a blue screen comes up saying- ""Error #002 An error has occurred. Press the eject button, remove the game disc, and turn off power to the console. Please read the wii Operations manual for further instructions,"" Help soon please?
@Frederikdavid I'm guessing that the problem has to do with the improper IOS with the game that you have. Here's a nice explanation from About.com: "The IOS is the part of the operating system that loads games, and different games use different IOSes. In a non-homebrewed Wii, the game will install the proper IOS if it isn't already there, but operating system updates from Nintendo are designed to destroy homebrew, so homebrew users avoid updating." Subsequently, "Pimp My Wii" could help you.
@pray4urlife03 Try downloading the newest Gecko version available. On some occasions, when I was using the older version of Gecko, the screen would turn black, too.
@apostolis633 Just try the different codes found at Gecko OS codes website. If it's not related to the code not working, maybe something else is conflicting with the codes.
@vex10101 You can do it, but you need to use the Gecko OS MOD (WiiPower) which allow Gamecube games to be loaded with cheats. It's hard to describe; try searching online on how to use Gecko with GameCube games.
@metallica82897 Sorry for not responding faster. Try using a newer version of Gecko, as I previously used an older version of Gecko and experienced this same problem.
@CameronKeddy Sorry for not responding faster. Yes, I believe that it works with channels, too. Search online to find out how, as I don't know how to.
@teenprogramming when you go to gecko.org, how do you know which game to pick because they have multiple options for the same game. And do you have to have gecko on the homebrew channel? Gecko OS has it's own channel, can't you just use that channel?
@619Shippo Well, depending on where you live, the options indicate the region that you live in. Therefore, the NTSC version of the game will correspond with the United States, the PAL for Europe, and so on and so forth. To answer your latter questions, I believe that you can designate a channel for it, although I don't know how to do that.
@TeamSpinWii Maybe there are too many codes that you have applying that would overload the game? This problem could be similarly fixed, like I indicated to mattlong575.
@TeamSpinWii Sorry for not responding faster. I assume that you're playing Black Ops with zombie codes? If you are, then don't enable other codes, like multiplayer, as these additional codes will result in the game freezing.
i need help i hacked my wii but gecko os 1.9.3.1 does not show and frezes my wii i think but i put the same sd card on my friends wii and it works can some1 tell me what to so my gecko works
@hackerdude598 Maybe you have too many codes enabled? If it's a one time incident of it not enabling the codes, then it just might be Gecko glitching.
@man3tofaryrocks Sorry for not respongding that fast; I was on vacation. In order to turn off the codes, I believe you either go into "Config Options" or "Rebooter Options", and disable the codes.
@ninjanoogut I know that the Gecko Pause Start allows you to be able to start a Wii game without the code of the game to begin, although I don't know how to use it.
@mattlong575 Maybe there are too many codes that you have applying that would overload the game? Also, try getting a newer version of Gecko, as the previous versions may be known for that problem.
im trying to use the codes but dk how, im at the part where it says sd codes found, applying, but when i play the game theres no differnce, how do i activate the codes?
@basketballplayer014 Here is the link for the newest version: geckodownloads(dot) googlecode(dot)com/files/gecko1931(dot)zip. Replace the (dots) with a period.
@basketballplayer014 Maybe it has to do with the way the files are set up for Gecko. The files have to be in the root of the card, which means they aren't already in any folders. It's hard to explain in words, try looking online about the root of the card, and determine if that is the problem.
@basketballplayer014 u should remove any usbs that u hv conected on ur wii cuz i had a black screen too but then i just removed the usbs i had and now gecko os works try it
@KidAwkwardTV Maybe try and download the files in the link, under the description to my video. It has the files for Gecko, although they may be outdated, but you can easily find the new updated files by searching with Google.
@kserpant869 Sorry about not responding about this sooner. I believe the problem is linked to having your laser in your Wii not properly reading the discs that you insert. You can probably fix this by getting the laser cleaned yourself, and looking online, or replacing it. If this doesn't work, then you can probably search online to see the fix to your problem.
Ok, so I have the homebrew channel, I have the gecko channel, I have the codes, I have the code manager, I did every step, then I exported it it to wherever, I put the files into the gecko folder, I turned on my Wii, went to the gecko channel, loaded the files, then it STILL said "NO CODES FOUND" >_> What am I doing wrong?
@mikanator101 Sorry about not responding about this sooner. You have to make sure to have the codes in a folder, entitled, "Codes." Additionally, place the codes folder in the root of your card, which is where, the folder is not contained in any other folders. Hard to explain in text, you can also look online about the root, if you're still unsure.
@teenprogramming Ok that's fine. :) I'm still kind of unsure (LOL) it's been a while since I've been working on this proccess. So technically, I'll have to watch this whole thing over again. But thanks for responding. Better late then never.
i use gecko os ver. 1.9 and the codes work fine and everything but if i play the game for like 15 min. it freezes and it gives like a weird persistant noise. i think its error 002 im not sure, anyway to fix? thanks :)
@ShChowdhury89, The only thing I can think of that would fix that, would be updating to the most recent Gecko OS Version, which is 1.9.3.1, and can be found at the WiiBrew website.

For example, could I add game01.gtc and game02.gtc in the codes folder?
rafael502 1 month ago
@rafael502 You would have to find the code for the specific game and then consequently name the .gtc file for the respective game.
