  • there is now way anyone could have sex in that bed. hell, you couldn't even masterbate. well, I guess you could but you would be badly bruised!

  • I would have liked to hear her name drop New York City another 15 times

  • @585wells where is she? NYC?

  • where do you eat?

  • Damn... $700 Rent for that!

  • And of course this person is a mac fanatic. The sheer lunacy of these "elitists" with the kindergarten level function "computers" is mind boggling.

  • girl, just move to brooklyn.

  • @aspasticsquirrel She just wants to say she lives in Manhattan, that she is willing to live in a closet.

  • the shit people live in just to be in the big city

  • That's still much cheaper than central London. I have mates in London who spend approx 1300 American dollars, for the same thing. London's damn expensive!!!

  • Nope, no way. I saw the bed and it started making me feel claustrophobic and panicy...no way.

  • As long as people pay outrageous prices for places like this, the more rent will be outrageously overpriced in NYC.

  • Very cool. Nice lifestyle. Carry on in health and happiness.

  • You can get 2 houses here for that rent that are not closets and are nice , what a waste of money. City is no place for me !

  • *insert clip from Willy Wonka about opening your mouth a little wider when you speak here*

  • thats just crazy $700 a month for that. you need to move whare things are cheeper. you can rent a whole house for that whare i live.

  • I like what you've done with your place, and living in such a small area, it seems like your life is in order. I grew up, and still live in NYC so I love this idea. You are like, one of the few people in America that don't live way over your means and enjoy the simple things. I'm not saying that everyone should get a place as small as this in Manhattan, but if everyone had this attitude, or even 1% of it, then we probably would not have a lot of the economic and moral problems we face now.

  • It would be easy to live in such a small space in Manhattan. You're surrounded by everything you need - restaurants (she can't really cook in that apartment), gym, every store you could possibly imagine, and the vibrant energy of one of the greatest cities in the world. As a born and raised Manhattanite, I'm biased, but whatevs :) I would definitely sacrifice space. I wonder what she pays every month.

  • For being a professional organizer, things look kind of scruffy.

  • That bed would really impede your sex life.

  • "...you don't acquire, what you can't afford"

  • thanks for posting, really interesting and she seems happy! i have a similar plan when i move out so this was really cool to watch

  • Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

  • Im feeling claustrophobic just watching it.

  • Claustrophobic much and not conviencing at all.

  • I thought this actually a really cool idea until I thought of the scenario of "Lets go back to your place" then it seemed bad :P

  • how deppressing. I'd go fuckin crazy in that space.

  • LOL...bankers must love you for you living in a prison.

  • the bed space makes sex a little challenging

  • I have been trying to get a place in Manhattan forever. A place like this would work perfect for me.

  • " I am also a professional organizer" what is a professional organizer?

  • @abowl0frice an unemployed writer ;]

  • that's a little TOO small for me, but i love the ideas.

  • I love small living spaces. My room is small and I've managed to make it larger by eliminating a lot of large furniture and unnecessary things. But this is entirely too small for me! I need some kinda room to work with haha!

  • cool

  • Nice. PS. Standing on chairs is dangerous. Please do something about that.

  • @js7un I was clenching over that to! Get a small fold up step ladder, PLEASE!

  • u cant have sex no room ahahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • this is lovely

  • I love it

  • How would you vacuum this thing? Humans produce dead skin cells and hair all the time

  • I'd fucking love to live there, I'd just make the loft a little lower/ get a thinner mattress so you have more headroom.

  • You all are funny. I mean the comments. I have a small Apartment like that.I want the lady who renting the Apartment to come and organize it for me. She say she is a organizer.

  • what about the spiders crawling upside down on the ceiling over your bed...Im 6 ft 2 and 280lbs...I couldnt sit side ways to crap in that bathroom...but like u said..uve got the Met and lincoln center and central park...

  • Btw.. one of the best locations in the world, 700 bugs is cheap dude..

  • @Flygby shure living in a shit whole fuckg retarded, if ur american

  • Have sex in this kind of bed? Challenge acceptet!

  • That's big bathroom?! LOLOLOlol

  • @AnimusPipboy

    It actually is.

  • My closets bigger than that lolllllll!!!!

  • Honestly, who could live like this?

Good thing I live in Crown Heights.

  • This is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the boxes they live in the far east are even smaller

  • @LeClassics If you refer to China you are right.

  • I love that this let you save up to buy a 550 square foot, one bedroom apartment at 70th and West End! Now THAT's financial management!!!

  • She made great use of the 90 sq ft. I'd love a nook like that one.

  • She was evicted from this apartment!

  • im in love with that apartment honestly id pay 1200 no joke. the coziness . functionality not so much but ahh so cozy. I love it

  • now the landlord wants her to pay $1,200 a month so i guess she might as well just go uptown to the Heights or somewhere and have a bigger place its not the Westside but still Manhattan since thats where she wants to live

  • @aeronauticalexplorer You're misinformed. When I first moved to NYC, I had a room for $400/month at the Broadway Breslin on 28th and Broadway. It's no longer a residential building now.

  • i would hit my head every fucking morning

  • you yanks are fucking stupid,,,, there is a big wide world out there ,, and all your daddys are holocaust survivers how long do you think you can use that bullshit....

  • I've lived in 200 sq ft. Loved it. I would live in her apt. The Japanese live in tiny houses and apts.

Bars in Texas can't stay open after 2am because of the strange liquor laws. Sad.

  • @ginger4bailey I agree with you. Some clubs still stay open till 4am & when I use to go to (o)(o) bars they were open even longer. I don't do that Zombie life style no more I'm happy in my studio apt only 500sq ft with a Murphy bed I added my on therapeutic mattress & I only pay $400 a month. Apartment prices will vary from date you move in. I got moved in for $392 a month but then some will pay $420 for a small studio even seen some for $600. All the same we are making the landlord rich.

  • @ginger4bailey pleas tell me what anything in this video has to do with texas bars

  • I guess if you're happy, but in Dallas, TX, $150,000 will but you a 2000 square foot HOUSE!

  • @1969zl1vette I live in Dallas and I was just thinking the same thing.

  • @WhatEverHD Yes but everyone in Dallas dresses the same and nobody goes to museums or shows and everyone goes to church on sunday and you nothing stays open after 2am

  • @TheNYCutube Nope not entirely true. We dress different all the time & people like me do go to museums even though I'm from the hood. In fact I use to go more often when I still lived in the hood because it was so close to my college and in downtown. Now that I live in the more yuppie part of town I don't do it as much. I go to shows but sorry I don't go to church all the time. The Lizard Lounge club Dallas is open till 4am called "Church" & I work the graveyard shift so that's open too. 24/7

  • @WhatEverHD When I said shows I meant theater not gigs. Yes, I went to Lizard Lounge if your into rave music than go their. But if you want real nightlife you come to NYC. Oh come on about 80% of Dallas goes to church on Sunday. The only 20% are the people who attempt to make the place look more cosmopolitan. And lets not forget our wonderful ex president lives in town as well.Three museums cant compete with 100 museums sorry. And Chelsea vs Dallas Gallery District??? Come On

  • @TheNYCutube Well 9/11 was an inside job.

  • I lived in NYC for 8 years. I was in Brooklyn. I had a 732 sq ft apartment for $750 a month. One bedroom & one bathroom. The building was old but it was in a nice nieghborhood. I had a kitchen and the bedroom was separate. Other than the landlord being a bit creepy at times, I was happy where I lived. I would advise anyone to check out Brooklyn neighborhoods first. Trains will take you to Manhattan & back. :)

  • And to think my cousin was making fun of me for having a 475 sq ft apartment, wait till I send her this! haha

  • at 00:32 why is there a guy hiding behind the wall hehe and i love your place even when i live in a 2 story house very organized

  • Not to mention i live in 180sft

  • Are you kidding me im living in a quiet temperature controlled room with a bathtub bathroom and a shared full kitchen in upper west manhattan and im only paying 100 a week! Including wifi cable and water like seriously wtf?!

  • @williamarthurweeks You can't get a room anywhere for 100 a week never mind Manhattan. You are full of shit or you are blowing the landlord.

  • @williamarthurweeks Really? I want to move to New York (Brooklyn or Manhattan), and I've seen Craig's list and everything is at least $500, on average $1500. I haven't heard of $100 apartments in New York City, let alone Upper West Side. Is it actually $100, or did you miss a 0 or something? lol

  • It's called the suburbs, fucking stupid idiots! You could get an apartment for 550 a month that's 10 times the size of that little piece of shit. Don't get scammed by these guys making a fortune of morons like this woman!!!

  • @PatrioticPoison Its called not paying $100 a week for gas,Kids hanging out at a mall,Soccer Moms,Nothing but chain after chain, and loud mouthed people like you. Sorry I will take my Brooklyn apt over NJ suburbs any day

  • love it

  • I could handle a space like this in the summer months but in the winter -- tend to stay in my apartment more -- this space would be entirely too small.

  • You fart in a place that small and you can probably smell it 3 months later.

  • @Litawyn No... about 3 weeks. Not 3 months. You are exaggerating.

  • I think is quite messy and it needs to be streamlined a lot more.

  • Its cool if you can utilize every inch of the place. You also don't have to share a bathroom like you do if you rent a room from someone.

  • My daughter loves this video. She thought her apt. was small till she saw this. I wonder how she dusts?

  • Is this supposed to be funny? Raise your standards

  • Comment removed

  • Love that little long painting.

  • Do not envy this life style... No kitchen? NYC is not worth this...

  • @booggerg That depends on if you work there and how much the persons desire to be there is.

  • wow i love it i wanna live there :-)

  • I imagine she goes to work in an overly small clown car packed with clowns. Just imagine this lady in the hospital emergency room twice a week from bumping into her brick wall in the middle of the night after trying to go pee. This is pathetic. I rent a room in New York City in Queens for 535 a week. It is twice as big as this closet she lives in. In Queens it's much cleaner and quieter. You can bet that her apartment used to be the janitor room in the old days where they kept the mops.

  • by bedroom is bigger than her apartment

  • How does she have sex???!!! :D

  • Good compartmentalization of small spaces! I used to live in a space just like that with a loft bed just like that in Hell's Kitchen 10-years ago when I started out in NYC. Summers were the worst because the heat would rise to the ceiling and the ac wasn't really effective. So were the climbs up and down. I fell from the top and ended up breaking alot of bones.

  • Ah nice. Could do with another another foot or so above the bed but great use of space.

  • Omg, I ADORE it! It's so cozy and perfect, in an awesome location. A lot of people criticize that the rent is overpriced, but think about it--in relation to other rents, I'd say it's just about right. Almost any apartment is probably more than it seems as though it should be. :P There is absolutely no reason not to love the really tiny ones; they're awesome and smart.

  • How does one find a mini-apartment in New York?!

  • this is the opposite of simple living! in what twisted world is paying way too much to live in a cubby hole in one of the poshest neighborhoods in the world considered economical?? move to brooklyn and stretch your legs.

  • 0:30 Who the hell is that!

  • I guess when u want to have sex u go to other guy's apartment =)

  • I LOVE this space...only difference I would do to the apartment is have a single portable electric above the mini fridge and a overhead oven..have to cook:X buy fresh materials and cook every 2 days...

  • no washing machine ?

  • @stevencheng1988 in NYC u take ur laundry to the Cleaners.

  • This appartement isn't big enough to house a dog, let alone a person, and you pay 700$ for that? This isn't smart thinking, it's stupidity culminating. If you can't afford the prices, do NOT live in NYC :/

  • You give 700 bucks for this?? u crazy?? oh my god.. screw manhattan!!

  • How do you cook?? What do you eat?? You eat bananas everyday???!!

  • i would die of depression right away

  • I dun understand why u need so much space for the white color boxes, u can move your bed there. It would be more comfortable.

  • hotbox?

  • Love the apartment! Chicago needs these so I can move the fuck out my boyfriends apartment. But Id use the bed area as storage and sleep on a couch in the "living room" Id have more space than you since I dont have a computer or all that. Your very smart, theres no reason to pay 1,000 a month for a "nice" apartment, well thats how much they are here in Chicago. 2 bedroom is 1,000 + a month. thats what we're paying -_-

  • Where do you bang in that apartment!?

  • shes young, beautiful and probably sexual active :) ..no doggystyle or cowgirl possible, just missionary, arent you bothered with that ?

  • @04bamn put the blankets and mattress on the floor, move some of the stuff on the floor up on top of the bed for extra space if ya need it. Or since it's a block from central park, you can always have a... picnic if ya know what I mean :D

  • @04bamn You can just about spoon in that bed on the top! I think it might just be slightly enough room. No good for fat people though! That space is crazy small!

  • @04bamn The floor? Or his (her?) place...?

  • damn i can't sleep with the ceiling so close to my face...feels like ill die and won't wake up the next morning...that or ill just keep hitting my face to death!

  • Excellent use of space!

  • i'm glad i don;t live in NY

  • @MooseheadDrinker you're glad you don't live in that apartment is what you mean.

  • When I was little, Dad went out to work and Mom stayed home. Then the moms started getting jobs and voila! they could afford better housing. But the landlords figured out that they had more money and the rents went up so they were right back where they were, only now Mom HAS to work all day at a job.

Now people are willing to live in a closet, what do you suppose will be the result?

  • I'm thinking about moving into a studio apartment because i want to live near the beaches.. I will only live there for a year i just love the beach culture and the diversity of people Sydney beaches attract... I've always wanted to live by myself... And it's affordable! I get sick of people easily (introverted) so this would be the perfect option for me..

  • I would love to live there! I pay the same rent for a room not much bigger than that in Austin, TX.

  • You could gain 2 cubic feet by replacing that TV with an LCD

  • 0:32 we just saw the most rarest creature

  • I am American and lived nearly 20 years in NYC. I moved to Europe to get healthcare. I am disabled and will be 55 next year. Any sleeping place where I cannot easily walk to a toilet is ... well, it's not the end of the world, but likely will be, soon. My husband's parents live in Brittany and are in bad health and are totally unable to keep up the place. I think several dwellings in a lifetime are what has to be thought out. Small is good!

  • This is ludicrous. Starving artist life is depressing.

  • Impressive use of such small space. : )

  • wow I couldnt live like that! Im used to mcmasions in Australia! haha

  • recognize someone is peeking at 0:31?

  • When it comes to my own shelter a few desires come to mind. I don't need much, just a laptop a place to store a few of my belongings that I need for day to day life (clothes, food, and the such) and a bike. Ideally I would like a place to cook, go to the restroom, and sleep.

The problem is, that is just me. We then have my wife, who likewise has her own list.. which grows upon my own, then we have two children that need their own space. Sure 800 sqft is easy for one person -cont

  • @jathgnos but who am I to deny the desires of others in my family. I am a minimalist, but I can not deny the rest of my family their own minimalist desires.. those desires add up and soon 1500 sqft is just enough to keep us all happy.

The only way I could see a family of four living in a small place, is if they all had similar interests that could be shared between them. I do wish at times, I could just live in my own little 600sqft spot at times though. It is enough for me.

  • But its 700$... Definitely move to Canada :)... its nice wht u have done with it tho

  • This is terrible that people have to live like this! Please Youtube Zeitgeist: Moving Forward and open your eyes to the reason, you have to work much harder than your ancestors while affording less. Know yoru history and forces the dictate your life. Watch on Youtube ZEITGEIST: MOVING FORWARD. and Change your life forever!

  • 700 bucks a month for that space is a great deal for the neighborhood. it'd be hard to find a place that cheap nowadays

  • I think its actually really clever and cool. Could be an interesting experience to live in a place like that.

  • Really space efficient. How awesome!

  • 700 dollars for that fuck that! I live in a 3 bedroom house for $350 a month

  • interesting video but i wouldn't live in the city if you gave me a apartment, very small apartments, dirty city and a police state grid is not for me !

  • Comment removed

  • @GouledXD ,whatever floats your boat,i was just commenting to your past comment! For me, if you paid me and gave me a free apartment i would not live in NY !

  • This is not what New York City living is like AT ALL.

  • sex would be hard

  • @jlalonde1000 Do it on the carpet

  • Seriously if all u want to do is say "I live in the upper W Side" what's the point if u have to live in a shoebox? Do u invite your upper W Side friends over here? Didn't think so. I'm all for living dreams & experiencing life, but u can still save & live in a studio or 1bdrm in the Bronx or Brooklyn for what you're paying to live here. Don't know how much she makes, but if she can have more for cheaper she's actually wasting $ not saving it.

  • The point is the experience of living IN the Upper West Side and walking outside your door and there's ethnic restaurants, Juliard, Central Park, college campuses....it's the atmosphere and for $700/month you can be in it....it's definitely not insane to me..it's clever and it's cute

  • I love her, you're never too old to live the life you dream... it's special to be able to thrive in that kind of backyard by downsizing this way.... she is also very eco-friendly living this way....she is saving resources

  • I love my city NYC....but this woman is an ASS!!! all because she wanted to live on the boring ass upper westside when she couldve got more space for her money in brooklyn or uptown...shes too old to be living like a freshman in college dorms

  • @GouledXD ,well living in a crowded city away from nature can cause mental illness..

  • WOW! Microscopic & small but ur bed loft/nook space (outside the fact that whoever make it built it TOO DAMN HIGH as others said) looks SO DAMN COZY!!!!

I'm def. feel encouraged & more "able" to go transform my small NY apt. which is WAY BIGGER than urs. lt;s funny. u can DEFINITELY tell ALL of the folks who r NOT from a super big city like DC, NYC, Tokyo (as l see over here in the cue).

Yea it's small but she can afford it, make it work, & SHE (like many others including me) LOVE NYC!!!

  • it seems idiotic, honestly. She could pay less than that in rent, and live 30 minutes north of Manhattan in an actual apartment. I have no sympathy for people who choose to live like this when they could actually live in something habitable, just because she wants to live in the UWS. NYC and its surrounding areas have outstanding public transportation, so there's no excuse for this lameness

  • I wanna lick her cute feet.

  • This is incredibly impressive.

  • wow i am not trying to be an asshole, but frankly, this is so awful, it's too small to do anything

but i know nowadays living in the US is so hard, but still, that is too small!

  • because the rent is too damn high!
