it's still on alcohol, just 10%, 10% alcohol, 90% nitro, they were never allowed 100% nitro

The absolute worst does of nitro I've ever gotten was this very car at the World Series @ Cordova around 1999(?) when they still were allowed to run 100%. I've been going to drag races for 38 years and never got hit with such a big dose. The air around the car and transporter was nothing but yellow nitro fumes!

I got hit by a huge nitro cloud filming this. The cloud could not be avoided, and it burned my eyes pretty bad. Some of the crew members in the video had on full face masks for protection,(something I had not seen in any other pit that day, and should have clued me in). Glad I dont smoke.

I would have to agree. The % of nitro seems a lot lower today than it did back then. I don't bring earplugs to the events anymore.

I love those things. I love how they start them on alcohol and they run nice and smooth, then they turn on the Nitro and they transform into absolute beasts!
