  • Great job, this is wonderful! Sugoi!

  • 北部の人には南部の言葉は非常に聞き取りにくいです。むしろ与論島の言葉のほうが判りやすいかも。

  • ん?奄美や石垣語でのプレゼンテーションもあったのですか?

    そちらも見たいです!

  • Okinawan is an endangered language.....I think the thing he should busy himself with is how to make people want to learn Okinawan....like trying to make the Prefecture Government teach Okinawan in schools and other methods......

  • Good to see Byron again, Please post more Byron! Also perhaps Byron Should arrange a presentation in the USA soon.

  • I need to get in touch with this man!!!!

  • I have tried contacting Byron Fija for four times.....I wanted to ask for clarifications on some grammatical structures in Okinawan as I am studying Okinawan.....He just asks you a few personal questions and then doesn't answer your questions anyway.....How arrogant this guy is........

  • Really? For being an Okinawan descendant, I always wanted to deepen even more my studies on Okinawan language.

Sometimes it is difficult to study on my own. So, since I'm living in Okinawa, it would be a good chance for me to improve my uchinaaguchi.

  • @AkiraUema Are you Okinawan-Brasileiro??

  • @kindersurprise8

Yes. How about you? Are you brasileiro as well? haha.

  • @AkiraUema that is very cool.Nao,Eu Japones but I'm interested in those people. Have you learned Okinawan from your family? can you speak it?

  • Byron is not teaching here but he's giving a presentation. Furthermore, Okinawan is endangered because there are no domains in which the language is used. Byron is thus bringing back the language to the domain of public lecture here. Byron also sets forth a model of good language use. He contributes thus to what linguists call 'verbal hygiene' here.

  • I think the method he uses to popularize Okinawan is wrong. I mean who on earth would appreciate you when they dont speak Okinawan and you keep on speaking Okinawan to them? You should use Japanese or English to teach Okinawan
