@deshawn18 Thanks for your advice, though of course that's what anyone would say, myself including. I have a hard time leaving him, but I know that's what I have to do. Because I'm scared he'll do it again in the future, even though he says he won't. He told me it hurt to much to see his hand on my face and he was shocked by seeing what he did. An abuser often times will tell a woman he is abusive because "he loves her". This can have really severe psychological implications and can result in her confusing love and abuse for the rest of her life. Abusive women find themselves back in abusive relationships so frequently bc they are unable to feel love (or feel loved) without abuse.

Domestic violence is about maintaining control over their partner through fear. Although women can certainly be emotionally and even physically abusive, men are more likely to be abusers due to their physical power over a woman. @deshawn18 Thanks for your advice, though of course that's what anyone would say, myself including. I have a hard time leaving him, but I know that's what I have to do. Because I'm scared he'll do it again in the future, even though he says he won't. He told me it hurt to much to see his hand on my face and he was shocked by seeing what he did. I'm really mad he threw all of us away by doing this, but I know there's a reason for everything. It's probably for the better, even if it hurts to leave

to be a victim of the abuse is different than being the person watching or hearing about it. abuse is difficult to deal with and I wasn't there to know what he was doing to her...how it felt...or what she was thinking...because those are things only SHE would know. if a female were to get beat up on the street by a random man...and she stabbed him...it would be self-defense....wouldn't it? @mayakalinda well hers was a different situation from her own account. she was with her husband and he supposedly was abusive to her and she stayed and put up with it. finally he went too far and she stabbed him. imo she is just as wrong as he is. she stayed even tho he was abusive so u are used to getting abused then u stab this man and i am supposed to say it is ok because he was supposedly doing it 2 u but he didnt stab u. he didnt shoot u.

Some people will allow themselves to stay with someone in a abusive relation, they are themselves not stable, perhaps they grew up with a feeling of no self worth, abuse as a child, etc, there are many reasons. Anyway, sometimes they can take everything and that one thing, can be the ultimate time they allow abuse before they snap! Others, just let the abuser kill them.

However, in response to your original comment; a person, woman especially who has been abused, or has watched her mother endure an abusive relationship, sometimes views their abuse as normal, and sometimes they can snap. This is a pretty hypocritical song by someone who stabbed her husband and faced 10 to 20 years in prison. I'm sure one of you geniuses will give an excuse as to why she did it. Despite that, her career has been nonexistent as a result of her stupidity. Personally, I think a woman's mouth and brain work independently which is how they find themselves in the bad situations they find themselves in. It's a theory I'm working on. An abuser often times will tell a woman he is abusive because "he loves her". This can have really severe psychological implications and can result in her confusing love and abuse for the rest of her life. Abusive women find themselves back in abusive relationships so frequently bc they are unable to feel love (or feel loved) without abuse.

@deshawn18 I agree that no one should ever use violence against another human being. However, there is a big difference between domestic violence and "hitting". Domestic violence is about maintaining control over their partner through fear. Although women can certainly be emotionally and even physically abusive, men are more likely to be abusers due to their physical power over a woman. Being "slapped" may hurt a man, but often times it does not cause a man to fear for his physical safety.
