  • This is one of my favorite songs and this particular video makes it even better. To get the full effect, put on your headphones, go to a full screen, turn out the lights, and have a nice trip!

  • i love both versions

  • Everything is better then the Beatles version

  • @Jackolantern979 not cool...

  • thats what I see every time I close my eyes

  • who else feels like flying?

  • This song sings to my childhood. We only had Elton John's CD.. and my parents played it an awful lot. Good times..

  • @marioNintendoh. U should create one of these homages using the Beatles song Strawberry Fields Forever, man? :)

  • Damn! I gotta go smoke some herb ta this song while watching ur video dude 2 see how wonderful it feels. Awesome video bruh! THANKS 4 ur creativity!! :)

  • best song about drugs no one can do better

  • WAY BETTER THAN BEATLES!!! NO OFFENSE BEATLES FANS

  • I always get goosebumps when I hear this song.

  • I like this song either way, but i prefer this version..

  • @Moron1689 the name fits the description, you should know a good song when you see one AND HE HELPED MAKE THE BEETLE VERSION. you ass

  • @adem1000000 i think it's 'Beatle'

  • In Fact is was not so insane, in fact Sameone Saved My Life in 1975 was a copy of your's in 1974! So just a year...Elton was here at his best in middle 70*ies (do not mention 1976 what a Disco Period

  • hmmm - -don't know quite what to make of this.

  • this is the best kaleidoscope to music that i've ever seen. nice job.

  • Nicely done Felix. An awesome visual experience and great audio quality. Thank You for posting this! :)

  • I'm a HUGE Beatles fan, but this version blows the Beatles one away.

  • Wooooooah....Talk about Deep..this alone is a very good take on the song, makes you stop, if only for a moment and think about it. I like both versions, but i prefer Elton's compared to the Beatles mainly because its to much High squeaking then i would care to hear.

  • Interesting and GOOD.

Definetly more laid back ,relaxing and richer in texture..............

  • @Moron1689 your youtube name suits you

  • Thanks for this...I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed Elton Johns version of this song.

    The visuals are fantastic too.

  • It is not a "silly homenage" and worse to say it's "nothing special"... Completely opposite

  • I remember when we used to drive by my elementary school at night to this song when I was six, thinking that there were vampires inside. Has a haunting quality to it

  • im playing 2 at once

  • @obladiletitbe998 how is it?

  • @halloweenfan92 its AWESOME you should try it

  • amazing!

  • Wow, drugs do a lot to your body...i think it's so funny...myself, i never have done drugs never will..hahaha wow..70's was all about drugs and crazy stuff. love it..i guess. ahaha. peace man. xD

  • this si very good cover but i prefer original beatles version :P

  • this si very good cover but i prefer original beatles version :P

  • Takes me back to 1st grade 74-75 school year, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Man, those were the days, Rock and Sock Em Robots and Tyco racing sets

  • this makes me so sad because elton was my dads favorite signger and my name is lucy :D:

  • my mom told me about this lol they are so incredibly high

  • Great song, sadly this song isn't as well known compared to his classic hits of that era and I even prefer this version over the Beatles (sorry Beatles fans)

  • Kerry King likes Elton John

  • i think this cover is one of the best i has seen...i am considering doing my own cover of all my loving..please watch

  • Great vid! Mesmerizing, and one of my fave songs too. I agree with what you said about enjoying the psychedelicness of this vid instead of playing with dangerous chemicals. I've never done any drugs, but have heard people rave about their LSD experiences. I once read in a book about The Vedas, that the trip they get with that is a glimpse of what's possible in the spiritual realm-like looking through the window of a beautiful house, but not going inside.

  • I love this version and the Beatles!

  • Thankyou one of elton's best!

  • i love this freaking video so much i think its super duperly awesome!... today is christmas, y ay!!!! a few hours of sleep, then coffee then its time for presents1!!

  • @yputoob Haha, hope it went all fine :P Have a nice year!

  • I enjoy this song. Thank You for

    posting the video.

  • @paul607 You're oh so welcome!

  • Yes, Elton's version is better...it is the only Beatles song that I would say that about. Usually its the Beatles version of any song that is heads and tails better but Elton and John did a remarkable version of this. Lennon's superb reggae guitar is simply amazing.

  • Elton John sings far better than John Lennon. Not to mention that he has far more musical talent.

  • The Beatles version was good - Elton John's version is out there in the stratosphere!

  • Wow!...takes me back...thank you...great memories.

    Love the vid.

  • Har, har, thanks :P

  • This is better than the beatles version.

  • @Schooltime1973 Being a hardcore beatles fan i have to disagree

  • @Schooltime1973 But never more innovative.

  • One of my favorite songs. I like the bells you hear in the first verse get distorted in later verses. you still hear the bell but gets taken over by a buzzing sound. In the last verse you don't hear the bell at all, you hear just the buzzing sound.

  • Oh come man, its obvious the beatles were awesome, but John is a recognized musical genius. This version is quite emblematic of prodigenous talent, however, I don't think John could ever had came up with such music and lyricsby himself. Thats something very unique to beatles and no less amazing!

  • John Lennon himself said that he preferred this version over the Beatle version. It was more like what he intended the original to sound like. It is still the only cover of a Beatle song to go to #1 on the Billboard chart, Lennon had a big part in making that happen singing backup and playing reggae guitar.

  • ok thindude this is not better than the beatles....this is a great version. not better, though. elton has earned a right to cover the beatles. but doing it better than the beatles? no sir. nobody does it better than the real deal..the beatles

  • i like this!!!:)very nice

  • This version is so much better than the Beatles' version.

  • he does an amazing job on this song

  • im seeing elton and billy tomorrow in philly, it would be amazing if they played their beatles covers.

  • WHAT? Lucky you!

  • youre silly homage is amazing.

  • hehe... well.... ^^ thanks!

  • @MarioNintendoh

i dont know if yo do psychedelics or not, but i had one really good acid trip, and the visuals from 1:23-1:33 are exactly what i was seeing much of the time, i thought it was astounding, almost as if you were able to take a screen shot of what i was seeing.

  • @desensitized12 I try to do the least drugs I can. You should do the same, by watching this vid to get high instead of ruining your body and your life, mate. ;P

  • @MarioNintendoh how 'bout you stop acting like people's daddies?

  • @Droony11 Err, ok! Overdose yourself, then, yay! Have fun in the process

  • all right then, i will.

  • Dickhead, dont tell what to do. Especially if you dont have an idea of what the drug does to you. Let people decide for themselves.

  • @jimmyhooha Your strong arguments proved me I was wrong about drugs. I'll just withdraw my argument and wish you all a good night.

  • Comment removed

  • @jimmyhooha lsd is some crazy shit....one thing i'll never do again

  • I like the colors that are going around this is a beautiful display

  • Install iTunes and you can see them too

  • Exactly! Go in View--->Visualizer---> Select Jelly!

That's going to be our little secret! ;-)

  • very good...god!!! Muito psy gostei!!!!

  • What I am going to do is put this on full screen on my 52 inch TV. Then I'm going into my bag of pot and select "Big Bud". Thanx for posting!!

  • Heh, no problem! Be careful with the drugs, though... ;-P

  • Sitting back while drinking a bottle of jack & watching this awesome view & good tunes !!! Now thats living : )

  • Living isn't expensive!

  • Comment removed

  • The bottle of jack didn't cost me anything. It was giving to me lol.

  • Oh, lol!

Well, living is free then, my friend. ;-)

  • Lol, thanks. Cheers !!!

  • much better than the beatles version.

  • I hadn't heard this whole song from Elton John, and I didn't think it would top Beatles. It just did.

  • It's just THAT good, ain't it? :P

  • Really nice job! Thanks! The girl with Kaleidescope Eyes is certainly impressed too.

  • Who's that, may I ask? :O

  • better than the beatles version. kool!!!

  • Thank you very much!

  • awesome song....beautiful light show...thank you

  • Pleasure! ;)

  • I love this song :p I really like the Beatles but Elton John's cover is just so much better

  • Hands down I think this is the greatest song ever. This version in particular is simply mind blasting!!

  • Did you know that the man doing the back-vocals in the song is John Lennon, the man himself? I think that it helps making this version even more mythic!

  • How did you create these stunning visual effects? They are awesome!

  • Hehe, thank you! A great magician never quite reveals his secrets, though! ;)

  • Probably the best cover ever done.......

  • Comment removed

  • I really like the visual effects that go very nicely with this song. Sir Elton's cover is far superior to the Beatles' original. That says a lot for Sir Elton considering how highly I regard the Beatles.

Now, please pass me another tab.

  • Thanks for the compliment, adam4president! I'm used to people sending me death threats for my comments (don't know why; I'm a peaceful easy-going person who doesn't say mean things) so it was nice for somebody to say something nice to me!

  • I love this song,

and i honestly think he sings it better than the beatles, and i love the beatles! :P

  • agreed

  • Me too , not many artists could cover The Beatles and do a better version but Sir Elton certainly has with this

  • Not a lot of people love the Beatles like I do, and yet, I still agree with you, kind of like pretty much everybody here! XD

  • exellent choice for "all this and now world war two" battle of midway scene.and exellent song

  • In 1975 when I was 15 my friends and I used to sit in an old London double decker bus somebody's Dad had brought from England, and we had our first drug experiences. This song was always on our portable radio and I remember as we listened to it, totally stoned, we really believed that the bus could magically take us to England! Darn it, it never did; we'd get off the bus and there was grubby old Illinois. But listening to this song we really believed the miracle could happen, lol!

  • you win my fav. youtube comment award.

  • That's a pretty funny story you're telling us right there, man! :P

  • hiya

I haven't commented for months but just letting you know i'm still a regular listener and i still say not many (if any) artists can cover any Lennon/MCcartney song successfully but Elton certainly has with his version of this - brillant

    Peace & again thankyou x

    Paul

  • The year was "1975." Many of the world's most talented musicians were in their primes. "Manilow," "Carmen," and "Steward," to name a few. But by the time the Caribou sessions ended in Boulder, Elton John had already solidified himself as rock and roll's greatest musician of all time. "It was finished," but Elton wasn't finished. He still had another 35 years of legendary recordings to come. John Lennon knew how great he was. Lennon said Elton was the next best thing he's seen since the Beatles.

  • It's been a little over 30 years since this fateful song landed #1 on the billboard charts. Most of us will never forget that time, or the music of Elton John.

  • Amen.

  • i love you!

dude its been long time since we talk how are u?

  • Too long, I guess?

  • your forgot about me lol

  • Sorry, I did.. :P I feel like an idiot. I just can't seem to remind when we first talked?

    ... well?

  • this was like two years ago

  • Oh, no wonder then... I tend to forget the names of people around me when it's been months, so think about a person over 2 years :P Well then, what's up? How have you been? (Let's continue through PMs)

  • sorry my friend, but that is a wind insturment with a reed.

  • I think this is my all time favorite songsince i was small. I can always appriciate Eltons music..although, i wish he wasnt such a big queen..it truely ruined a part of his stigma.

  • lol, yep he kind of has a strange personality, but his music stays the same. Phew :)

  • i LOVE this song! did u mke this video? its awesome!

  • The bells are too cool.

  • I like how they follow the actual sound of the song!

  • They follow the song because they are tuned. Further listening: Tubular Bells, Mike Oldfield.

  • No duh. :P Of course, they are!

  • Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds ( all the capital letters)you do the maths ?? brilliant

  • LSD... :P

  • i believe the insturment played at 2:44 was a flute, if not it was a synthethizer. none the less, it helps create a top notch rendition of this classic.

  • Oh, you're right, now I do hear it... The song just got even better for me! XD I think it's a... remixed flute? :P

  • That sounds nothing like a flute. More like an electric guitar.

  • I always thought it was some kind of synthesizer for some reason.

  • wow, i've never listened to this version before, but now i have, i deffo prefer it

    Love this song lots :)

  • :) Glad to hear!

  • the flute transforms this version.

  • Hmm, I never heard the flute... Can you tell me at what part there is flute?

  • Proof that - 'Class doesn't age'

  • true (y)

  • A song for all the Bohemian's amongst us, Elton has 'nailed it' And i'm a big Beatles fan but credit where it's due he nailed this one and that's against Lennon/MCcartney .Not many can say that ?

  • I think the beatles-version is the better one.

but really good video fpr this song. ;)

  • It really depends on the person listening to it. Each song has a unique twist but in the end...

    BOTH ROCK! =P

  • Almost Forgot to say brill video -Perfect

  • Wow, thanks a lot!! =3

  • You have to be in that special zone to appreciate this song . It's Iconic Brilliance and this version by Elton's just beyond A +++ 5 STARS

  • =D

    spread the world!

  • I Do and will continue to do ....Peace x

  • I like this version and the Beatles' equally. IMO they are different enough to appreciate both.

  • i think you're right. And people have to remember John Lennon himself made the backvocals for this song!! :P

  • Thanks for this video. Love this song.

Seen him in concert lots of times a great

    singer.

  • Really? You're lucky, i only got to see vids of him :(

  • I like this version better than the Beatles version. Thanks for the upload! And I love the video effects!

  • Big thanks to you, mate! :)

  • what's the matter?

  • good vid btw

  • just because elton john is gay doesnt mean he isnt a genuis

  • I agree! =)
