  • I am a total stranger with no more information than this video to go on and no experience with autism whatsoever. However, what i advise you, who has tons more information and have spent hours on end figuring out what the best thing to do is, to do is to x and y, because -clearly- that is the obvious answer to all your problems. Also, the video is an illusion, because -clearly- I cannot trust this source of information, and therefore you too should not.

    Sincerely,

    Anonymous Youtube Commenter.

  • Vaccinations...

  • unless you have an autistic kid, you wouldn't know what it is. i dont, but my childhood friend did. i say did, because he died in a horrific fire. RIP Rudy.. but she did everything she could for him. he was smart. knew how to spell big words, and read at an early age. he was just in his own little world. ignorant ppl would say THEY could "fix" he. "all he needs is this and that" but they ended up biting their tongues. IF YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT IT, "LEARN" IT

  • I think its so gunny how you're like "I LOVE YOU!!!!" And she's just like ignoring you walking away... Haha sorry I found that funny. Lovely daughter though, She looks like a doll.

  • When did flapping become a symptom? every baby and toddler I know flap!

  • ohhh nooooez! commenter missed the "L" key when they OBVIOUSLY meant "flapping"... let us nao bludgeon them, it is us vs. world Jade!

  • WTF? ...I did the same... how is this Autism... see... this is why every child psychologist should be arrested...

  • @marktsheppard You must have gained all of your insightful knowledge on autism from the film "Rain Man". Constant and hand flapping are obvious signs of autism. But I'm sorry, you must be much smarter than thousands of specialists...

Why are you even watching this movie?

  • My brother is autistic he cant talk he likes to clap and play care game re arrange are house lol it gets annoying but i love him (=

  • @aware4autism...thanks so much for sharing this. Our now 7 year old son was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago now. He also used to teeth-grind and hand flap (along with other things) as stimming (self-stimulatory behaviours). I wish I had seen something like this (and the other vids you've posted) because it would have helped us at that time so much more. Anyway, thanks for sharing it and hopefully it will help others :)

  • I was diagnosed as autistic myself (Asperger's syndrome), but I tend to doubt that I actually am. :| It's probably the most awkward predicament I've ever had to live through.

  • PICKING ON THIS MOTHER IS NOT ONLY RUDE BUT SHOWS THE INTELL OF ALL OF YOU.

1ST. THERE ARE MANY WARNING SIGNS ABOUT AUTISM

    (FROM SLIGHT TO SERIOUS)

2ND. THIS MOTHER WAS CLEARLY TRYING TO GET HER CHILD TALKING AS WELL AS EXPRESS HERSELF.

(WHAT SOME DONT RELIZE WITH AUTISM IS THAT THE CHILD WILL ZONE OUT SPACE FLAP ARMS TURN IN CIRCLES AND THIS MEANS MORE THAN NORMAL CHILDREN. IT IS NOT THE ROOT OF THE DISORDER THO, JUST SOME OF THE MANY THINGS THAT GO WITH IT)

  • My daughter is 25 months old. And looking at this video, I feel its a mirror of my daughter. With an O.T and on gfcf, I have nothing by high hopes for her. It appears there are a lot of jerks commenting on this video, who have no clue as what they are talking about. I knew a long time ago that my daughter was different. That case being, on the spectrum. Toe walking, Still non verbal, teeth grinding, stimming, poor eye contact, unresponsive, tons of hand flapping. Glad you listened to your heart!

  • Haha... My parents said I flapped when I was little. My hands would fling everywhere and whatever. But I am not autistic. I am really normal. My BROTHER is the one with autism, and he DID NOT flap his hands... so I don't think that statement is entirely true...... ;) It's okkkk....

  • @mostmusicisbad - Your comment about Americans and Autism reveals everything about you. A biased know-it-all, who is WAY off base on this topic. Do you know ANYTHING about autism? And, did you stop and think for a moment that some parents who use this site to compare notes and learn more about autism? And the last thing they need is an ignorant, bigoted America-hating jerkoff blathering on about something he knows nothing about? Sod off and keep your wanker opinons to yourself.

  • @jaxmomsanurse Sorry to say it's so. Jade is now 7, and still, very much autistic.

  • @jaxmomsanurse being that you are a nurse, better bone up on your autism awareness, just sayin'

  • i have 3 siblings with autism so this is really familiar to me. being their sibling was frustrating for me growing up. still is till this day. idk, it gets harder to cope with as days go by.

  • @TheMrplayitsafe Please read, read, read, read, read, read, and make yourself a little smart before you post. Epson salt has made some behavior on my child better, and it is because it has a chelation behavior. Again, please READ, READ, READ, READ. Oh boy you have a long way to go, until then, you really sound rude and ignorant.

  • @muchambrosia Ahhhh the chelation behavior. Thanks for illuminating that.

    ps I don't read, I study.

  • poor lil thing!!

    she is so precious!

    hope she is doing fine!

  • @4530NanoMio she is doing amazing! 7 now, and is the most awesome kid in the world!

  • @aware4autism

i am so glad to hear that!!

she is such a beautiful little thing!!!

    good luck with everything!!

  • what did you do to make her cry lol

  • Well, I don't want to be a smart ass. I'm no parent but I've been a child and I had problems with my brain, so things went different and slower. With this experience, I can say, the TV in the background would make me crazy. And I could improve my restrictions as an adult by taking vitamins, minerals and fatty acids with the food. This is, because food contains only 1/10 of those things today.

  • Have you considered the latest research that autism is linked to the ingredients in vaccines?

  • @nthread (I mean no offence)

Please keep in mind that this video is only 55 secconds, and how is a loving partent takig occasional pictures and videos of their child bad parenting?

This little video is very helpful to parents who have concerns and questions about autism. The earlier the detection of autisum the better impact the treatments have on the child. If an autistic child gets no therapy until later in life the symptoms are far more extream, and possibly permanent.

  • My son ground his teeth constantly, tiptoed around at warp speed like a tapdancer, freaked out at many food textures, and flapped his hands. He also constantly lined up every shoe in the house. I told his doctor about this, and about his lack of eye contact, and they said he was "fine".

Now that my son is 5 he has a diagnosis of autisum. I guess they wanted to "wait and see", but early treatment is crucial for this kind of disorder. Doctors need to be more helpful with this kind of thing >.<

  • I love how people who don't have children like to tell those of us who do exactly what we're doing wrong and how they would do it. We all thought we knew how we would do things as parents, but things change when you are an ACTUAL parent! You worry for your child and want to protect them. No one is trying to find something wrong for sport. Parents simply try to be one step ahead so that they can try and prepare for what may come, in order to be the best parents they can be.

  • So you got her diagnosed with a serious mental condition because she gets exited and flaps her hand around, like that thing EVERY LITTLE KID DOES, and for making silly faces, like every toddler ever. Really no offense, but they way you people are going eventually no kid out there will be called normal, if they get exited alot ADD. if their a loner AUTISM if they talk too much ASPIE if they talk too litle AUTISM. If they have one tiny thing that looks a teeny bit like autism OH SHIT SHE GOT IT!!

  • haha that ' I love youuuu' was a bit scary.. xDD

  • i know some one who has autism but instead of flapping her hand she would do flicking in mid air

  • shes not autistic!!! wth!!! shes so young n ure already saying shes autistic!!! GROW UP MOM!! ur attitude is making her cry

  • @cerise333 if you would read the description and not jump to conclusions, Jade was diagnosed with autism... her mom is posting this video (along with others) to inform people of MANY of the symptoms...meaning if your child has several of them they may have autism. She is trying to help so relax.

  • @emylleigh ok sorry I had just seen a lot of vids with mom sayin their kids were autistic when they werent n I was angry at the time

  • one thing is for sure, she is so cute!!

  • First of all it is OBVIOUS that your baby doesn't like you filming her, and obviously needs something...maybe a diaper change or a bottle. Why do you stupid mom's insist on posting videos while your house is filthy, the tv is on, and your child needs you. PUT DOWN THE FKIN CAMERA ALREADY and tend to your child.

  • @nthread that was very out of line, you are a disgusting individual.

  • @homegirl44 there was nothing out of line in my comment, and the last time I checked it was a free country and youtube allows all comments, even idiotic ones like yours. It is typical that a black woman would get all bent over my comment, because you probably leave your own kid in dirty diapers, and dirty and hungry. Its' not uncommon for blacks to be lazy with their own children, sista! I musta hit a nerve, eh? You filth.

  • all children of this age do that dont they?

  • She is absolutely gorgeous.

  • The epson salt is good as long as she doesn't drink the water hahaha.

  • Thanks for sharing and showing that acceptance is key. You have intervened your precious child at a very young age and this is and will be detrimental to her normalization of the condition known as autism. Parents need to cut out the denial and start the process of autistic educational practices. Congress should really get behind autistic education. If I go to law school I will push for this. We have schools for the blind in each state, but autistic schools are still sparse

  • @pawppy Uhhhh...Nice diagnosis, Doctor.

  • I have to say, I don't see any signs of autistic behaviours here at all. No SIB, no lack of EC, seems aware and willing to communicate.

Have you been to see the CBTs or the consultants with her yet and gotten a diagnosis?

  • @themikeashfield this was 6 years ago, and yes, she is plenty autistic, with many dx to prove it. You people make me lolz.

  • I appreciate you told Jade you loved her but you didn't once ask what was bothering her / what she wanted. I'm sure she was trying to communicate but you didn't respond?? Maybe that's something to think about?

  • @ClaireEg1 I AGREE this is what I have been saying, but getting criticism from HOMEGIRL and others. The reason this baby is so miserable is because the mother is a NUT! She needs something, either food, or water, or a diaper change or some pain reliever or a nap. This so called mother is more concerned with capturing a brief moment, or unusual behavior just to get attention on youtube, it is sad. The baby is "literally" reaching out for a mother and simply gets a "reality show" NOT FAIR.

  • @nthread this was 6 years ago, and yes, she is plenty autistic, with many dx to prove it. You people make me lolz.

  • @aware4autism

    that what the fuck

    you are a horrible person

    go die in aspie hell

  • the only ones that can prevent these heavy duty and so so efficient mental shields that cause this so-called 'autism' to go up are the parents and everyone that the children come in contact with, i don't care who and why and where and when.. please do not take this personally i am saying this just to help believe me that i am saying it from all my heart. i might not be around for much longer trying to give my 2c here and there wherever i feel i can help. by the way how is she now?

  • just play and engage in whatever daily activity may come with your children just as if they were your friends and things will always turn out ok. by the looks of it the only problem that autistic kids have is the parents not being able or willing enough to properly show them 'around'. they come to a point where they feel so accurately that the ones that are near them have some sort of disability in putting things in perspective from a certain level further, and they also feel the causes so badly

  • @pawppy Just ignore it and it will go away.. lol. This is the worst and most condescending thing you can say to a parent with a child with developmental disorders.

  • @rsfff not sure i ever said that..i was talking about very small children anyway, not so much about kids you treated for some couple of years as being mentally ill and put them on pills or whatever, i do not know how the whole thing works

  • @rsfff very small as in few months old

  • @pawppy where did you go to school to develop this harebrained theory?

  • Comment removed

  • @aware4autism i have no school madam i was just trying to help. from all of my heart. please excuse me.

  • @pawppy I work with Autistic children and there are parents that don't pay attention to their kids and there are parents that are involved with their children EVERY SINGLE MINUTE POSSIBLE. Our most severe child is the one with the most involved parents. While a parent can assist an Autistic child by getting early intervention, the severity of the child is not a reflection of the parenting skills. That's as ridiculious as saying a child with lukemia is the result of bad parenting

  • @triciac84 i wanted to share what i thought would perhaps help people that spend a great deal of their time with such children, such as you... and would really strive to understand. I just thought it was way too selfish and also kind of ridiculous to diagnose autism based on such symptoms as restlessness which should just be there all the time in all kids. and then make such an easy call upon disease when one of these gifted children would have troubles relating to nonsensic relationships

  • fapping of hands, teeth grinding are signs of anxiousness, nervousness, tension because of being trapped in a retarded apartment(they all are) with a parent that would not let the camera down when her daughter comes to her and cries, you like went 'hello' like you were making fun of her... i know you did not mean it and it is really not nowadays parents' fault that they are too much of dumb kids themselves to be able to raise children properly..

  • @pawppy o know what "fapping" means? You are a filthy bastard. This was 6 years ago, and yes, she is plenty autistic, with many dx to prove it.

You ignorant people make me lolz. I'm amazed you can find your way to the internet.

  • i don't think she has autism why are you so worried i hate people like that. take a chill pill...

  • when she was walking away i had this weird fear that she would fall.

  • Here we go again with this 24 months bullshit. It's 2 years asshole. When your stupid ugly kid is 30 you'll still be talking about your 360 month old kid.

  • hey, ppl. just chek my blog and comments. welcomearena..blogspot.com

  • I'm not sure! I think she's trying to wave her hands, like "follow me" or something? Considering she keeps going back and forth? But it's just my observation. I wish the best for you two! She's very adorable. Those cute, chubby cheeks!

  • I think this is precious. I actually tear up watching this because it seems oddly familiar to me in my life, as an autistic person.

I just love it. ((happy tears))

  • oooh i love you...she is sooo cute! i hope she well do well on her treatments...God Bless this soul...

  • cat almost got stomped on at 0:16

  • She wanted you to come with her.

  • huh? im confused about the epsom salts comment.

  • ya i have an autistic kid in my school and he flaps his hands like crazy all the time like hes in africa trying to get the flies off of him

  • please check out my page im doing a life list to raise awareness for autism. please comment and respond i could use the help

  • please check out my page and subscribe/comment im doing a life list to help raise awareness for autism.....thank so much

  • My son is 3 going on 4 and he still does this.. He didnt start grinding his teeth until recently though.. Ive known for about a year that he's autistic..

  • what a sweet girl.. you can tell she's trying so much to communicate :)

  • Can you explain how the Epsom Salt works, and if it is helpful to lessen the flapping and grinding.

  • thank you for communicating @aware4autism, hope and pray for your complete recovery from surgery, you are a great mom and deserve only the best from life.

  • @LosetheStone16 thank you so much! One surgery turned into turned into 2 surgeries, but I am on the mend now. It's always hard on Jade when I am in the hospital, she looks for me all the time, calling my name through the house!

I'll hopefully have a video up by Friday.

  • @LosetheStone16 have u looked into chelation therapy? many cases of autism are caused by vaccines....

  • Hm..this is interesting.

I have a little cousin, and I think he's autistic. We've gone to doctors, and no one diagnoses him as such. But I think he is because he doesn't talk, he only shouts in a gibberish language, flaps his hands all the time, is always covering his ears, and loves to climb. He climbs couches, bookcases, stairs, shelves...he'll just walk up to you and start climbing up your legs. I'm concerned.

  • @Aquaria2291 google the MCHAT, have his parents fill it out and take it to his doctor. If he is on the spectrum, this will definitely help him get a dx and early intervention.

  • does hand flapping alone necessarily mean that someone has autism? i used to do that frequently when i was younger but i grew out of it by elementary school and i have never been diagnosed as autistic or as having any kind of mental retardation....

  • @ctswright Autism is NOT mental retardation! :(

  • i aplogize

  • @ctswright this is only one sign of autism. ALL kids will display a sign or two of autism.

  • @aware4autism OR hand flapping could be NORMAL!!! I wish parents would stop reading into every little action their toddlers do. Only be worried if they display ALL SIGNS of autism(or any disorder), not just one. When I'm a parent, the only things I would be worried about are non-normal disorders(like seizures).

  • @DukeNukem2020

Hand flapping IS normal, had it been the only symptom my daughter had, she would have never been diagnosed! Do you actually think she was diagnosed with autism just because she flaps her hands?

Btw, what do you consider a "normal disorder"?

  • @aware4autism What I mean by "Non-Normal" is when a kid isn't acting, well, like a kid(not normally). Like Seizures, Torettes, ect.

  • @DukeNukem2020 Define 'normal'.

  • @HandyDandyDeathNote A healthy child that doesn't suffer some severe physical or mental abnormality.

  • @DukeNukem2020 . And your usage of normal is slightly... Well, truthfully, it's aggravating. Normal is a setting on a washing machine, and is not something people have the ability to be. Everyone has something different about them. Just because facial ticks and 'word vomit' isn't acceptable in this culture does not mean it is 'bad', unless the person is self injuring as a tick.

By the way, I believe the word you are looking for is 'abnormal'

  • @HandyDandyDeathNote I'm just saying one personal characteristic does not make Autism. She seemed like a perfectly healthy 2 year old girl to me.

  • @DukeNukem2020

No, one personal characteristic does not define Autism. What I can see from this video is coordination problems (one characteristic), a lack of a response when her name is called (two), repetitive vocal noises that are not speaking (three), not talking as much as most two year olds (four), mid hand flapping (five), throwing fits over seemingly little things (six). And that's based off of 51 seconds of video footage on Youtube.

  • @HandyDandyDeathNote But on another note, what is Autism exactly? I never fully understood Autism/Asbergers.

  • @DukeNukem2020 ... Have you SERIOUSLY been arguing this whole time without having a decent understanding of Autism? REALLY?

Because of the character limit, I can't write everything I know about Autism. Essentially, Autistic people are in their own world, and like it that way. While most people naturally learn social cues (body language, fashion trends, things of that nature), we don't, and have great difficulty doing so.... I suggest you look it up.

  • @aware4autism Im sure he's talking about autism ADD ADHD and stuff. those are pretty commen "disorders". Also, I highly doubt if your daughter has autism that some salt will cure her. Just ask yourself this, is ADD, ADHD, or autism really a disorder? they really aren't that bad. I have ADD my sister has Autism and we live fine. Im certain you DO have your daughters best interests in mind, but you can't stop it. You have to help her embrace her "disorder" instead of covering it up.

  • @omicron142 That's a good way of looking at things... My daughter has a form of Autism and is 3. But she's very delayed in a lot of things. She's non verbal so for her when she gets mad she can't express what she is trying to say much like the child in this video.

  • @Missa111Melissa Yes, its just annoying to see people walk up and slap a title on these diseases, because all they do is slap a title on the kid. Its all mental, all in the brain. It doesn't really help to have some guy give a title as "The special kid" and have adults patronize you. I used to be on an IEP and other programs, and I refused to let them help me, because I knew I didn't need help. Now I am off my meds and doing well. Instead of patronizing your daughter, treat her normaly.

  • @omicron142 I don't patronize my daughter I do treat her normal. But honestly how normal is if for a 3yr old to be non verbal? I treat my daughter as normal as she is. I would not change my daughter for anything but she has some serious delays mentaly and physically so how normal can I really treat her when she is not interacting with children her own age, can not speak, throws fits because she can not do something or tell you what she wants, and everything has to be done in order if not she

  • @omicron142 screams, crys, kicks, and such.

  • @aware4autism

she is going to have "autism" now that you treat her like she has it.

chances are because she is a girl all the signs of "autism" will disappear once she gets older. boys are more prone to autism than girls. what does that tell us? that it's not a genetic thing, it's a learned process.

  • @avatarion you NT nuisance, signs of autism don't disappear when a girl gets older, she learns to imitate NT behaviour and tries to fit in desperately. learning by heart what force your smile must have and how many secondss of eye contact are required per minute and how to stand up straight enough but not too straight to look ok to other people is a trying process, so don't underestimate the willpower it takes to fit in for autistic girls.they are still autistic when they know how to act normal

  • @aware4autism can't help myself so i will say it: your tv flickers. that's unnerving. look into it maybe?

  • @aware4autism i think she doesnt like the cameras why shes crying

  • @DukeNukem2020 It is easy to say that when you do not live with the child, you can only see so little from a video, but even in this video you can see a number of signs of autism not one as you inaccurately say.

  • @DukeNukem2020 You're such an idiot. Do your research. Autism is a SPECTRUM DISORDER. That means that only very very very VERY few autistic people display ALL the signs of autism. Autistic people get different signs and symptoms, at different levels, and behave in different ways.

And there's no such thing as a "normal" and "non-normal" disorder. You're just one of those gits who thinks he knows everything when in reality anyone can tell you're about as knowledgeable as my stuffed dog.

  • @DukeNukem2020 Seizures don't always mean its the end of the world, and there are many different types of seizures; I had petit mal seizures as a child until age 6 when I was started on medication (I believe there are 1-2 grand mal's I had but I don't remember them at all except what parents and family told me). Haven't had them since and haven't taken medicine since that age for it, and have lived a completely normal life. I seriously doubt she thought she was autistic only cause of hand slappi

  • @DukeNukem2020 That is by far one of the most ignorant things that I have ever read. I sincerely hope, for your childs sake, that you never become a parent. Unfortunately, there are ALOT of children in the world with disabilities, in every degree of the spectrum, and you would not be mentally mature enough to raise an ant farm, let alone a helpless child. I can't imagine what you would say about some of the subtle features of a child with Cerebral Palsy, like my Child has. Grow up.

  • @CHRYSnROB I am a parent and I understood the point of @DukeNukem2020 comment. He wasnt mocking autism at all, but it is very true that many parents freak out about some arm flapping or teeth grinding when these are also common behaviors in a child without autism. He was just letting people know that just because you exhibit a couple "symptoms" doesn't mean they are autistic because parents these days tend to freak out about every little action.

  • @homegirl44 you are obviously a 23 year old know-nothing. You were obviously raised in the projects, so Go back to rappin' and popping and locking. Stick to what you know best...not parenting-homeslice.

  • @DukeNukem2020 .... Ahhh yes, the famous and highly accredited DOCTOR DukeNukem2020. Where do you get your facts?

  • @DukeNukem2020 .... Ahhh yes, the famous and highly accredited DOCTOR DukeNukem2020. Where do you get your facts?

  • she is cute and beautiful!

  • Such a beautiful little girl :D

Autistic people are just ordinary people who see the world a little differently to most. Your child looks like a sweet, lovely young girl and she is obviously much loved. I wish you the best for the future ^.^

  • She hates having that camera in her face all the time, sorry its the truth my son cannot stand pictures of himself or videos she seems distressed because your behind the camera and she cannot see your face

  • @missangie29 are you kidding? Jade loves the camera. I love that people know my child (and often diagnose her) after seeing 51 second of her life. LoL

  • @missangie29 Speaking as an Autistic minor, that is very true.

  • Grinding teeth and hand flapping, I did both.

(I still flap my hands). :)

  • I think she's missing her building blocks.

Does her mom have any new vids to show us what Jade is doing recently?

Does she have a jungle gym to climb?

  • @LosetheStone16 I just got a new camera, and am dying to put new vids up, but I am going into surgery tuesday, so it may be awhile. She not only has a jungle gym, but a park across the street and giant trees to climb!

  • Please don't watch videos about autism if you don't actually have it or are doing some sort of school project about it.

  • I do have autism for your info, and work with children who have it as well. Now, autism isn't higher intellegence or lower intellegence necessairily, it is a different type of brain that can be either smarter or less smart. Just like it is not true to say all neurotypical people are bad at math, you can't say all autistic people are good at math either. If I've made grammatical errors please don't tell me about it because I don't really care.

  • I have autism, I'm smarter than most my age, could be coincidence, who knows. Of all my friends the autistic ones are smarter.

  • @1313Nothing While I do know many autistic individuals that are extremely intelligent, and I have an inkling that there are more autistic geniuses than we can ever realize, autism does affect those with average intelligence.

The stigma that all autistics are geniuses harms those individuals with average or lower IQs. Imagine everyone expecting you to be something you are not.

  • why. I want to learn more about it

  • I'm willing to bet of all the people commenting on and watching this video, less than 5% actually have any form of autism, and yet you all think you know about it. I suppose ignorance is bliss.

  • your a dumbass

  • me 2

  • there should be a comma after god.

  • The T should be captial. That's 1 mistake for me, 3 for you.

  • my sister used to be big on the teeth grinding. i wonder why that is a commonality among autistic kids?

  • I have a son with autism and after seeing this video I tried the epson salt. The grinding of teeth has totally stopped. His vocabulary has doubled in a week. His need for something in his mouth is gone. And he's so much more engaged in life. Thank you for posting this video. Thank you for giving me alot more hope.

  • epsom salt cures autism?

  • it does? that's a miracle!

  • i see some retardation here... but bless her she's absolutely adorable lol

    lmao excuse my offending language.

  • Actually, many people assume that autistic individuals have mental retardation.

Jade however, is an uber genius. She was reading at 2, and now at 5, has better google skills than most adults!

  • @aware4autism i have more respect for the smart autistic kids haha.

that's good for jade though i'm happy for her :)

  • My mom does that salt thing as well for my lil brothers baths.. Also vitamins.

It is NATURALLY Pulling OUT the toxins from his vaccinations from my little brothers body.

Autism is completely treatable. And prevetable if people would just space their infants shots out and wait till theyre older.

Unless it runs strong in your family genes.

  • The treatment that benefitted Jade the most was IVIG to treat her underlying immunodeficiency. Once that was on track, she started progressing rapidly!

  • So what about the kids who aren't immunized and do not have a family history? I won't say that vaccines aren't a trigger for some children...I don't know. But it is not the only contributing factor to autism. Neither are genes. There are children who don't fit that criteria.

  • Could be chemicals the child was around, maybe from inside their home, to the area they're living. It is very rare thing if you find a parent that didnt give their child ONE vaccine and that child has autism. (a child that has never had a vaccine in their life with autism))Very rare unless it runs in the family.

  • The rise in autism started in the 90s when children were given the combo shots. We cant deny that fact. Also the fact that kids can still get the things they're vaccinated for. There was a whooping cough out break in a school and they traced it down to a vaccinated child.

  • ow, ow, ow, ow ,ow!

If she had autism that teeth grinding would hurt her so much, unless she has under sensitivity to pain.

Oh God, my teeth hurt now.

  • she is pretty hyporesponsive with her processing. I once caught her in the shower, standing under completely hot water, skin red, singing with a smile on her face.

she hasn't ground her teeth in a couple years, thankfully, and has gotten much less hyporesponsive!

  • what did you say about epsom salts????

  • My cousin has severe autism and although he has become better at communicating with age, he didn't speak a full sentence until he was around 9 or 10 but the first words he spoke was i love you. He lines his toys up at the bottom of his bed and stacks all his DVDs in order. He is really clever, it just annoys me how people label him as stupid because of his disability. Your daughter is beautiful, and i'm sure you are so proud of her! How is her communication now shes older?

  • Mostly echolalic, but she can ask us for things now, and answer some questions. In kindergarten this year, mainstreamed 1/2 the day.

She does have a random unprompted question, or statement that is not echolalic every couple days.

Last week, my parents brought their dogs over, who were playing with our cats. Jade enters the room and exclaims "the animals are everywhere!" LOVE IT!!!!!

  • Jade is absolutly beautiful

  • to end the argument, I DON"T livfe a perfect life...actually, I'm currently homeless due to the fact of my special needs son setting fires and breaking into apartments. My grandchildren live with me...we, live by the grace of God with my parents while I finish school. Unless you have walked in my shoes; or have any idea what it is like..don't judge. I have NO idea why I'm being attacked by this individual. I LOVE my autistic grandchildren, and wouldn't trade them for anything. quit hating

  • your homeless yet you have a computer?

  • ozoneromanina--I'm homeless due to the fact that my son, who is very, very mentally ill, was setting fires where we lived. I'm not broke, I'm a full time student, and I am currently typing this from a recovery hospital, due to the fact my daughter was diagnosed, and had surgery on a huge brain tumor. Enjoy your children, you'll never know how long you'll have them. I LOVE my grandchildren with Autism...

  • poor wee girl behaves exactly like my 2 year old son. all the best to you all

  • It's Doctor Bimbo to you, wd40tex.

  • OMFgosh. lol

  • You really need education, she can't help the fact she's autistic(NOT retarded, autistic kids usually have a higer IQ than average, great memory and art skills)Her mother can't help it, no-one can. I think you are disgusting as a person for saying such a horrid thing and I think you did it mostly for attention. And another thing, I guarantee that girl is way smarter than you, because you are just an ignorant cruel person, and one of these days karma is going to get you bad. Just saying.

  • wow i've never read such a sad, hate filled comment on youtube before.... a good mother loves her child not matter what. the child is not retarded she is autistic. even if she was retarded that would make a difference in the mothers love for her. i hope that you will in the future feel different about things like this and enlighten yourself.
