im planning on buyin a 1999 toyota solara and i want to put a trd super charger on it but i cant find them any where and do u know how much they cost? what else can u do to these cars to make good hp gains? i was wanting a good 380+ whp but was worried how much it would cost compared to other cars.

@colemanktm TRD stopped making the superchargers for the 3.0 1mzfe engine around 2007. The only bet now is whatever online outfits have stock remaining.

good luck finding one, my old car was TRD supercharged and it was pretty rare. Dats and I are one of the few old OG's from SG... that site has pretty much changed since I last went on 2-3 years ago.

dude i seen your solara over on cardomain a grip too. i had one too - 2000 toyota solara v6 manual body kit, dropped, dual greddys, intake, hid, etc and it was sick when it was. after about 06 it started getting played tfo. im happy i moved on too, but the solara was a bad ass ride - if you got it back in 99-00 like me :)

Some guy is selling me an original 1999 Toyota Solara TRD! I'm really considering buying it because he's a family man now and doesn't need it. I couldn't believe my eyes it was legit and not an imitation. Supercharged and everything. He's selling it for $8800 should I go for it?

Really up to you. If you like it get it. Just know its not the best car for high power performance unless your willing to spend an extra 4-10 grand on top of that 8 grand your about to pay. For stock SC its a good daily rare car. More rare then a supra.

i noticed in the video your signal bulbs were not dim, i changed mine to hid bright white but they are dim at night, they only go bright when they are signalling, how did you wire yours so they are constantly bright without signalling, if you didnt change that what kind of bulbs werre they

My builbs are all cheap autozone ones. Nothing fancy. Are your bulbs LED or original bulbs? Because certain bulbs does not put out the correct currents causing your entire electrical to not see its full currents causing that.

I used which ever the original bulb number replacement was. Cant remember off my head but I think it was only 3 numbers not 4.

you do realize vtec is the same as variable valve timing (vvt), right? honda didnt come up with it, they just do it better.

i own an acura, so dont think im dissing honda, but if you are going to be so bold with your statements, make sure you are at least right.

your absoutly wrong. Vtec controles lift and duration. The valver arent variable. Oil pressure pushes over a pin in the higher RPM's and creats a longer duration and bigger lift. Where as vvt-i or dual vvti like my camry has, it doesnt control lift. IT constantly varies the intake and exhause valves. vvti makes more torque and HP through out the rpm band. Hondas engines are almost dead in the lower rpm's untill vtec kicks in

o btw i dont like honda cars that people hook up bc its just looks most of the time. now acura, most of the cars come with a sport pack option. ex.(rsx s, tl s, tsx, cl s, nsx, and also the new suv the rdx, and the other 2 the mdx and rl have a sport op w/ awd. so all of acura cars has a nice platform for mods, thay are built that way.
