  • I was just severely reprimanded by the owner of the property where I live with my sweetie (farmer/caretaker/slave) for cutting 4 approx. 1 ft. blossoms from a lilac tree. Surely, enjoying a bouquet of lilacs cannot possibly cause damage to the tree? Please advise.

  • My lilac is only on drippers...and it is full of blooms

  • I just planted my very first lilac (preston) and I did everything you said about where to plant and watering etc. I needed some good advice on pruning and I got it here from you. Thank you very much!

  • I planted over 75 lilacs around my fence line for privacy. the problem is some are sitting where a lot of ash and scrape metal was dug up while planting, these seem to be stunted compared to the rest of the bushes. Is there anything you could suggest to help the growth? All started at around 2ft tall most are now well over 6ft but for the group i mention they are between 3 and 4ft. I'm considering manure but I don't know if it will help. Any suggestions will be helpful thanks for your time.

  • Thanks!
