  • Nice vid..nice music..

  • When you got Michael Cooper and Byron Scott as role players on your team, you are stacked. The fact that Byron Scott, the team's forth best or fifth best player, was the leading scorer during '87 and '88, the peak of "Showtime," shows how balanced and fluid the Laker offense was.

Michael Cooper was amazing. He was that perfect 6th man because he can come in lock down which ever perimeter player was shooting the best in the opening minutes and he was the clasic, instant offense guy as well.

  • This has to be my favorite NBA highlights video. Coop and B Scott. Lakers TEAM basketball. I wish basketball was still played like this. :(

Thanks for inlcuding one of Magic's best no look passes in the middle of the break at 2:05.

  • B Scott could light it up at any time and was an important part of 3 Laker championships. But DAMN!!! Coop was a badass. His defense never had an off night and without him Showtime doesn't win all of those 5 rings in the 80s.

  • Poor Coop, even though he was (in my opinion) the best defender ever in the NBA, he always will be remembered for being poster dunked on by Dr. J.

  • Sick vid dude, thanks for posting!

  • I HATE BYRON SCOTT!! BUT, that's because i'm a Seattle native, a Sonics and Blazers fan, and Byron Scott KILLED the Blazers. If I were LA born and raised, I'd LOVE Byron Scott. I'm Japanese-American, so I HATE the Celtics, Jazz, Suns, and Lakers!

  • Michael Cooper, one of the best defenders ever. Most guys today would give a fast break score, dunk, or foul on purpose, but not Michael Cooper.

  • show time forever !

  • The man who disliked this is a faggot.

  • If L.A. signs Mikeal Piertus he would be Coop and Shannon could be Byron

  • @mtj24 No one can be either Byron Scott or Michael Cooper.

  • byron had lost it by the time he got to vancouver, thats why blue edwards started every game.

  • 2:07 to 2:10, vintage Showtime Lakers fast break! nobody did it better!

  • 2 of the best role players of all time.

  • magic to coop...coop-a-loop and Scott was money either filling the lane or lighting up a j.

i wore my BScott t-shirt everywhere, or my gray six pack Laker shirt. Plus my starter custom J/ Worthy wind breaker!!!!

Being a kid in 87-88 was sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great song... great players!

  • man great video this guys definitely had huge roles in the Lakers showtime era..Love them Lakers.

  • Great Vid!!! Byron Scott was my favorite laker to watch

  • Thanks SO MUCH for a)making a video of my favorite wing tandem as a kid and b) using music that doesn't completely suck. Unfortunately too many NBA highlight videos are made with atrotious music.

    Thanks a million!

  • memories. wow! Lakers are the team ever.

  • Thanks for this vid. Took me back to the days when I would wear my old grey Michael Cooper bobble head t-shirt, before bobble heads were in. Always loved Byron Scott's shooting form. And the music is perfect with this, enhancing the dreamlike feel.. Nice editing.

  • I love it! Great music to boot.

  • Laker Legends.

  • byron scott wasnt afraid to get up there lol

  • damn byron scott was a beast

  • He was. On any other team he'd at least be the second scoring option (No. 1 option on most non-playoff contenders). With the Showtime-era Lakers, he was primarily the 3rd or 4th option and still flirted with a 20 ppg season avg. and was often in the Top 10 in 3-pt FG %. Today, the Lakers have an almost similar player in the making in Shannon Brown. Hope Mitch has the good sense to keep him around beyond the 2010 season...

  • does anyone know how to create vids

  • man i hate the lakers as a clippers fan but the showtime lakers were so humble and easy to like....best "team oriented group of guys ever"....

  • rightly said!

  • @socalkickboxer lol they werent humble at all.

  • byron scott was a fucking monster....

  • nicely done!! it's about time someone posted something on these two L.A. natives who were such important components of the Showtime Lakers...

  • Stary więcej takich miksów. OLDSCHOLL rulez! heh pozdro.

  • Thanks for posting man....Great Job

  • Micheal Cooper was my idol back in the day. I was 6'4" 165lbs and loved his style and grace. I was close to his stats and thought if he could play in the NBA I could too. lol nothing like dreaming. I did'nt even play that serious just playground ball with my homies. Miss them days!!

  • Good ol Inglewood Forum days!!Miss that corner of Century and Prarie!!lol

  • Great video. Both shud get their numbers retired!!

  • @MAGIC32vsKOBE24 I AGREE, ALONG WITH A.C. GREEN TOO, AND RAMBIS, I AM OLD SCHOOL 38 YEARS OLD AND THESE WILL ALWAYS BE MY LAKERS..

  • 1:49....that block is sick! Great Job on the mix.....absolutely love the instrumental!

  • Great Job!!! I like this mix.
