Just check out the stories of the American people, they usually go like this, you get sick, you can't work, you lose your job, your lose your health insurance, you lose everything you own trying to pay your hospital bills, and then often you don't get the care you need so you die. Check out the stories of the heroic volunteers of 9-11 who breathed in toxic dust at ground zero and were denied health care. That is our current system.

profits aren't to be hated morons. if a company is making profits then they are providing a service that the people are agreeing with due to it's profit margin.if people don't like it they don't buy it. the only reason health care costs rise is because of govt. price controls. single payer systems are obviously flawed and can't be sustained. the govt. doesn't have money to pay for it or s.s. or medicare.

Do you really think people are "agreeing" that $12 is an acceptable price for an aspirin during a hospital stay? People who are acutely or chronically ill have no ability to negotiate costs, no ability to even VIEW the prices prior to each procedure, and no ability to shop around for each service, pill, etc, nurse's aide, etc.

You can't even get hospital personnel to itemize the costs before agreeing to certain procedures! The costs are oft-hidden and unsubject to competition/negotiation.

well that's the problem. it's not hospital profits that are the reason for high prices it's government mandates. i just don't understand how people get mad about this not being a free market but talk crap about profits and capitolism as if they were the problem if you have a problem with the high prices talk to your state and fed. reps. about mandated health care items in your bills that make it more expensive.
