I think it's cool that this allows handicapped Subaru fans to finally drive an STi. But other than that, this is freakin painful...I almost cried, not really. But just the thought of an automatic STi is depressing.
@Bones12x2 "I almost cried". LOL. I know what you mean but I still think an automatic with paddle shifters in with a modern tranny is pretty cool. Subaru should atleast give US customers a choice like Mitshubishi EVO.
My compliments to the author of this video production of our beloved Scoobies! Specially when it comes to it's " A " line .- I'm also a person with a certain physical impairment or handicap. But that hasn't stopped me from enjoying the power and treasures of a Scoobie. I own a 92 Subaru Legacy L Sedan or " Saloon " with a Triptonic tranny or sequential tranny however you may want to call it and I must say is has nothing to envy the manual trans.
Dear god...No. It's a nice car, and the auto tranny would make life easier, but that essentially means soccer moms could drive this. Which would equal death.
Can you imagine it though? "NO WAY MY JIMMY'S GOING TO BE LATE TO PRACTICE!" as she's going a buck-30 down some back coutry road...
It's pretty nice for what Subaru did, it's a bit down on power, but that could be fixed by installing some nice quality parts. I wanted to get the manual version in Hong Kong, but since the wife can't drive a manual, this will do. On the other hand, an EVO X with SST tranny costs twice as much in Hong Kong.
I think that it is about time they made the the STI in an automatic Trans. But it suck that it isn't coming to the USA. I am Handicapped and I dreamed of owning an STI but can't own one cause I can't afford to put hand controls because they caost as much as the car is worth to have them installed. But I guess I will never get that chance. Cool Video though.
@sarcophegus Probably you're right, but the problem is that because of my handicap i can't drive a stick shift. Knowing that subaru is indeed doing this, it just makes me so happy! i hope it'll reach europe, otherwise i'm gonna have to import one from Doha.

@sarcophegus Are you sure? With automatic transmission and the steering on the left side?

@felozai yep, left hand side.
already several have been booked at the local dealer here.
I'll stick to my Manual WRX 2010 though, it's much more fun than auto :)
