@spangledsky777 Thank you for your question. The answer is both. As you probably know, static palms and set changes between them are important aspects of Bagua training. They gradually allow the development of skills and understanding of principles which lead to more complex palm changes and eventually to the spontaneous state, which is continually changing and as free as the wind. All of these developmental stages are shown in detail on the DVD. All the best.
