BTW this IS in fact the recording done by the Scottish National Orchestra conducted by Meeme Jarvi. Look it up on iTunes. WORTH THE DOLLAR x INFINITY!!! :)
@eXcommunicate1979 eXcommunicate you are correct. I just compared the recordings side by side and the only difference is that this video (obviously, it's youtube) has much poorer quality.
@eXcommunicate1979 Exactly. This orchestra has a very distinctive sound--especially the brass section. Check out their recording of Prokovief's (Spelling?) Romeo & Juliette and Bruckner 4.
It's so gratifying to listen to Shostakovich with neither bitterness nor recentment; he seemed to have casted away all his hatred and anxiety, leaving behind the greatness and strength that lived inside of him. Thank you so much for this music.
Wow. Royal Scottish National Orchestra. You just gave me goosebumps. Why haven't I heard you guys before?

I believe this is the recording done by the Scottish National Orchestra, conducted by Meeme Jarvi.
I highly recommend the CD. It comes with an equally AMAZING recital of Shosty's 10th symphony. Fantastic:
Label: Chandos, ASIN: B000000AHN
