When I started playing this song.... I swear to god! A big ass fly landed on my computer screen.... I just sat here watching it holding still, cuz I didn't know what the hell to do!
Movie was 'meh', mostly suck due to plot-holes, lapses of logic, unnecessary cat-killing and Sam Raimi. Music saved it along with the talking goat, dancing demon and over-the-top-ity the movie took sometimes.
They should play this song when people are lining up to be thrown into hell. Imagine the devils standing there loking at you, this song being played and the whole atmosphere is dark as fuck. It'd be one hell of a BBQ.
@superskummel I don't know where you thought this movie was bad. It was Sam Raimi! Pure awesomeness...it was dark, had comedy and some good jump scares. Part of Raimi's genius is that most of his films aren't aimed at the masses. They are purposely made to be out there...FAR OUT THERE. He's a cult film director...and a damn good one.
I don't understand . When I saw this movie in the theaters I thought it was more funny than scary but still a good film but when I saw it alone in my home theater with my projector shooting onto my wall with an 80 inch picture This movie scared the hell (no pun intended) out of me! My friend told me "it was because I was by myself this time ! "
@Theogmeo123 It's not an error, actually. Just because he was holding the button doesn't mean it belonged to him. He only ended up with it because of the mix up with the envelopes, thus it was never formally given to him.
@quentinlebegue Well, at least after the way the Academy gypped this and A Single Man, it's great a branch of people who actually know good film music recognized the two best scores of last year.
Goose bumps all over everytime i play it. I am in a personal hell at the moment and it is perfect . Inner turmoil and a long dark walk in the spiritual wilderness in an incredible musical format.
I am not asking anyone to care about my high school problems. Music is very important in my life and sometimes it touches my soul in a very deep way and i love this music so much i just wanted to share my feelings about it.
I admire anyone who can do maths but i thought that would of expanded your mind. Instead you come across as narrow minded and self obsessed. Despite my troubles i enjoy life and embrace it in all it's diversity. To me music is the heartbeat of life and i am sorry that you appear to be so dead.
Drag Me to Hell completely redeemed Sam for the cinematic abortion that was Spider Man 3. This music went a long way to compliment the rest of the film, and did a superb job. And I found Christine to be an extremely sympathetic character...
this is a great concerto i watch the movie and had to get this song ASAP o and those2noobs ur an idiot didnt anyone tell u not 2 speak wen u dont know wat ur talking about
This is one of those themes where you feel EMO, but deep down inside, you're actually feeling evil, dark, hated, misunderstood and lonely in a living hell.
The movie was great but the music is very impressive.
I like it when the violin starts playing at 2:47 through to 4:12 because the way it plays reminds me of the first Evil Dead movie. Everytime I hear it, all I can see is Bruce Campbell in the cabin ready to take on the dark forces that has possessed his friends.
@LeopardGeckoTree I don't think it works like that. I assume - from the way they spoke - that as soon as the cursed person is taken to Hell, the actual curse leaves the object.
At 4:16-6:00 I imagine Christine and the Lamia landing before the City of Dis, and then the Lamia bundling Christine into the City itself, and then at 5:40 I imagine the Doors of the City of Dis slamming shut behind Christine, trapping her for eternity
The Capital of Hell. It's a circular city, on the edge of the Sixth Circle of Hell, bordering the Sixth Circle from the final two Circles. Dis is the hottest place in Hell - it is essentially a burning pit filled with demonic mosques and black temples.
I've always loved the theme of "Drag Me To Hell", I mean the main theme from the 1st track. It should be reused to make Revan's theme as Darth Revan. Not with all the screechy violins.
"Lalo Schifrin's "The Exorcist Symphony" never used (except for one trailer for The Exorcist (1973)) is used over the end credits to "Drag Me to Hell" - from trivia on the movie on Imdb.
Thank you so much for posting this soundtrack! Did not know what to expect when I first saw this movie but I ended up loving it along with everyone else in the theater. Definitely awesome to see a movie elicit so much audience participation/reaction.
Oh man, I had the same theater experience! It was absolutely wonderful, literally the only movie I've seen where the people in the theater actually talked about it at the end of the movie.
Really fun movie with an awesome audience, cool to see that other people shared that as well.
I like this movie so much! It had all that i've expected, classic creepy stuff. It reminded me of the 80's, wich had some of the best scaring movies, including the classic Universal Logo.
Same here, I was hanging on the edge of my seat the whole movie. Lamia was scaaary, the shadows and such, and then the classical Sam Raimi humor thrown in there too.

I would have liked it if the ending was different, just my opinion ;) Otherwise it was an entertaining movie. I love Sam Raimi's sense of humor!
