  • Fuck the sheikh and all those who oppress their people and land.

  • Very good!

  • I live up the road from hanger of this plane, it takes off over my head, lovely piece of kit...I love Dubai, God bless the Sheikh (HRH)

  • Could be. I once heard it was KIAD, Dulles Intl, but it could be a number of stops along the eastern seaboard.

  • This plane probably was fully loaded with fuel. They probably flew somewhere else with a longer runway and then re-fueled for the flight to Dubai.

  • Light load and lots of power! And he only used about 4,500 - 5,000 to get airborne.

  • It's amazing how this plane could take off on a 7000 ft runway.

  • Brandon, I once worked for Comair at Bluegrass as well back in the late 80's. It was fun but only lasted a little while.

  • I worked on the ramp for comair in Lexington the day of COMAIR 5191 . I WILL always REMEMBER you Michael Noelle Ryan . You will always be a good friend i looked up to. Thank you

  • Good information. Thanks for posting. Do you think he goes nonstop to Dubai?

  • no telling. probably on the order of 12 hours, roughly.

  • whats the flight time home-lol

  • Thanks. Sorry I didn't have better video equipment, but that was the best at the time. It did fair.

  • Nice video!!! I went to UK in the early 90's and loved the area. Unfortunatly, I was never fortunate enough to see a 747-400 the many times I flew through LEX.... (:-(

  • nice jet- thats y we r paying 3.50 a gal. 4 gas- 2 fill up his private 747-lol

  • Where are you paying $3.50 a gallon. We're only paying $2.39 here in Lexington. It is a nice jet, but I understand they are in financial trouble.

  • I work at Tac Air, the sole FBO on the field. We handle all the aircraft coming to the field outside of the airlines (even then we provide the fuel) and currently our price for Jet-A is $5.26 a gallon. When the sheik comes in he takes upwards of 20,000 gallons.

  • @kentuckyshack...i need a good connex to any special charters coming into KLEX you guys might work. can i count on you?

  • when exactly was this? i just moved to lexington and am fascinated by the whole horse sales...some of those horses go for a LOT of money! anyways, cant quite figure out WHEN the sales are. so clearly he was leaving because the sales were over...so what month was it in?

  • @avonfire06 - every september.

  • I love to watch those big'un's take off.

  • Yes, they are amazing! Thanks for the post.

  • Hey folks, send me your comments. I need some about this video and any others I have here. Appreciate it.

  • That's awesome for that 747 in Bluegrass Airport in Lexington, KY. Interesting...

  • Glad you liked it. The wife and I were quite surprised when we went by the airport and found him leaving.

  • Seriously?!?! The Runway's too short for that thing. How can it manage to do so?!?

  • How do you know the runway is too short. 4-22 is short at 7,000 feet, but not too short for most widebodies with minimul fuel and load only going a short distance. Delta has ran 767-300's in here for charters and NWA had a couple of 747-200's in here before for military charters. The military has also had a few C-5's here during Desert Storm as well.

  • Anthony,

Bear in mind that not only are 747s extremely well powered, it hasn't got 300-400 passengers on board not to mention their baggage as well!

  • Tru dat. That's why he can operate from Bluegrass so easily. You can do alot with an airplane that's almost empty.

  • My mom was the flight attendent of that plane

    (those people are bloody rich)

  • Nice. Wonder how many they had?

  • How many what? Like planes or flight attendants?

  • Well, you did mention flight attendants didn't you? As for planes, I don't think they have that many in that fleet.

  • Actually they have 3 747s (2 -400 1-200) 4 737 BBJ and quite a few gulfstreams for flight attendents, they have quite a limted crew, 20-30 max. They are a buch of picky people, around apply, maybe 5 get through.

  • Such an awesome plane, love it! He is lucky, he has his own 747 (my fave plane) and gets to buy thoroughbreds to fuel his hobby of the horse racing industry (which I adore too). Great video, I love Sony Cybershots, we have one. Thanks for sharing mate!

  • Thanks, mate. It was an awesome surprise when the wife and I went by the airport only to catch him leaving.

  • Very nice video. I remember my past happy days lived at Versailles. My daily route from Lexington to there and return. The very close sight of the Blue Grass airport alows to film videos and more. Tell me are you live at Kentucky? I´m e mali you from MMAS..Aguascalientes, Mexico.

  • Hola, Hector. Lo que aumenta? Yes, I'm in the Lexington, Kentucky area. Did you work on the horse farms? That video was at Bluegrass when the Sheihk came to Lexington. Glad you liked the video. I only wished I had a better camera. Tienen un día bueno.

  • Dan, I was on training in Texas Intruments plant at Versailles.Because the move the plant to Mexico. I left a lot of friend at Lawrenceburg,Versailles, Lexington, Georgetown, Midway..I hope some day come back and land at my loved Blue Grass..HAve you seen the planes approaching to, passing close the Kneeland? Do it!

  • Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain purchases Horses and property in the Lexington area as well.

  • Could be.

  • I'm quite sure she does. That's why, in 2007 during the Kentucky Derby season, she spent a say in Lexington looking into bying some more horses.

  • Could be. People don't realize the international influence these horses have. Can't wait for the 2010 Equestrian Events. They're forecasting 1/2 million people coming.

  • he owns a couple horse farms in LEX area as well

  • Not sure that he owns a few horse farms in the area, but he owns a bunch of horses on some horse farms, one of which is in Versailles which is where he stays when he comes to town.

  • Rich bastard.

  • it must be good to be a sheikh from dubai. could you imagine traveling in your own 747? that is major!

  • wow a 747 thats big for a plane at KLEX other than in 2007 when the queen of england came for the derby. not an everyday sight in lexington. COOL

  • that one was back out there to day. i got the reg. A6-HRM.

  • lexington has had some other significant aircraft visit. Concorde and Air Force One being two of them.

  • I have read,his poetry.maybe he should write a book.

  • I'm impressed someone in the US actually recognised the flag of the UAE and thus concluded the passenger was a VIP from Dubai. Just FYI, there are no princes in Dubai or UAE in general, only Sheikhs.

  • thank you. The Sheikh has come here for several years now and brings his party with him. if i'm not mistaken, when he's here he is referred to as a Prince, but we take note of the correction and address accordingly.

  • don't believe it's an air wing, just UAE 744

  • nice vid m8! dubai air wing isnt it?

  • Yes it is Dubai Air Wing

  • WHERE'S HE GOING ?

  • going back home to dubai but he doesn't go nonstop from KLEX. he has to make a stop somewhere along the east coast for fuel then nonstop to dubai. i once heard it was KIAD for the fuel stop which is only an hour from here with minimul fuel.

  • Wheres KLEX and KIAD ? Thanks

  • KLEX is Lexington, KY USA and KIAD is Washington DC Dulles Intl airport USA

  • interesting...bush was at LEX in 2003 for a fletcher fundraiser and took off from that runway in the opposite way (already in air near versailles road). interesting that the Prince didn't do the same.

  • It all depends on the prevailing winds and today they were out of the southwest.

  • depends where the wind was that day
