  • I lived very near this street, and trust me, its a huge, very highly used important road that goes across the entire southern half of Seoul. Which is where a lot of businesses and important areas. I was told by my schoolteacher that the road was named to thank Iran for selling Korea oil in a special deal when Korea needed it desperately.

  • I am surprised to how much the Koreans respect Iran. The video stated that Tehran Street is the only street in Seoul to have a foreign name. My best friend is Korean

  • Of course. In the 1980s, many Korean companies and workers went to Iran and built many buildings there.

    Since then, our two countries have a really good relationship and Iran is reall so well liked and welcome in Korean people's heart.

    So, in the 1980s the two governments decided to establish a very big street in each other's capital in order to accent the good ties between our countries.

    The clip just saud 1976 was teh year the street in Seoul was named Tehran; not in the 80's.
