Why the hell is it called the "karate" kid when he's learning and practicing Kung Fu? Karate comes from Japan, Kung Fu comes from China! This movie is set in China, Jackie Chan does Kung Fu. This movie has nothing to do with Karate!! Movie makers can't come up with anything original anymore, everything is just re-cycled over and over. Why couldn't they just call it the Kung Fu kid? I find it very disrespectful towards Kung Fu, Jackie Chan, and Chinese culture in general to call this "karate".

Jaden Smith has inherited talent from both his mother and his father, and with help is obviously developing his own style. If he doesn't get some kind of major award for this movie, something is wrong. And Jackie Chan is surprisingly good in a dramatic role. A great movie even if it does mirror almost exactly the 1983 version (by the same writer).
