  • @:59 "eh not that impressive"

    @1:01 "Holy crap awesome! D:"

  • im from mexico and i wanna replicate your experiment !! but in mexico doesnt exist mrs stuart bluing :S what kind of product is similar to use (maybe the common bleach or maybe the brand DUCK a toilet tablet) ?

    THY!!

  • Mushroom tree ...

  • is it eatable?

  • @divadavid07 You mean edible, and probably not, it contains ammonia

  • capillary action pluse evaporation

  • I don't know, therefor

    ALIENS

  • @cobra91Serbia does it work with a difrent kind of bleach??

  • does it have to be mrs stewarts bluing cant u use regular bluing???

  • dude thats awesome!

  • it looks more like a cottage cheese tree to me hahah

  • I got this in horrible science once xD

  • he has a ring!

  • @iThinkiQuestion looks like "that guy in steve spanglers science videos" has found his special someone! could it possibly be "that girl in steve spanglers science videos"?!? :o

  • crystallizing salt...

  • lol you spelled stewartʻs wrong

  • it's look like interesting

    cool experiment.... :)

  • Someone brought a kit for one of these into my mom work. It only too like 2 hours though.

  • Y U USE KEYBOARD CAT SONG?

  • i no an easier way take coli flour and put food colouring on it

  • Fungui

  • Cool

  • i was amazed @0:27

  • Happy marriage steve

  • But will it blend?

  • Wait - What would happen if you have cats that would want to eat it??? And they get on the counters a lot???

  • I have no idea

  • LOL!!

  • What is Mrs. Stuart's Blieng?

  • @PhamtasticAlena The bluing is a colloid, with many tiny particles suspending themselves within the water. It's just like when you shake up a snow globe, except the particles of bluing are much smaller than the snow. These tiny suspended particles aid the dissolved salt in crystalizing as the magic solution evaporates.

  • You spelt stewart wrong...

  • @TheMylz4life No you did lol.

  • @TheMylz4life Oh yea he did lol!

  • very nice!

  • I once bought that type of tree before so that's how you make it

  • The music is addicting ;o

  • santa comes and works his magic. JK

  • Can I eat it though?

  • I love your videos but I don't understand english

  • Holy crap

  • where can i find mrs. stewart's bluing? what if i don't have one? does it has a substitute?

  • do you need Mrs. Stuarts Bluing? If so, is there a substitute for it?

  • Can you use bleach as a substitute to bluing because Mrs.Stewart's bluing is a type of bleach

  • lol I made that In Science a couple of weeks ago

  • Fake

  • It's cauliflower!

  • amsome

  • Soaking in the stuff

  • magic *snort snor*

  • i think i figured out why it's happening, IT'S JESUS!

  • Take ingredients > Add into ocean > Ocean is solid!

  • looks like popcorn

  • the salt crystallizes. :D nice work.

  • Can I use Cloudy Amonia? Also I am in Australia and can't find Mrs Stuarts...any ideas Youtubers or Steve?

  • it was cool but why don't you stand in front of the camera and explain it like you did before

  • @ScienceBalance its just bleach

  • how did this happened? MAGIC :)

  • where can i get Mrs. Stuarts Bluing ?

is there any others ingredients ?

    thanks

  • @ScienceBalance go on amazon.com and type in mrs stuarts bluing its on there for 9 bucks

  • cool

  • those trees reminded me of something lol

  • that is gross

  • I have two questions:

    - Instead of ammonia, could one use less smelly Ethanol (it also evaporates faster then water and is quiet polar too)

    - What could one use instead of Mr. Stewart's Bluing since it is not available in Europe? Regular Bleaches often contain hydrogen peroxide and are thus unsuitable I guess. Would shampoo or showering gel work too since this usually are colloids too?

    THX for any helpful responses!

  • do you need stewarts bluing cause i dont have it

  • Is that mold or something? it looks dangerous

  • @ariana0415 Its just crystals growing on it.

  • I made this.... So, worth it. :3

  • Congrats on 400th vid!

  • Is it safe to touch? Poison????

  • Isn't that amazing?!

  • is the white thing dissperd after time ?

  • I think smeester meant diamonds

  • Hey there, could you tell me what is Mrs Stuart's Bluing? I am from Romania and I wanna find the equivalent liquid here. Thanks

  • @campurifaine Mr. Stewart's Bluing is some kind of bleach, used to make clothes more white. We don't have it here on Balkans, so I guess we can try a regular bleach...

  • what is the fastest way to speed up the process?

  • Whoa! How does that work?

  • i love ths do de do song

  • 400th video woohoo

  • 400th video woohoo

  • Very cool!!!

  • im confused.

    WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?!

  • you dont really see the food coloring in the end

  • what's mrs stuart's bluing for ???

  • you should make a video about how yo make food coloring

  • How long does it last? :o

  • whats stuart bluing?

  • wait so where can you get ammonia and mrs stuarts bluing at instead of your website considering my parents wont let me buy stuff online

  • How long does that last? but that is really cool and it would be relly fun to do!! :D

  • 400 videos!!!

  • 400 videos!!!

  • 400th video :D

  • i soo love those guys

  • I am so doing this, cool stuff!!

  • What is mrs.stewarts???

  • awesome tree

  • What would happen if you added the food coloring after the crystals grow on it?

  • You spelled Stewart's wrong :) at 0:16

  • That is awesome. :)

  • How long will it take for it to grow?

  • @swaggerrr17 It takes about 12-24 hours. The ammonia helps speed up the process, without ammonia it can take a couple days.

  • @Stevespanglerscience so ammonia is like a catalyst?

  • @Stevespanglerscience the more ammonia i get the faster the process goes

  • @swaggerrr17 uh 224 hours over night

  • Where could you get some materials ?

  • I live in UK, dont know if they even sell Mrs Stuarts liquid thing- is there any household substitute that I can use as I dont want to purchase a whole bottle of fluid in order to conduct this "experiment".

  • mind blown :D

  • What is the bluing stuff? where can I buy it? Is there an alternative to it?

  • hi

  • where do i buy ammonia and what is mr stewart bluing?

  • awsome!!!!!!!!!!

  • vie seen this before. still insanely cool

  • Saw you on Ellen like two weeks ago or something! Crazy awesome

  • is it real crystals? as in, the ones made from carbon? and the ones that people pay loads of money for?

  • @Smeester419 not all crystals are carbon, here it's salt (natrium clorid) that's crystallizes and i think it's possible to do it with sugar aswell.

It's not the same as people pay alot of money for, the kind ppl pay alot for is formed naturally or under preassure artificially.

  • @Smeester419 people wouldn't pay loads of money for them if they were,.. so, no

  • @Smeester419 No, just like salt, but not in granuales, in crystalized form

  • @Smeester419 no just a simple reaction

  • @Smeester419 Nope, those are diamonds. This is a different kind of crystal.

  • I've done this before and from experience i know: DONT GET TO CLOSE TO THE SOLUTION!

  • Can u use something different instead of that mrs Stuart's whatever stuff?

  • It has to do with ions, that's how far I can get :/

  • i definitely need to try this x3

  • The T-shirt man got married! Good for him.

  • *eats it anyway*

  • I have already done most of your videos' experiments before. However, this looks like fun, and I've never done it! Definitely trying it!

  • Woah, you hit your 400th video!! Congrats!

  • i should tell my science teacher about this but right now were learning about energy

  • wow. 300+ views in 6 hours....My videos get like 6 views 300 hours.......very well done Steve!

  • Oh i've seen this before! Its so cool!

  • Toxic fungus for the win

  • ew

  • That's awesome

  • That's why I love science!

  • That's soooooo cool!!!

  • what's the reactant in Mrs. Stewart's Bluing i need to replace it... it's not available in my country

  • ammonia... sounds safe

  • what is it- mrs. Stuart's Bluing? Explain please for non USA viewers :)

  • the salt dissolves in the water and the water gets absorbed by the cardboard and the salt goes through a chemical reactin in the water causing the salt to "grow" ?

  • fungus?...

  • science is nice :) i like it, nice video

  • GENIUS! I wish our science teachers did more things like this.

  • What is it though?

  • looks Delicious

  • Neat! I'm gonna try it.

  • their is a key word here and thats evaporation. as the solution travels up the carboard, it dries however the salt reacts with the mrs stuarts coloring and amonia and makes it look like crystals growing from the tree

  • i'd like to eat one of those:))

  • looks similar to mold. does it need those specific items, because i don't think i can get the Mr. Stuarts bluing.

  • This was your 400th video. Congratulations.

  • Holy cow.

    Thats awesome!!

Im gonna go make one right NAO!!!!111!!!!oneonetwoone!!!!!

How long does it take to "grow"?

  • Timelapse would be cool.

  • Wow Steve that is so cool! And im 21 lol. Where can I get Bluing liquid? Idk what that is...

  • Can you change the crystal's color?

  • Man, you should have done a time lapse :(

  • Cool Is that the same thing as those trees you can buy?

  • @tigerlily7898 Yes, it is.

  • what is mrs stuart bluing? we don't have it in my country

  • Wait... what? Is that cauliflower?

  • By the way that's really cool ! :)

  • Hi Steve is there any alternative to "Mrs stewarts bluing" as we don't have this in Australia. love the channel by the way!!!

  • cool what can i use insted of mrs. stuart's bluing?

  • yuk

  • What is mrs Stuarts blue because we don't have that in England

  • How much i have to add if i wanna make a real size Christmas tree? :D

  • Is the food coloring needed

  • @TheBenyamin525 Nope, just makes it pretty.

  • @Stevespanglerscience can we use a heat or some kind of thing to speed up the process?

  • @Stevespanglerscience how does it work?

  • Should I do my homework, or this?

  • Is that safe ???

  • ewww it looks like tree hands

  • What I dislike about your videos is that you always refer to things as "Magic". "Magical" tree growing solution. "Magical" rollback can. "Magic" sand.

You really can't keep the science motif if you call everything magic.

  • Safe to touch though right? Anything white and cauliflower looking makes me not wanna touch it lol

  • What happens if i eat it

  • When it said ammonia I thought it said amnesia because I was just playing dark descent :P

  • How do you dispose of it afterwards? Is it safe to throw it in the garbage when you're done with it?

(and where do you get the bluing?)

    I like it :)

  • COOL!!
