@jopem100 ..yeah probably they both do...somewhere between 8,000 and 12,000rpm as a guide......i think usually when you tune a 2stroke the power band can get smaller..ie. - between 9,000 and 9,500rpm as an extreme example, and also the edge to the power band is harsher, meaning the step up in power inside the power band is more brutal, which is bad for corners..Yamaha first tried to improve this problem with their YPVS power valve system, and other makers followed soon after. Good Question!! : )
see that KX500 have that road bike,id say he was having trouble keeping the kx front end down on take of so even then not using all its grunt,no dirt bike more meaner than a nice kx500
i used to have a fully built rm250 that would stay right next to the kx500...problem is that the mods didn`t work well together, it took about an hour of kicking it over and attempting to warm it up without fouling plugs just to ride....id rather just go with displacement.
they had kawasakis in the early 80s here in australia called mach 3s three cyl two stroke 500s and 750s. they killed lots of people and called them widow makers.very fast old bikes
mean green racing machine !!!

Yea, you can buy bigger ones for more power. I have the biggest power band you can get in my 50cc scooter! It goes 250mph!!
