The gun is empty... why the fuck would it matter if his finger is on the trigger? Is the trigger going to slip and strike the back of an imaginary round?
How much accuracy difference is there between the standard 91/30 and the M44? The M44 looks much easier to wield than the 91/30 but I'm curious how much the shorter length affects accuracy.
@Shintsu2 the 91/30 has a longer barrel,it has a longer distance and more acuracy, but the M44 is shorter,so it has shorter distance but it is also very acurate
the reason for shooting it with the bayonet extended is in the factory they were sighted in with em extended... for some reason with it closed it shoots to the left about 4 inch's at 100 yards.
ive had my M44 for several years and am still amazed at the accuracy this thing produces with iron sights.
What the hell do you say at the begining? "This is my Mosin Nagant M44,I got this rifle X?XX?XXX?X ,since I'm not 21 and dont have an FFL licence" I cant work out what the hell you say after "I got this rifle ------------- ---------- ----------"
I concur, don't refinish your M44s. High-gloss clearcoats aren't so grip-friendly when your palms start to sweat. I do realize that the original Soviet shellac isn't very grip-friendly, either, but if it's worn down then leave it be. Try to remember, you can beat the hell out of Mosins and they'll remain a reliable one-shot manstopper. If you have to quickly fire 60+ shots & the heat swells her one iota, best believe you'll be slapping that bolt around like a fifty-cent hooker to chamber rounds.
Refinishing that stock just depreciated the value of the firearm. Those "dings" are what provide historical context which makes it worth more in the future.
Well if you don't have plans on selling it go ahead and do what ever you want.Their actually pretty plentiful.but hay, every ones got their opinion.Really I took my Hungarian m44 polished the bolt, free floated the barrel really just made it user friendly.
@chevy2046 I absolutely agree and the finish on his stock his fantastic. I only posted that comment in response to the vid's point about these being collectabiles. From a collectors standpoint, historical context is important and is what gives the gun its value.
You don't need an ffl license to buy a gun, you need an FFL license to have guns shipped though. You can buy a "longgun" such as the mosing nagant, other long rifles, and shotguns when you're 18.
Hey when you redid your stock did you take the rifle apart or did you just do the stock with the rifle still attached? I have a laminated M44 with some bad nicks and I need to get it refinished
What ammunition would you reccomend for my M44 ( wich i perchased yesterday after watching these videos) particulary an online site wich I can get shipped. I could care less if its corrosive.
A safer way to "decock" that rifle would be to HOLD THE TRIGGER BACK while you close the bolt. With the trigger in the rear, the bolt rotates closed with the firing pinforward. This is the more correct way to "decock" a bolt gun.... enjoy!
Hey man. Thanks for the video. Please do not hear this wrong...but if you would be a better rifleman, please note that your trigger finger is always inserting into the trigger. A good weapons handler will keep his/her finger along the outside and not place finger on/inside trigger UNTIL ready to fire. It shows very poor shooting discipline and safety training experiences. Hey, we all learn somewhere. Shoot safe and enjoy the nagant...killed my deer with one almost 30 years ago! Gotta love 7.62.
Rabbitus, he did clear the rifle, so he knew it was empty. And I know you should always treat any firearm as if it were loaded, several operations on a Mosin require that you pull the trigger (removing bolt, decocking). There is nothing wrong with having your finger inside the trigger guard when you have cleared your rifle and you are making a video with no-one else in the room.
it doesnt seem like you know too much about your rifle i own a m44 and a 91/30.. kinda seems like u just googled it.... bean hunter is right ... "MOH-SIN NAH-GIN"
hey whats up im planning on buying an m44 um is it worth it are they fun 2 shoot please get back 2 me let me know what u think of the rifle thanks and keep the vids comeing
how often do you think i would find a pitted barrel? i got one witht a great barrel looks like its never been used.the person who used mine died i know because my gramps said so lol
the MAIN reason to shoot the gun w/ the bayonet extended is because the russians sighted the m44 w/ the intent of having the bayonet extended, thus if you have the bayonet stowed, it will mess up the harmonics of the barrel...meaning when the bullet is traveling down the barrel, if the bayonet is stored, the barrel will vibrate in such a way that will alter the accuracy of the shot.
The SKS is better than the AK-47 unless the AK is automatic. Then you need a license (unless you live in Kentucky like I do. You can get fully automatic AK's for like $400 at the flea markets here.)
You are a fucking retard. Even in states that allow civilian ownership of Class 3 items, automatics, suppressors, etc, it's still required to BE BOUGHT FROM A FUCKING CLASS 3 DEALER. You are NOT finding unmodified assault rifles at flea markets. Hell, you won't even be able to find them at MOST gun shows.
I doubt you have ever touched a gun except the picture in a magazine. Just your statement of "The SKS is better than the AK unless the AK is automatic." Proves your epic fuckretardery.
The AK-47 is more of a machine gun than an assault rifle. It's MADE for fully automatic firing. So unless it's capable of being fired fully automatic, it's just an inaccurate rifle. And I have touched MANY guns. If you looked at my videos instead of guessing that I've never touched one, you would know. Oh and I believe we Marines kinda SPECIALIZE in touching guns most of our careers? I don't know you tell me fucktard.
Don't call yourself a Marine until you've been to graduation. You do not have the right. If you had paid more attention to the Occ Fields avaliable (I made sure to check opMOSs before signing)you'd realize that most Marine jobs, like Army, are non-combat related. Did you pick a D-Com job? If not, you will only do regular Quals. You're 20, long career you've had there. My problem is that SKS's aren't any more accurate at 16 inches of barrel. And you can't buy 3-hole AKs at a flea market.
wow nice finish i use the same stuff to refinish my rifles came out great. what u can do is scrub out gently with a cleaning rod with a wire brush and that will scrub out some of the crap and corosion and shine the bore up nice i had to do that with one of my 91/30/s. ur rifle has nice milling

M44 is a head shot gun at 100 yards 91/30 is a forehead or better at 100 yards. open sights of course.
swampAssTurquoise 1 year ago
@swampAssTurquoise uh, no. length of barrel doesnt = accuracy. It just has a longer sight radius making it easier for tigher groups.
mifslim 1 year ago
If the bayonet is folded in you could put a protective cover on it or something.

i have a 9130 and a m44, both very accurate and fun to use.
the real reason for shooting with your bayonet out is because it increases accuracy.(this pertains mostly to this rifle)
i wouldnt worry too much about the bolt either these are very durable rifles and mine will probably outlast me.
