Public spending at the cost of jobs in the private sector oil and gas industry. The economy is hurting because private industry is hurting. Increased taxes on those who pay for it all is just going to make the recession longer, deeper and the value of the dollar less.

The govt has only a few ways to directly make jobs: govt jobs, contracts for specific projects, and giving out grants. Govt+union+academics=Dem votes. Other jobs come by funding companies in all sectors to hire people. The only way to do that is to cut taxes.

So whats next a World War? When Hitler got in power, he stimulated the economy with a miriad of infastructure projects. But after some years it was all dust in a crazy pointless war. Making smaller shifts will give more people jobs, more time for their kids and for their constant education, it will allow young people to get in the market while studying, while costing more only to the Corporations. The middle and small size companies will benefit, because they themselves will have an overall better life. Now making roads where no one askes them is not that cool.
