great! what are those controlers? are they router spead controlers or high wattage dimmers? do you have them hooked to the fan as well as the elements so that the elements are getting preposionate control? i have been thinking of getting a variac but if this works good and is cheeper... i found a west bend poppery at the salvation army today!
You are way ahead of me in sophistication. I am still hand holding the heat gun and roasting by feel. Not always consistant results, though. I will now add a thermocouple.
How did you wire the bread machine to keep the motor running constantly?
I'm no superman, I grabbed the red plyers to pick up the handle, then a small crecent wrench to catch the bottom. You can see both of them on the bench.
Don't mess with the thermometer, get a thermocouple. I think if there was any rigid protrusion into the beans, lower than the stirring paddle, it would get bent out of shape.
Why is the breadmaker / heatgun approach so popular? I don't get it. It's the most retarded setup ever. :p

Yes indeed. Drill it higher than the stirrer.
My stirrer is stock height.

That's a good idea. Maybe come in about .25 inch from the corner and .5 inch above the stirrer? Let me know how you like it!

You seem to be able to withstand heat more than most of us. No way can I handle my tub bare handed or touch the beans prior to cooling.
Your video has given me an idea. Drill a hole in the side of the BM directly into the tub and place the thermometer into it.
Great job!
