  • One of my favorite boss themes in the whole castlevania series

  • When Death appeared in this game, it made me shit my pants. He looked so scary compare to the original Castlevania.

  • Jesus, how much caffeine did the guy on the harpsicord have??

  • "Room of Close Associates"? Sounds like a mafia club.

  • This ish is sinister, yet magnificent!!

  • Belle musique

  • This song is composed by the fucking Devil.

  • Good Lord, I just love the sound of that piano. It's the same piano for several songs in this game. The strokes on it sound so antique and old.

  • This theme is boss, quite literally XD

  • Oh man! This music! Brings back so many memories. I remember shattering my way through the first two bosses of the final confrontation, and I'm like, "Where's Death??!"

Then... as I move on, here comes the joining shadows, and there he is! Kicked my ass, lol. Only the true adventurers of this game will fight Death the non-cheesy way and actually throw down with him.

  • about as heavy metal as it gets.

  • Lyrics: Dulululululululululululululu Dululululululululululululululululululululu Dulululululululululululululu Dulululululululululululululu do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do duuu duuu duuuuuu duuuuu duuuu duuuuuu duuuuuuu duuuuuuu duuuuuuuuuuuuu duuuuuuuuuuuuu duuuuuu duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, hu hu hu hu hu hu hu hu hu hu hu hu dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun

  • Welcome to Hell

  • I found that if you use the cross against death, it really ruins him. but you gotta be careful on your timing else you'll die faster than he will.

  • Slogra & Gaibon. Pals 4Ever

  • Reminds me of the first time I played through this part. I beat Deah on my first try. After I got a game over thanks to Dracula I tried again and couldn't beat Deah in like 30 tries.

  • like it when you love this game!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ...the epic music being the Dracula boss fight theme, kindly uploaded by constantlimit as well :)

  • Anyone remember the best part of the whole game? After about a zillion deaths, you finally beat the grim reaper. He shatters before your eyes, the music stops - and you go up the stairs, where the torches lighten themselves, the epic tune starts, and you know that now is the time to finally face Dracula.

I still shit my fuck when I think of this moment.

  • I knew right when I first heard this music that the final encounter with Dracula was not too far off.

  • death has been in more castlevania games then dracula it seems

  • @Tails4543 thats because death in this game is soooo cool!! and they keeped his origonal design

  • The dreadful knight, the dragon and the Death.....and then Dracula. I love this music alot.

  • epic music but such an easy boss

  • everytime death shoots his sickles he goes hohohoho!!! fuckin hilarious hahahaha

  • i cant even explain how long it took me to get up that fucking diagonally floating platform section to get into the room with slogra.

  • Slogra > Death > Dracula > That dragon thing

Back when I was a kid that was the difficulty order for me.

  • vs 3 bosses, vs death wuakakakakaka u death ;)

  • welcome to hell

    you play you pay -:)

  • With this song you forget your enemy is Dracula and think you're facing Satan.

  • dude immagine if this was on guitar hero. youd fail the fckin beggining XD thats like 1/128 notes LOL

  • @gibson82650 u better be goro soo u can have some xtra fingers to play this tune

  • @darktemplar1010 dude im so charting this for FOFIX aaaaand its impossible. theres not enough space

  • I would have enjoyed these battles more if Konami ditched the extra health candles.

    Way too easy

  • @achmedlolol Because the games forces you to take them sure lmfao

  • @TheSolBlader

No, of course its optional to pick up the extra health. My point is that it feels less like a terrifying adrenaline rush with all that food lying around

  • I love all your comments ^^

    Nintendo fans FTW forever! <3

  • One of my favorite tracks, hands down.

Everything about the gauntlet is ethereally infernal and alluringly beautiful at the same time. Stories high off of the ground, you enter Dracula's Keep, and first off, his suite, with windows peering out into the horizon, the sun about to rise, like if it was looking into heaven. Then, you get to the balcony, where the moon hangs in the distance like a painting. But it's not over yet. Then, the third floor, into the dark depths above, where Death waits.

  • I Love This Game SO Much!! And I Want To Play It Again...

  • @FoxxxDante1 if you have a Wii, you can download it from the virtual console!

  • @FoxxxDante1 mediafire(.)com/?8kf4afbn09kae7n ;o enjoy

  • @gibson82650 Oh, Thank You ^^

  • @FoxxxDante1 made that just for you XD classic super SNES pack of games c: have fun

  • @gibson82650 Aww, You're So Kind! Thank You!!

  • The two people that have disliked this video/music should be ashamed!

  • No matter how strong Death was, he had the best boss intro in the entire game.

  • @ravenousking19 Yeah, when I first saw him I literally shit my pants and my uncle (who was playing it as well) got angry at me.

  • IMO, the difficulty goes like this, starting with the hardest:

    Slogra > Dracula > Death > Gaibon

  • Dracula is kinda easy; just use the whip shield on the fireballs and learn the thunder pattern.

  • Death was harder!

  • wat a tune.i love the way they gave boss after bosss till the end.that haw you master this game!!!

  • super castlevania 4 has great music

  • I would love to see this track remix by jordan rudess of dream theater!!!

  • to me that skeleton was the hardest boss in the game, that skeleton with long mouth,u know, with a spear, not the one in the 1st lvl,in this lvl...

  • @MotherPunker970 ikr? i died no many times on him and i beat death in 3 tries

  • @bluedarknut i beat two remaining bosses on my first try,but then it took me like 20 tries to make a strategy on dracula...now ive beaten the game with no walkthroughs and im so proud of myself xD

  • @MotherPunker970 it's name is Slogra ; p

    Quite a recurring Castlevania Boss/enemy

  • @MotherPunker970 It looks like a pterodactyl.

  • well by god, I never would have Imagined that this track would be called "the room of close associates." how cool. I remember playing this eons ago. I was fucking amazed and elated (as a timpanist) that there could be timpani sounds in video games all of a sudden

  • o and that eerie synth sound of course

  • This needs to return in Harmony of Despair.

  • master chief is not as manly as the contra man.

the contra man is not as manly as simon belmont

  • Interesting title, room of close associates. So it seems Slogra and Gaibon are up there with Death in evil rank. Demons brought straight from hell to fight against Simon. So cool.

  • This song roughly translates into:

You got to the end, you dared to play, WELCOME TO HELL!!!

  • This would fit so well in a sword and sorcery movie.

  • I didn't find Death hard at all, considering you can swing your whip to block the little scythes. I thought it was easy as hell compared to Castlevania 1

  • Dracula himself as a game boss is nothing in comparison to what the three bosses in this level have done to anyone who's played through this game.

  • Love the beat at 1:10. Whole songs awesome though.

  • DeAtH is coming for YOUUUU!!!!!!

  • Someone needs to orchestrate this...IMMEDIATELY

  • @BLOODBANE678 im working on a NoteWorthy composer one. it sounds kinda crappy, but i will try!

  • Sounds so eerily Satanic. But then agin, that's what Castlevania music should sound like, a hapischord playing madly to send a chill to your spine while you fight off a skeleton wielding a spear/gun, a gargoyle, and Death itself.

  • not even death can fuck with simon belmont!

  • holy shit, this music is hardcore, im serious, how can anyone compose something like this, ill tell ya, contacting satan.

  • Slogra literally, took me 40 tries for me to beat him....damn i suck at this game, but i still beat it.....

  • seriously though i fount death not so hard. Dracula is harder than him. C i just stay in the same spot u enter in and jump and whipped up. That vortez scyhte trowing thing cant hit u if you stand there, and destorying those small styhes was easy and it only took 2 trys to kill him while the first i played the game, it took 10 tries not in the same spot so yea.

  • Am I weird if I involuntarily headbanged a little to this?

  • @dmh091 I did!!!! lol

  • A walk into US Congress ;P?

    Naaahhhh!

    Game music for life ^-^v

  • 2 people couldn't outrun the buzzsaw

  • Awww did 2 modern gamers click the dislike button?

  • I always fought the Grim Reaper moving around. Standing still in one place the whole time wasn't fun at all. But yeah, there was an easier though slower way of beating him. Gaibon I think was pretty easy. I beat him the first time I fought him. Slogra was tough in the beggining, but he has the same moves. After you destroyed his staff (fairly easy, you had to duck all the time), you had to whip him from a distance, run to the other side of the room, whip him again, run to the other side. Repeat.

  • Whenever I got to this part as a kid I was so stoked cause that damn spinning wheel of doom part was so hard for me!

  • @Nack289 Death has ALWAYS been harder than Dracula - i remember back on the original NES version, i NEVER thought i was going to beat that fucker and his bullshit scythes.....

  • @maraisreq

you can't cheat/escape death so yeah I can see why that is! man I hated fighting that bastard. killed him once, only to have one of his scythes double back and kill me in the processes

  • memories........

  • from 0:48 to 1:11 is Fucking EPIC! the most awesome part is 0:56 THAT gives me the frigging Chills!! every time i hear that section i can remember and see Death throwing me that scythe.

the drums of this game are something amazingly epic

  • @infectedkoozer ha so right crazy harsicord buildup into epic drums like wow

  • This music tells you " You're fucked"

  • @ringthatkill LOL same thoughts, when I first played this I was like "oh shit I really don't like the music here." Then all of a sudden I'm fighting three different bosses not to mention the part with the falling stairs and veritcally moving screen before the boss fights. Then just when you thought you had enough after defeating Death himself you see the same set of stairs in every classic CV game by then you would know what's next.

  • @ringthatkill It also tells you to use end punctuation.

  • the starting of this track sounds like that old melodrama silent movie music, You know, the guy in a black top hat and cape tying the damsel to the railroad tracks

  • once this music came on in game i was like "oh shit here we go" lmfao the last 3 bosses are fucking tough 0.0 XD

  • @TheMasterflash1

I only found the Slogra and Reaper hard (Back when I was a kid) that middle dragon one was a n00b, at least for me.

  • Death was fairly easy after i discovered his one flaw in his attack pattern. though it took about like 30 tries to beat him

  • I hear this track and get all stressed out and pressured! Oh the humanity!

  • I can go through the whole game with out using continuous. that changes when i hit this level.

  • Slogra, a brillaintly diabolical creation requiring careful strategy. If you don't keep your distance after shattering his staff you'll always take an excess amount of damage. I would know from embaressing experience, in one instance I managed to perish x6 times.

However in these days the abundance of drumsticks is particularly annoying, nowhere near as brutally demanding as the NES counterparts.

  • The most intense moment in the game. Facing the last bosses, one after another. When I was about 8, I hated seeing my older brother (15) take them down, and when it was my turn, was a disaster. A few years later, I finally managed to defeat them.

  • Slogra and Death were freaking difficult >.<

  • I tried to throw the axe at Death and it keeps disappearing before it reaches him or even before I throw it. Guess that's a downfall for using items against the Grim Reaper. His powers banishes them. And yeah, Dracula isn't that hard. Death is harder.

  • Such fitting music, especially considering that you face the most inevitable boss of all: Death! If you didn't die after battling two bosses in a row...well, you may just die when you face death.

  • This and symphony have the most fitting soundtracks out of the games. Not to say that the others are bad at all, I just really feel like the music always matched the moment and area for those two in the series.

  • I love this game soooo much!!!

  • slorga was such a son of a bitch, way harder than every other bosses there

  • Man, I remember being excited and nervous when I finally made it to that place. This is still one of the best games I have ever played and nothing will change that.

  • triple Boomerang, baby - the bane of ALL bosses

  • its amazing that every song in old school snes and megadrive games always seem to fit the scene/level perfectly.

these days alot of people listen to their cd's while playing a game... back then you wouldnt need to, because the music is too awesome, and adds to the overal gamin experience. \m/

  • Try to play that fast on a guitar!

  • Aaa man this is so freaking nuts. I love it.

  • This game and the music was very ahead of it's time.. This was amazing for something released in 1991...

  • It's the best music in this game. Before Simon's Belmont's theme.

  • Magnificent game.

  • Comment removed

  • Has this never been orchestrated or played back by a band? So many themes have their modern counterpart, this one is more than worthy too I find! Awesome music!

  • What made Slogra hard is his second phase. He's nigh-guaranteed to get a few hits on you with that charging attack of his once he loses his spear.

  • 0:48 : perfect place for a drum blastbeat. This music seems appropriate to me for a black metal band...

  • I always thought of Slogra's room as a library, an evil arcane library with all the secrets you never were meant to know. As differentiated from the regular library in level 7. I don't know why I thought this, maybe the museam misenscene with Slogra being sorta a dinosaur.

Then Gaibon fights you in a bell tower observatory, and then Death fights you in a select dinner theatre. Select because, who would be welcome for a show and drinks at a place so high in the castle? Hinted by the tables

  • it,s so amezing what konami dit in the early day,s of the snes,no doubt this game pushed the snes soundchip barely ti it,s limmit.

it also proved the great hardware capability,s of the snes.

  • For me, this might be a suprise, Slogra was the easiest of the three. :/ I died at Slogra twice, died at Gaibon four times, and died at Death (XD) 10 times!

  • @purppanther

yea slogar was easy you just had to duck when he did that spear fire thing and whip away the others was definelty harder

  • lol BEST NAME SONG!!!!

    2 personnal guard!!!and his wife....

    i always think like that...

  • Slogra and Gaibon, best buds for life

  • Till death do they part!

    oh wait.

    lol

  • lenny and karl!!!!!!!!

  • @Ironsharp tru dat

  • @Ironsharp Aww.. Too bad they got demoted in later games.

  • @Ironsharp yea they can die in hell and enjoy the rest of eternity in hell

  • I can't figure out why everyone is saying Death is so hard to beat -- staying on the left side of the room for most of the battle always guaranteed a win for me. It was always Slogra that kicked my ass. There's just not enough time or room to maneuver with that thing.

  • Who's death? Is he's the Grim Reaper?

  • Yeah, he's been called both over the series. I just think in general it's more hilarious to include 'Death' in casual commentary. "Yeah, I dodged Death with a backwards leap and a shot with my whip."

  • @Chaeley

Hahaha man, I never thought of it that way, in fact I call him "the Death" but that was awesome. I couldn't stop laughing. : )

  • I don't remember any of them being hard at all.

  • Staying on the left side of the room behind those blocks and timing your attack makes him so easy it robs the fun and challenge of it. But if you fight him straight up he is tough.

  • It's tough 'fighting him straight up' because all fights are harder when you don't use any strategy in them. No mystery there.

  • @WTL1193

If you mean Death, then yes, you're right. I beat him without using the blocks, which was hard. And using the blocks makes it too easy and not challenging.

  • Grim Reaper <3 hard as shit...

  • Is there any other piece of music in the world that uses "speed harpsichord"?

  • Could we go as far as saying "Thrash harpsichord?" Or even, hypersichord?

  • just listen this song in dobly surround and you will be blown away.

you|| will realize the power of the snes.

it has besides the sony spc700 8bit a 16bit dsp soundchip running at 24 mhz whoooaaaahhh!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, like everyone has said. The Grim Reaper was crazy hard.

  • Comment removed

  • Death was harder than Dracula...

  • This is against Death then right? I remember thinking that for Death to only take away HP seemed limited. It's like it should directly take your soul away or something lol. Beyond removing HP.

  • @Nack289 Indeed... Indeed.

  • @Nack289 i have so much hate for him! the bastard with his magic pull thing and his impossible to defend against miniscyths

  • @Nack289 tienes razon :S

  • @Nack289 fucking agreed

  • @Nack289 amen, man.....a-fucking-men!!

  • @Nack289 agreed

  • @Nack289 You kidding? I beat death on my 2nd try. You just slap the shit out of him. Dracula, on the other hand... he ruined my sleep cycle.

  • @johnross456 yes both ur hard but drac was the boss

  • @johnross456 dracula was easy for me, and death was hard. lol

(If you know the secret area under dracula's place, it would be easier for u, with the boomerang...

  • @johnross456 hahaha i hear ya'

  • The Grim Reaper (a.k.a.) Death always has been the hardest boss in Castlevania. Castlevanias 1 through 4 for sure. Also very creepy and scary... I don't think slogra was that difficult... Just my opinion. He was fast, but if you got used to his moves, you could beat him easily. This song still gets to me and the Grim Reaper made some creepy sounds as well. Awesome.

  • My ranking of hardest bosses in this level (Hardest to easiest)

    Slogra

    Death

    Gaibon

  • As a drummer myself I listen alot closer 2 the drums then others. I must say the drums in Castle4 are great especialy on this track. I cant wait till I get good enought 2 play this on my electric kit. Im suprised no one has posted something like that. I think it would be badass. Vadrum did it with Mario Bro on a real kit and he is amazing. Check his shit out, you will not be let down.

  • this shit was like, the most epic series of throwdowns.

  • HELL to the yes

  • THIS made me fight for the next level, which I found out that this was it!!!!! No turning back from the regular levels.... Live or die in a world of vampire hunters

  • The close associates steal from Dracula's treasury room level!!

  • This level really bothered me(all those bosses *shudders). Still a great song though

  • i was like 10yo and close to pee my pants when i heard this music and saw the grim reaper for the first time, that was WTF

  • .. but still epic, best videogame of all times

  • who the hell was the first boss in that level? i know its a skeleton, but from what? i think its from a lizard

  • it's slogra!!

  • This music flat out gives me chills. So does remembering the room it played in.
