I had the problem that bootmgr is compressed (had it before to fix type your root directory for your vista on command prompt off your vista dvd and type

bootrec /fixboot

and then

bootrec /fixmbr

)

but it still wasn't activated but the update came up and I hid the update,

when i reboot, it started whatever successful then near the end in the black screen with some scripts and waited and it came out failed then i going into a box with Choose which system to boot but i press any buttons nothing happened. I hope you can help me??

This is brilliant! It fixed all of the problems i had with my vista. However u didnt mention that the download is a RAR file and u would need somthing like Bitzipper to open it. Apart from that it worked perfectly. Thanks.

I know. I followed the guide as I did it on another computer. After reboot, I checked and it still said I have 30 days remaining so I tried to enter the serial that popped up during the crack and I got that message. It's alright. Don't worry about it. It's a good guide and it seems to have worked fine for plenty of people. I think I just have an odd version of Vista.
