Figured out the name of the slower drying acrylics. Golden: OPEN Acrylics. Quote: "GOLDEN OPEN Acrylics are a slow-drying formulation with a slightly softer consistency than GOLDEN Heavy Body paints. The increased working time of these colors expands their range to include more traditional techniques once only possible with oils."

I believe she states she uses liquitex on another video. "Liquitex dry...fast", I am talking a couple of minutes faster than W&N, etc. I find 3 extra minutes makes quite a bit of difference when blending on the canvas. Notice, she puts her base color down and blends that area immediately and doesn't return to that area. A spray water bottle is essential to working with acrylics but you have to experiment how much water helps blend and when it is too much. I like using a sponge brush also.
Well, I would explain exactly how to blend colors but it's actually quite difficult to put into words...all I can say is practice and persistance...Good Luck!
Hello, i really enjoyed this video, could you please explain to me how exactly you blend colours please? I am struggling doing this. I would appreciate this soo much, Thank you for your time and great video, 5*
YoungGuitar, She is using liquitex which has a fairly long drying time compared to other acrylics which helps with blending. If your paint is drying before you can blend, your brand may be the issue. Otherwise, you can put 2 colors side by side, do a squiggly motion down between the 2 and drag across the squiggly. Maybe that makes sense.

What "other" acrylics? Liquitex Acrylics dry really fast. Depending on how thick you lay them down of course. I use the Concentrated ones in the little plastic jars, but they dry REALLY quick..
I've heard about others that dry slower or require oven curing, Golden something or other.. Fill us in.
I only usually have trouble blending large areas.
