Relax your arm and use more of a up and down stroke when doing your octaves, the single note stuff is great.
But the sound has to many down strokes and it makes one work to much, the sweeping motion with your arm is more economical and you will hear the feel instantly, just try it for a while and you will see it becomes second nature.
