Hmm... If you take that color you'll notice the edges are darker than the center. Its like the color is a shading but yet its a solid color I'm going to try to take that color and bring it onto a different OS and see how it looks there.
Urm... that trick is like _old... Knew that when I was 10yo or something, and it should work with most videostreams. (Windowns Media Player, WinTV, ect.)
i ran across something similar to this just under an hour ago... i was using windows movie maker to take frame by frame screen shots of a video to make an animated GIF for my myspace and this problem happened... it was quite annoying at the time...
