  • Absolutely amazing! I just love it :-)

  • i count all 295 cars good job.

  • Wow, thats one monster. I counted and came up with:

    3 ES44AC Locomotives

    99 Well Platforms

    2 ES44AC Locomotives (DPU)

    98 Well Platforms

    2 ES44AC Locomotives (DPU)

    98 Well Platforms

    2 ES44AC Locomotives (DPU)

Total of 295 cars and 9 engines.

  • That would suck if that monster went into emergency right in the middle of town :p

  • Damn..... Never seen anything like that (I like East of Chicago in Indiana). Very nice video.. Many thanks...

  • 295 cars wow that is the longest train I have seen on youtube

  • I do not want to drive in front of this. D:

  • I believe this was an concept train that UP was testing.

  • - I feel sorry for those poor souls there shall wait at a railway-crossing on that trains pathway, 295 Cars and 9 machine-units that awesome.

  • I liked the video but would like to dislike because a vast majority of those containers if not all of them contained imports

  • the longest train in the wordl? it's crazyyyyyyyyyy

  • @Nathanrailfan they don't, they get on four wheelers and drive the train, but they usually have a designated person with good eyes to do it so they depart faster. I saw it on extreme trains so no arguments.

  • @theorangelemons Nathan is talking about having to walk the train if something goes wrong in transit. They do not take 4 wheelers with them. You saw it on extreme trains? And you think that is a good resource? LOL.

  • how old do u have to be to apply for up?

  • Makes for a nice vid, but lots of crews are gonna be unemployed by trains that length.

  • @sjtom57 And if they don't run longer trains more efficiently, those containers will go out on the highway and even more crews will be lost.

  • 295

  • I feel sorry for the conductor if he had to walk this train.

  • unbelievable, great footage.

  • Great video Slug96! Good quality footage and a camera, sans movement. Thanks for posting this!!

  • i will hate if i was like a fire man and then getting stuck behind the gate and waiting for the train to go by

  • nice man that thing is long and is coasting down hill : D and it has dpu's in the middle and back man this train is hauling a**

  • Thank you for amazing video! Unbelievable sight thanks to your 5 star work!

So much power to move so many containers at speed to keep up with consumer demand for food, goods and luxuries. You showed how it works - massive beautiful engineering and teamwork so that we can have anything from anywhere, within days. Awesome!

  • GE is good

  • I gonna laugh if it goes 10 mph.

  • hmm can that fit in any sidin in america or the world well austrailia has some big ones but idk about that

  • I see the locomotives in various places in the middle. Are they powered (and working in multiple with the front locos) or just there in case the train needs to be split?

  • The locomotives in the middle are DPU's (Distributed Power Units). The engineer in the lead unit can control the power sets from a computer.

  • @Espee9180 that is a great fact to know I had no idea what dpu stood for

  • Awesome video, wow 9 Diesel locomotives and 295 Railroad Cars!!!!! great shot 5*****

  • 2 sets of Mid-Train DPU's?!?! dang thats epicly monsterus!! 5*****!

  • And on the rear

  • LMAO - that was ridiculous! Great vid and wouldn't like to be stuck at the crossing waiting for it to pass!

  • awesome catch!

  • Thanks!

  • thats crazy.. how do they fit this in the yard?

  • An endless wall of containers!! That's awesome!

  • My gosh! 307 cars and the two set of mid train DPU's. Haven't seen one like that in a while. nice catch.

  • its 295 cars..Thanks!

  • Lol! Sorry my bad.

  • great catch

  • That's the longest freight I've even seen. I also never seen any train with 3 sets of DPU's. I wonder who had to wait for this to go by a crossing. Hope there very patient.

  • man ive had to sit at a crossing with a 135 car up coal doing 1.3 mph

  • around twenty five min to be exact

  • nice catch I dont think I'll be seeing something this long my way here in Idaho, fingers crossed!! LOL!

  • Great video, David! I see Amtrakboy's head too. lol

also someone front of you, he looked like waiting for #2 or just a railfan?

  • lol. Waiting for #2. Thanks Snuffy!

  • What only 18,000 feet? haha Awesome video. Hope they start running some more of these guys. Would give an awesome shot up around Tehachapi or Cajon.

  • Sweet.

  • Thanks Alex!

  • wow thats huge

  • DAMN!! that was a HUGE train! 5 stars!!

  • My god! I've heard of monster trains, where you've got over 400 axles or something like that.. but this is EPIC! I would hate to be the non-railfan stuck at a grade crossing while this beast is going up-grade! Awesome awesome awesome video, I can't believe that. 60MPH and it takes 4 minutes to pass. Wish they ran one like this out here on the NS or CSX. This reminds me of the Conrail test "monster" freights on the curve in the 80s, with two sets of SD45's. Awesome video 5*!

  • there like 3 or 4 crossing by the station...Thanks!

  • Dude! That was insane! Wow!

  • Lol that came thru here on the gila sub

  • God Damn!

  • Holy fuckin shit, 3 sets of DPU's and 3 and half miles long, imagine if he were just crawling along, also tell danny to get out of the shot, lol

  • lol. Thanks Larry!
