  • i love love love these her guns they fit perfect in my hand and they are so smooth!

  • I wish they would do away with double/single action and allow a 1911 style thumb safety so it can be carried Locked and Cocked. Love the FNP Tactical cause it gives both options.

  • If you were to take a 45 ACP pistol into combat (lets say hostile conditions, dirt, sand, water, etc.) what pistol would you choose? (this is directed towards anyone with an opinion)

  • TRIPPLE KILL!!!!!!!

  • hey hickock, you know how you said you can put your hand more higher then the 229, well i think they raised the grip higher on later gens. ( i think i remember sig saying they did this on the p220 26 & 29 models ) the 229 i just bought a couple weeks ago seems like your hand is upper then my cousins old 229 was but then i haven't held it or any older sig in a long time so...

  • hickok45,,,you are the fuckin man,,,,These videos are awsome, and regardless of my knowledge of firearms, its not a normal day unless i come home from work and watch a review from you. you are a pistolero sir,,,awsome shot

  • for hickok45, dear sr, please make a video of promag magazines!!!, please!!!!

  • i laughed at your trigger guard joke

  • i love the 1911 and the beaver-tail makes it almost look like the 1911

  • The only problem with the SIGs is the price... The price isn't attractive enough to be the most popular... But it's still getting there. ^.^"

  • @ANYONE3041937kyc Hey Moment Sig. Is a Swiss Industry and its Made in Swiss this Pistols

  • What kind of ammo did you use in this video?

  • Love that pistol, got quite an old one that was made in my hometown Eckernförde northern Germany. I'd be curious if there is a difference in quality between the german made and the american made ones, do you got any knowledge about that?

  • Sigs always seem to be sighted so low shooting...

I wonder if it isn't for defensive reasons, where it's documented that so many people tend to shoot excessively high under stress? That and the rust resistance of some of the parts are the only things that get me.

I have an adjustable rear on my P226 and no matter how high I set that sight, I still have to hold with the front dot over the target and high by about 2-3" even at 15 yards.

  • Anyone else see Hickok get hit by a shell casing at 0:37? :P

  • Since you don't like the DA/SA, why don't you try their DAK? I would love it if you could review that.

  • Try one of those 220 match sigs sometime :o)

  • I want to buy a Sig P220 as my first firearm for home protection and range use. Anybody have good recommendations online for buying one brand new for a good price?

  • @getklopowed What state are you in? I actually have one for sale.

  • @redneck8125 TX

  • buddy has a sig 220 might see if he wants to let it go. ive already bought a few off of him

  • Please make a video of you making music with the gongs that would be hularious!

  • I wonder how you'd like their DAK (DAO) trigger...

  • I am new to shooting and just tried out the Sig 220 yesterday. It was the first .45 that Ive shot and I admit I probably had too tight of a grip on it at first but once I got a feel for it and relaxed I really enjoyed it. In all honesty, thus far Im partial to the HK USP .40 but no complaints on the Sig. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work.

  • SWISS GUN's ... yeah :)

  • great!

  • lol i want my range set up like yours!!!! knock over one target? not to worry! there's 80 more where that came from!!!

  • I just picked up a sig p220 equinox, can't wait to shoot it, thanks for your great review .

  • @hickok45 if you don't like the DA/SA on the Sigs, why not try the SAO?

  • A friend of mine gave me the opportunity to use his P220 for target practice. I've been mulling over a few candidates for my first pistol in .45 and since I can't seem to decide between the P220 and the Glock 21, I figure I'll get both :)

  • then i preffer single action

  • @hickok45 Ok I understand thanks for your answer ! So it's really about carrying a "ready to shoot" weapon... A question again... When you shoot that first round with a DA, is the round already in the chamber ? Or is it the action on the trigger that makes the round goes into the chamber just before being shot ?? Thanks !

  • @locknloadbitch All the double action does is allow the weapon to fire when decocked. There should already be a round in the chamber. If you don't have one in the chamber, pulling the trigger on DA only pulls the hammer back, not the slide, which is required to move in order to chamber a round.

  • And by the way, how safe is that decocker ? (I know you said it IS !) but it's scary to see that hammer moving you know !

Does this system only exists on double action pistols ?

  • Hi hickok45 ! I new to guns, and there's something I don't understand... Why is the Double action a problem since you can operate the gun as a simple action ??

  • @locknloadbitch, It's the fact that from the holster, the first two shots, arguably the most important shots one might ever fire, involved two different trigger pulls. That's about it. At the range, it doesn't matter that much.

  • @hickok45 Why can't the first shot be single action? Do you have to put the hammer down first or something?

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown Well most people carry it with the hammer down for safety, (thats the way the military does it i believe, and most law enforcement.

because alot of Da/Sa guns dont have safetys, so decocking the hammer is the safest way.

  • @hickok45 hey hickok45 i have a sig p220 classic and i have the combat night sights and i know that the night sights are designed for you to aim for the point of impact to be in the middle of the dot on the front sight instead of at the top of the white dot like you do with the regular sights like are on the sig p220 classic 22lr conversion when i shoot it seems like i am hitting low still sometimes please explain the proper way to use those sights for me i would really appreciate it

  • @locknloadbitch

    your name is badass

  • Love it. Have the compact elite myself, SA only. As far as DA/SA handguns, I thought it was just a design decision, but after being around more guys who carry, it seems like a marketing decision. While I (and others) prefer "cocked and locked" 1911 style carry, it makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Even guys who enjoy the 1911 are a little freaked when they see us carrying one "properly" . I suppose the DA option is a good way to break into their market share, eliminating the problem.

  • I have a Sig P 245 made in Germany (not only the frame), the minor sister of 220.

The magazine is original and is made in Italy...!

  • loved the description!

  • @SourLikeWorms Yes it is.

  • Mr. Hickok45, I understand that you are slightly biased towards Glocks. After all they do benefit from a higher grip to barrel ratio. However I humbly ask..."If" possible that you "review" (shoot) the USP .45 to compare controllability, comfort, and ultimate "gong" or "animal" accuracy compared to the G21 and the P220. Thank you.

  • Theres never soda at hickok's house

  • Is this the current side arm from the Japanese army?

  • @SourLikeWorms Yes, it is the current Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force sidearm. They use a 9mm variant.

  • My 226 .40 cal malfunctioned a few times, only with Winchester ammo, it will shoot Magtech and Federal ALL day no problems, but Winchester just gunks it up

  • A Sig Sauer is what i want in my hulster when a Zombie virus breaks out!! :D

  • That's a great gun, any chance you can get your hands on a P220 carry SAO to test?

  • the sig p220 carry elite dark does come with houge grips but they are custom houge aluminum grips not these after market houge rubber grips. another sweet video on an amazing firearm

  • The Sig 220 is one of the most accurate out of the box shooters out there.

I actually shoot this better than I did my G19. I am issued and carry 230gr Hydra Shock ammo in my Sig

  • At 0:47- Two with one shot! ha

  • Hickock... You're old but still a guy one wouldn't (and shouldn't) fuck around with :)

    Peace and health to you!

  • いつも元気で、楽しそうですね↑

  • Love this video. Just found out about Hickok45 a few weeks ago by browsing youtube. I had an Xdm 45 but didnt like the way the mags secured in the magazine well. Watched Hickok45 on this video and soon after went out and ordered a Sig p220 elite dark, no problems with rear sight comeing loose by the way. First shot at a beer bottle at 15yrds boom broken glass and so on. Great gun think its a long time keeper. Semper Fi America.

  • it's so discouraging to see you miss so many shots at the gong with the 220...that's it, you've got a faulty gun return it to sig.

  • LOL why am i talking without reloading? that's what i was thinking!!!

  • The SIG 220 is one of the greatest semi auto pistols available at any price.... Nothing like the sound of 45's clanging against those metal targets... Sounds like a fine symphony to me...

  • Have the grips improved for the 220? I bought one brand new in 1999 or 2000 and the gun was superb; the factory grips were smooth and slippery (hated them)...I had a 226 and it had nice sandpapery texture (stippling) but the 220 grips did not...

  • hey can you do one of a sig p2022

  • Wish u were my grandpa!!

  • @TheJosh9150 I‘d wish toooooo!But I don't think Big John is ready!

  • You waste so much perfectly good soda.

  • sigs are classy

  • You talk about the DA/SA trigger pull, what do you think about the trigger pull/reset on the P226R DAK???

  • Hickok, you should pick up a SIG P210 "Neuhausen" someday!

  • Hickok45, you seem very skillful using a fire arm... were you in Law Enforcement or part of the Military?

  • I've got a P220 SAS Gen2 two tone compact on layaway I'm psyched! Excellent review- Thank's

  • Sig does make this gun in single action only if you don't like the single/double action.

  • Can anyone tell me, how do you hold on a glock? And which sight would you prefer best?

  • @Tellison37 from my point of view glocks are a horrible guns this is why the way the grip is shape funny and it has a big ass slide on it

  • @Tellison37 I like Glocks, but the factory sights are less than ideal. Check out Warren Tactical sights (especially Sevigny competition), or Ameriglo plain black.

  • 陸上自衛隊でも使われています。

  • sigs i shot shoots low, need to hold the gun 12 o'clock or aim higher..just like Mr hickock i prefer to hold the gun at 6 o'clock

  • good shooting

  • hickok have you shot a Sig with the SRT "short reset trigger" it reduces trigger pull by 60% apparently. supposed to smooth the DA >> SA

  • you waste far to much soda :P

  • for anyone who is interested. Sig makes the 220 with a DAK trigger and SAO if you don't like DA/SA guns.

  • Comment removed

  • once again, you've reassured my decision to purchase a p220 45.

i look forward to shooting my new p220 45.

    i guess i can't say i'm a glock man..

  • OMG... THAT BOX...

    I WANT

    THAT BOX

    T_T

  • what kind of ear plugs are those ?

  • so this doesn't seem to have a slide safety like a M9 does it?

  • How could you not like hickok45? He has good bedtime stories.

  • Hi Hickok,

someone has proposed me a Sig Sauer P245, I had heard that is the minor brother of the 220, but i can't find anymore on this particular model, because where I live (Italy) there aren't many of them (someone says that is a gun for the Usa market?).

The price is about 450 €uro, what do you think about this gun?

    Thanks a lot!

  • been wanting a single stack 45 that is not a 1911, think I just found a winner and a big brother for my p229

  • That is a P220 carry btw.. About an inch shorter barrel.. Got an black Elite with wood grips and its the best looking gun I own.

  • Hickok, you forgot to mention that the Sig P220 Elite has a SRT (Short Reset Trigger). This trigger is unique it that it shortens the throw by 60%. Some love them (as I do) and some like the stock trigger. Usually if one has a regular trigger on a Sig and they buy a Sig with an SRT, they won't like the SRT because switching back and forth gives an inconsistent feel to the stock Sig trigger. Beyond the shortened throw the SRT has a very nice single action pull as you mentioned.

  • @legalsolutions07 Dude, calm down....

  • @joseguardado12 I raise the point because in the vid Hickok makes a point of how nice the DA/SA is on the P220. If one goes out and buys a stock P220 they won't feel the same as what Hickok is shooting. And I am calm:)

  • I always find it funny. Every time I am looking at getting a new firearm I go to your channel to see if you have a video on it, and most of the time it happens to be a video you recently posted....Its like you read my mind in advance or something...Simply Amazing. On a different note I remember you saying you were a teacher, are you a school teacher or a college professor? Just wondering. I would have loved to had a teacher like you. Have a good one. -Justin

  • Swiss engineering at its best. :)

  • I have the P220 ST with night sites it came with the Hogue grips

  • did anybody notice at 0:35 the empty bullet jumping out of the gun and hitting hickock right on the head? i found it hilarious for some reason and starting laughing like a idiot infront of the screen. ok i'm done awesome videos man i wish u were my grandpa :)

  • @BabylonShallFall thats why you should always were a cap when shooting

  • Thank you Sir for featuring the fab sig P220. The DA/SA is something you just have to use to get it down pat. Mine just runs and runs and very accurate but not a six O'Clock hold like you prefer. The single action trigger is supper. DG

  • He got a 3 in 1!

  • I love the bottles flying off the top!! :)

  • Hickok I have a question for you. I've never considered shooting a pistol at farther than 50yrds until watching your show. I've always just assumed that you would have to hold high at that distance, but you always say your using a 6 o' clock hold on the gong. Does that mean that the bullets shoot relatively flat at these yardages still and people miss long cause of being unsteady? I would love to see you do a video on long distance pistol shooting. If not can you explain the best you can?

  • can you do a video on the 6 o'clock hold?

  • WOW!

  • You sir should go on topshot, you would destroy those guys

  • If you don't like the conventional double action trigger of the P220 (DA/SA), they also have a single action version of it as well.

  • do you have a video of the SIG P228? i'd really love to see it

  • Thanks now I really miss my P220 now...

  • Very nice videos and well done sir! I really liked yournew Kimber Desert Warrior video also. I would like to see one on the Sig 556 if you get the chance. I picked up a SWAT Classic in FDE and am really enjoying it so far! Happiness is a warm Sig

:-) Keep up the good work and keep those groups tight.

  • hey hickok when you shot the 2 liter at 0:45 the bullet bounced and nailed the gong!

  • where do you get the metal targets and how thick of steel are they?

  • Hickhock please make a video on the H&K G3

  • Always enjoy the videos Hickok. Member posted this one in Sig Forum and I had to go watch again. You have way to much fun sir..David Lee

  • How many guns do you have? It seems hundreds..

  • I've always know sigs are great, but I didn't really consider one for myself, until I went to Bass Pro Shop today and held one, and I gotta say it just feels amazing in my hand. I am definately considering one now, that is when I have enough money to get one.

  • how much does it cost you for each video? because not only would the rounds get expensive but the soda bottles as well

  • I've been torn between one of these and an H&K USP 45... Maybe you could get a loaner USP 45 and do a comparative video, or a USP shoot/review? I enjoyed the 229 vs p30 video.

  • 0:48 = magic bullet :o

  • Man, I have to say I think that, Hickock has the best channel on you tube. He has the wonderfully cheesy acting. His logic, and common sense are sound! He put's out classy shooting video, and know's what he is doing, and a lot of you tuber's are down right crude, and show's just how little regard they have for human life. Good, nay great work sir! I wish more people had the frame of mind as you and I!

  • Hey guys, I've always wondered what makes the slide stay opened after the last round is fired ?

  • 00:36 Capsule hits cap HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Re: the 229. On the 229 there is a bulge in the grip, just under where the slide release and de-cocker are. The 220 and 226 are more flat in that area. I think the bulge is to help spread the recoil of the snappy .40 cartridge across a wider surface area of your hand, thereby increasing comfort. The 229 was designed to shoot .40s I believe. Mine shoots pretty comfortably in 9mm, and I've not had a problem getting a fairly high grip on it. In conclusion, guns are great.

  • Ok next Sig Request, Something from Master Shop, 9mm.

  • Fun video:) Thanks for covering the P220 Elite. I have several Sig Sauer pistols and I love them about as much as you love Glock's. Although I've never owned a Sig in 45ACP, because I like the traditional 1911's, right now I'm looking to buy another pistol in 45ACP. I've been thinking about a P220 with the beavertail, SRT and night sites. Your video has been very helpful in making up my mind. Sig makes a great pistol.

  • One of the most coincidental shots ever, or knowing hickok maybe even intentional @ 00:45 You shot the red bottle and the round went clean through and hit the steel target behind it!!!

  • I dont understand why peeps say the older ones are better than the new ones..ive put 4700 thru my Sig P220 Carry...not a single problem

  • Could you do a video on the Springfield mil spec?

  • Nice camera work! On the first gong shots you can actually see that big slow heavy slug in the air before it strikes and some after they flatten out and fall. .45ACP not flat shooting but gets it done. And I have an older P226 made in West Germany and will never part with it. I can hear the sadness in you voice Hickok45 when you said you sold yours :-(

  • Mr. Hickok, if you had your choice, and I know its a tough one, H&K P30 or sig 226? I have both a HK P2000 and Sig P239 and love both, so I guess I'll let you decide. LOL

  • Your videos are the only reason I want to live in america. Love your work man.

  • I have the sig sauer P230 which is another great gun you should deffinately get your hands on one and make a video of it

  • You need to get a hold of a p228

  • Would love to see you do a video on a SIG P226 in 9mm Mr. Hickok!

  • Another enjoyable vid. That's a P220 Carry Elite (I carry the P220 Carry SAS), which has a 1/2" shorter barrel (and sight radius) than a standard P220. I own a few Glocks, but always wind up back with my Sigs as defense guns, unless I want to carry something a bit smaller like my G23 or G26. One can expect to shoot best with the gun they're most practiced with. Nice work, Hickok-much appreciated.

  • Long time watch, first time poster.

    YOU ROCK Hickok45!

I wish I had a private home range.

You are a great firearms educator.

I think you go a long way in getting people to become more familiar and hopefully more comfortable with firearms in general. Might I even suggest you might have converted some of the non-shooters into new shooters.

Thanks for all the hard work.

  • your videos are ten times better than all the other gun reviewers and such ,your an awesome person and this gun is truely awesome it will be one of my first handguns when im old enough Thank You hickok45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wish you were my grandpa!

  • I picked up a Sig p220 in 2003. It is great. I paid $679 NIB and added night sites and houge grips. Thanks for the review!

  • This guy. Just. I don't even know how to compliment you, Hickok.

  • your the man hickok45

  • My 220 carry elite dark has the (relatively) new adjustable combat sights. Do you have much experience with this sig sight? I am not sure what to think of these big sights.

  • UglY terrorist...!!

  • i like how he says oooh another mag as if he dosnt knows lol i love these videos

  • what ya have there is actually the P220 Carry Elite Mr. Hickok. but its cool we'll let that slide on account of hickok awesomeness

  • remember to decock it before you take the slide off. it will mess up the SRT.

    great video cheers

  • 0:45 collateral!

  • Cool slow-mo, bro.

  • im surprised that your so calm shooting flat steel with jacketed ammunition

  • @stalker958, Yep, BECAUSE it's flat. :-)

  • @hickok45 Mr.hickok45 what polymer magazines would you recommend for the P220 than the actual heavy metal magazines from sig sauer.

  • Shot that a few weeks ago, love everything about it.

  • Hickok, I really ned to know where you got that shirt. Please let us know. Nice shooting.

  • @manueldsalinas2147, Okay, I couldn't remember the site; it's the Zombie Tactical Store. I'll put the link in the description.

  • @hickok45 , Thanks Hickok.

  • do you think its too big for concealed carry? i want a .45 that will carry easily...

  • hahaha I think they gone burgers

  • Nice video. Great that you can see the .45 in flight and arc out right before it hits the gong. Slow Bullet but its alot of lead.

  • AIM POINT QUESTION: You speak about holding at 6 oClock on a taget. I dont understand, why dont youjust hold CENTER MASS on the target? Please fill me in on this please and its benefits.Im old school Army, aim CENTER MASS! Thanks Gregg.......Herb :)

  • @HerbWalker Some guns sights are set up to a 6 o'clock hold. You hold the part you want to hit (center mass) right on the tip top of the front sight post (putting the target "on a stick") and the bullets will hit center mass.

  • @HerbWalker

hello, just because at that range most weapons shoot differently from each other, some shoot a little high so you must use a 6o'clock hold and some shoot a little low (such as the sig in this video) so you must us a 12o'clock hold. hope this helps man.

  • The Coronado by La Flor is one of my favorite smokes! Why not have a stogie and do some shooting? That would be very macho! haha! Great video, Hickok!

  • Nice shirt you got there...

  • Hahahahaha~~~ nice

  • i would like to see john shoot some

  • everytime fun to watch hw the bullets flying through the air. you can actually see it when he zooms in the gong.

  • Hickok where did you get the zombie shirt

  • Great video Mr H. And the Sig suits you. Sworn fan myself. I'd like to see you get your hands on an X5, which would settle the DA issue on the 229. Should be perfect for the gong too! Keep up the good work. You are much admired down under.

  • are you left eye dominant?

  • @jonnyv1nj he is LED

  • That's a sweet piece, thank you for sharing it with us!

    Regards,

    Kel

  • fuk yea just bought one

  • God I wish I had a range like that. That looks like so much fun.
