Snake Befriends Hamster

don't get it somehow... why should someone want to feed a snake with a hamster? usually snakes are feed with mice/rats/bunnys because they reproduce faster, its not too expensive and/or they give birth to more babies than hamsters, i think.. i've never seen or heard from someone who wants to feed snakes with hamsters.

i once had a snake that befriended a mouse... the mice sat on the snake's head and as the snake raised its head to the top of the cage the mouse tried to escape... then later the mouse died from being sick

Yep, they had this cute little couple on Ripley's Believe it or Not. Ao-Chan had been raised on nothing but dead frozen mice, and then they thought to bring in little Gohan for his lunch. Ao had nothing but dead meat, so he didn't quite know what to do with the new 'meal', and well, the rest is history. :)

I had a friend with a snake that had the same thing happen to a mouse. After about a week or so though, while we were visiting, the snake finally got hungry enough and attacked the mouse, who I'm sure didn't see it coming. I'm guessing the same thing probably eventually happened to this one.

There are multiple underlying causes for why that hamster is still alive. Theres is a stress level involved with that massive see through front and top. Also not much for a hide in there. Thats a poor choice in a form of substrate also. Plus of course (although this sometimes doesnt affect a snake) the hamster is as others have pointed out, quite fat for that snakes girth. Get better housing, and better food, and you might end up having a healthy snake.

First of all , snakes do not belong in aquariums! They need to be free in their own habituate. If you don't enjoy spending your entire life in a glass cage the snake does not like it either.
