  • He forgot to mention that the light engine will go out in two to four years. Let's see $2700 divided by 3 = SUCKS

  • THESE TVS ARE TERRIBLE MINE IS COVERED IN WHITE SPECKS ITS ONLY 3 YRS OLD

  • I have this tv and it has white dots all over it. I replaced the bulb last year. This tv is not worth the maintenance that you have to pay for, to continue to watch this tv. I replace the bulb not the white dots; I just don't know what to do with the tv. I may have to trash it.

  • i got this tv for 50 bucks on craigslist! lol

  • Why do people still use VGA? It was built for 640x480...

  • that isnt a 65 inch O_o

  • I have the same tv GARBAGE !!! I bought it in 2008 changed 2 Bulbs and NOW the Optical Drive is going OUT !!! NOW I Have DOTS ALL Freaking Over MY TV . I Paid $2000 for this piece of SHIT !!! BEWARE IM TELLING YOU ... DON'T BUY THIS SHIT

  • Does that cool stand come with it?

  • What a small tv

  • he should work in WWE (reminds me of Ultimate Warrior the way he talks)

  • I too feel ripped off by this craptastic tv. I've gone through several bulbs already and I have hundreds (thousands?) of white dots from my DMD chip going bad or something. Samsung DLPs had this same problem but they actually fix it for free. If I want to fix mine it'll cost me $350 at least.

  • Thumbs up if you came here from photonic inductions video Rear Projection TV?

  • 1:19 EXTREME BLACK TECHNOLOGY!

  • I dnt like toshiba or mitsubishi to me personaly they are cheap quality. Make me a Sony 73" inch and that I will buy!!!! ;)

  • 65 inch??? What da hell... No more than 50? Is he an munchkin?? Lol

  • It's only going to last about 3 years, and for 2,000+ dollars!!! Don't waste your money, the white spots are going to show up at about the 3 year mark, and toshiba will just laugh you off of the phone, if you ask them to help with repairs.

  • my grandpas have a 1080 thats aint yet on a market yet rofl... and it didnt cost them anything only having good friends in techology center.

  • Panasonic make the best plasmas, Sharp make the best LCD/LED.

  • don't buy this tv,it's a rip off, toshiba won't back you up,mine lasted 2 years and a half.two lamps replaced already and now the DMD CHIP is giving hundreds of white dots on my screen, toshiba literally told that i'm screwed.

don't buy from these people, bad customer service

  • hes throwin quite a lot of numbers at me hahah dont need to know all that

  • They only last 3 years without having to replace the light engine $600 plus bulb $200 don't waste your money!

  • omg! omg! omg! FRANK MIR!

  • this vid is almost 4 years old now

  • that is HUGE

  • Nice TV but a bit old now.

One thing it will do better than LCD and Plsma though is Sound.

  • hoodwinked ftw

  • 1944x1080? This guy is a joke. He obviously doesnt know anything about televisions

  • @TheBirdman99 Well he dose because 1944x1080 is the highest def possible on consumer tv's. Rear projection is dead now anyhow and bulbs a unreliable and expensive. This was made in 2007.

  • @Armookie I was making fun of the fact that he said 1944x1080. 1080p = 1920x1080. Unless 1944x1080 is some magical resolution i have never heard of. it just doesnt make sense.

  • @TheBirdman99 No 1944x1080p is highest def possible not 1920x1080. Although 1920x1080 is probably highest in US tv consumer market. But UK and many others do use 1944x1080p. 3880x2160 has been experimented with but no formats support that res yet. But it will be coming as 3d takes off.

  • @Armookie Highest def possible? Now you are the one who is crazy. Yes, you talk about 3880x2160, yet you make it sound like 1080p is the best resolution out there. I am full aware that 1080p is not the best. Hell, i personally have a computer monitor LCD that outputs 2560x1600, far beyond what 1080p tvs can handle. You may be right about the 1944x1080 for the UK, but i havent seen any proof of it. Plus, if you view the newegg page and many others for this tv, it lists it as 1920x1080p.

  • @TheBirdman99 Yes and if you read my comments you would have seen that I stated Highest def possible on domesic tv not monitors. If you want proof just google 1944x1080. BluRay 1944x1080 h264 AAC is standard in the UK at least for hidef.

  • @Armookie I disagree.

Just because the popular trend has been to move to flat styled LCD and plasma TV's doesn't mean shit.

DLP and CRT HDTV's still have the best pictures out there.

Not to mention, they don't emit as much radiation at you and your family.

    Can anybody say less cancer??

These new flat styled TV's just cannot compete with the picture quality of DLP and CRT's.

  • i wasnt paying attension of what he was saying, i just watched the movie :P

  • amo los televisores de proyecion por lo baratos ke se pusieron alrrededor de $2000 pesos mexicanos con lampara nueva modelos 2008 de "52" para arriva

  • Just changing my first bulb this week on a TV bought in 2007...not too happy having to shell out $200 but what can you do.

BTW I did get mine from Tiger Direct as well.

  • @TheCoolHandFluke ebay has them for about $110

  • I had this Tv for over 3 years It worked Fine, Sound was good, Games were awesome looking on it... Hd was Great... Bluerays Look amazing...

Only thing is the Lamp just went, but it is very easy to get to and replace, for around 250 $ or so... but that is with every Projection Tv..

As far as picture Problems I didnt have any, the Picture was great, And never had any dead Pixels .. maybe i was lucky... but The TV worked great for me...

  • hmm i dont like it. How heavy is it?

  • Mitsubishi is way better!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I know someone that has one and there are white dots, that look like the constellations, starting to appear. Could anyone tell me why?

  • @KABRIS1 Those are called dead pixels. It means that the pixels stopped working and now only show the color white. That's why Toshiba sucks.. their tvs get dead pixels pretty easily :X

  • @LeonardoSasuke Thank you so much for replying.

I called Toshiba and they said, "We have no idea what that is", now I see why they didn't fess up. Can the dead pixels be fixed, and if they are fixed, will they reappear?

    Thank you for your time.

  • @KABRIS1 First of all, sorry for the late comment. And second of all, I've read posts of people fixing dead pixels by applying a *small* amount of pressure on them using things that won't harm the TV such as erasers. I have never tried this myself as I've never had any dead pixels. And I don't know if they'll re-appear but if the applying pressure method works my guess is that you can use the same method over and over again. Ask your friend if he's still under warranty.

  • @KABRIS1 Do they smoke or have a fish tank near the TV? I have a 65" Mitsubishi DLP that is working fine after almost 2 years. Usually people that get the white dots have done something to cause them.

  • @Spoodily 2 years is right around when they start to mess up... you may have just jinxed yourself.

  • @KABRIS1 dmd chip is dying.... costs a new or refurbished light engine, at least $350.

  • @mraleks321 What drug are you doing?

  • fhucking love hoodwinked!

  • buy Toshiba 65HM167 65-Inch 1080p DLP Rear Projection TV and get for free troley, no nead any more of tv table, like you can see is very easy to move your brand new tv all arround the house.

  • rear projection is asking for trouble.

  • I've had this TV for almost two years, the picture quality is amazing and I haven't blown a bulb yet. The bulbs go bad if you turn the TV on and off constantly not allowing the bulb to cool. It's great for a large basement theater, but I wouldn't put it in my living room unless it was 600+ sq ft

  • I have this TV and it has been perfect for two years now. It has a killer picture.

  • Toshiba 65HM167 65-Inch 1080p DLP TV has excellent picture and sound, BUT 1) the light bulb needs replacement every 6 to 8 months ($170), and 2) after 2 years the screen now has 1,000+ white dots on it--which is apparently also a problem on Samsung TVs. So be sure to get 5-year extended warranty (and hope they will honor it), OR get a smaller LCD or Plasma TV, as the initial price of $1,609 (with tax) + $267 (stand) + $628 for 5-year warranty, with replacement bulbs can make this expensive.

  • It not want in my dads house but because my dad already has a rear projection tv but its 42"

  • This dude is always tryin to sell junk

  • It dose'nt look like junk to me

    lets just hope its eco-power

    (witch means not powerful)

    the light seems powerful

  • its great T.V but when i saw the back I was like wo wo wo wo. that is jus not for me.

  • buy a HD projector and a 140" screen. probs still cheaper...

  • yeh

so cheap in america but in england its like £1000

  • That's one big ass TV. I'd rather had a bit less picture quality than have that thing in my house.

  • or an HD projector

  • can i get this in UK?

  • my penis is bigger

  • @footballf4n lol!!!!

  • lol!!!!

  • @footballf4n you know imax thats mine

  • so stupid u can get a huge projector 1080p full hd for half the price that is selling for just totaly stupid that video

  • this is my tv, and i have to replace the bulb already, only last 2000-3000 hours, then BANG, price is 160$ , be prepared to spend this every couple years. but nice otherwise

  • i love the rear projection tv's they produce the most friendly images in my opinion.

  • "They improved the black colour by 70 procent."

    Sounds like complete bullshit xD

  • maybe becuase this was made in 2007 !

  • woah! thats thick... I was expecting not slim but at least hafl that width! :/

  • LOL it's a projection TV.. Not a flat panel... Ohh a/v noobs :-D

  • How much does it cost??

  • I love this tv. I have my pc hooked up to it. I bought it 2 years ago. I love it more than my plasma or my lcd tvs.

  • 1944x1080 hahaha

  • The frame around the picture is tiny, I thought my TVs frame was thin lol

  • i have a dlp tv 47 inch its a nice tv but those bulbs suck ive had my tv 4 about 3 or 4 years and we had to replace the bulb and that ting was exepensive so take my advice and dont buy those tvs unless you have the money to buy a bulb every 2 years

  • yea but those lamps burn out every few years ( the very bright bulb he talks about )and they cost 150-300 to replace and they have the issue of face shake (look it up ) but mine is from 2005 so maybe they are better now.

  • actually todays dlp sets the bulbs only cost about $99 and they last over 2 years up to 3 or so depends on your viewing habbits. and they are 3d tvs all the mitsubishi sets. i'm getting an 82 inch dlp

  • 82' inch! They actually sell those. Where at? I.m happy with this one

  • best buy and online

    wd 82837 and

    wd 82737

  • I have a toshiba 45inch rear projection tv and ive used it so much and i mean alot for video games tv and dvd for the past 6years and havent changed the bulb once and it's still going strong so :) Maybe it's just toshiba power?

  • did he say full high definition when showing the vga input??how is that possible?

  • He's lying. I have this tv hooked up to a pc. There is no high definition through the vga input. You are right thats not possible. But its still a great tv.

  • you can do hd on all dlps today, this is an older model though. you can use the hdmi hookup to pc

  • @demarioda1 Are you kidding me???

    Through the VGA INPUT????

Maybe becouse it is not called HDMI input but VGA !!!

  • dont they have dlp tv's in europe?

  • they seem to have all this amazing expensive technology in these videos... SO WHY DONT THEY HAVE A HD CAMERA TO RECORD THIS IN... this is just blurry and you cant see how good the TV is.

  • @topgames121

    Hey dumbass,

YouTube didn't allow HD videos until November 2008 [720p]... and 1080p november 2009... This was uploaded in january of 2007. That would be why theres no HD!

    Stupid cunt.

  • @topgames121

Its simple Cause you dont have a hd computer

  • wtf, did he say "the black colour" , hmm black isn't a fucking colour it's a shade.

  • its called that u moron

  • its the absense of a color

  • man i 60 inch tv looks a lot bigger bcz its rear projection it is taller than me and the screen you cn sleep in over night and there is no way that is 65 inch

  • i have this tv. It looks a lot bigger at your home. He has it sitting down low.

  • is that some sort of optical illusion there is no way that is 65"

  • He said 720i as a resolution. There is no 720i. The common feeds are 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

  • My friend wants to sell me this tv for $1400...is that good? It's still under warranty too

  • Comment removed

  • its worth it they cost over 3000 if you buy good quality brand new

  • I love this tv. I paid 2800 but that was 2 years ago. Now i would not pay more than 1200.

  • Same size as my TV... :D

  • dude at the end u were talkin so fukin fast lol

  • you are boring

  • 14bit??

what about 64 bit like vista

  • this was the dumbest question I've seem so far...

  • omg colour not fucking operating system bit

  • oh right lol my bad soz

  • I'm going to say it 1 mo gain. DLP has the MOST REALISTIC and NATURAL color system on any tv. LCD and Plasma look extremely good, but the colors are not as natural. You may lose contrast or brightness with DLP, but it will always look more natural with color imo.

  • what i see there is a interlaced video playing but i would go for lcd if you can't afford that then plasma. dlp would be on the third

  • To have 1080p or 1080i which is like really clear do u have to have a big one??? coz we're gettin a 40 INCH one (or 37 Inch) would that only be 720p?? is that still good for gaming?? plz reply

  • No u dont have to own a large 50 inch tv. A friend of mine owns a 24 inch 1080p gaming monitor. Just make sure that the dimensions of the monitor are 1920x 1080 to get the full hd. Some retailers will tell u that the tv is hd. But to get full hd, make sure that the dimensions are correct.

  • Always get 1080p. the size of the TV doesn't matter :P

  • agreed

  • i have the same inches but the tv is made by mitshubishi unbalivably lol but they make good cars.i can see the tv from my kitchen!!!!!!! thats how bright it is.

  • this is an old video, oled and lcd has topped this for a while

  • ture.

  • Yep. I got a 720p DLP 4 years ago. And it still serves me well. BUT, as soon as i'm able 1080p LCD or OLED will replace it.

  • duz rear projection make any difference

  • Comment removed

  • i might be getting a 65 dlp but not the flat ones from mitsubishi

  • uuhh no. it would look bad.

  • you get a lot of rainbows too

  • that can't be a 65 inch tv my 42 looks just as big ans weighs 70 lbs and hangs on the wall

  • what an annoying asshole, i was all like "shut the fuck up"

  • dlp sucks because it dosent have viewing angles like lcd

  • lcds have motion blur and low contrast ratio

  • Garrgg... that thing is BIG. How would anyone move that thing if they gotta move? Obviously it's for someone with a house and plans to live there forever. Besides... Toshiba isn't premium brand for TVs.

  • its only 40lbs dude, its not as heavy as it looks! it only has a dlp on it

  • Comment removed

  • if your fat

  • never as fat as yo mamma~ nah...

  • i have a mamma you got 2 daddas

  • oh good one! lol your funny dude~

  • lol

  • LOL 720i?????

  • lol!!

i just kept watching the cartoon.

  • holy shit that thing is huge.

  • i got a 65 but mines a sharp and mines a lcd

  • 720i?? is he okay?

  • Now imagine Aliens... in 1080p. Awesomeness overload, anyone?

  • lCD IS GREAT FOR 49" AND LESS, Anything more DLP is the way to go unless you are filthy rich then get a plasma cause U will be able to afford to buy another plasma in 4 years when it goes bad and pay for the 700watts of power it uses. DLP has way better color to me. Yellow and flesh tones look real. LCD still has that haze to it. And only by mitsubishi. They are the reliable ones, SAMSUNG AND TOSHIBA SUCK! SAMSUNG REALLY SUCKS>

  • i have got a samsung 67" 1080p Slim-Depth LED Engine DLP HDTV, i dont like toshiba

  • I have this exact TV and it weighs maybe 50 pounds and roughly 2 feet deep. Great television, good value. I would sacrifice being able to hang a 150 pound 52 inch LCD on the wall for having to put a 65 inch television, which has EXTREMELY vibrant picture, on a tv stand.

  • the screen is flat its just not skinny.

Get a sony KDS-60A3000 way better check out my vid of it it.

  • WOW it's like my crt tv just bigger... how ugly T_T

  • damn thats gotta weigh a ton

  • Its actually not heavy at all, Just takes two people to pick it up because its so wide. I love this tv

  • I have one of these and they do blow LCDs out of the water in contrast also a good investment there is only three parts that can actually fail in them all easy to replace.

Though I wish they put the VGA connector on the side as well.

Though one also can hook a PC to the HDMI using a DVI to HDMI cable but get a short HDMI male to female cable so you don't risk breaking the HDMI port in the TV if you plan on connecting and disconnecting stuff often.

  • full hd 1080 fukn p

  • Its a "Toe Sheeba" TV apparently

  • Not sure what your talking about thus is a TV for the American market theyre TV scan resolutions are lower than the UK so they start down at 480 where ours start at 576 so the first step to HD 720p isnt much of a jump to UK'ers but it is to the Americans, thats the difference hence all the fuss about 1080p.

  • I have this tv its awsome, and the price is not to bad

  • gREAT REVIEW. i think i just found my new TV

  • 720i huh

  • that tv have nice definition but kinda too fat

  • dude its deffinately 1920x1080 you are r-e-t-a-r-d-e-d

  • lol @ 720i ... no such thing

and 1944x1080 WTF?? this guy has no idea wat hes tlkin about

  • hey if anyone know why my projection tv just turns off by itself please message me i want to fix this problem

  • maybe a dead light bulb

  • lol the little squirrel "dinamita"

  • lol@1944x1080

    its 1920x1080 buddy

    where'd you get 44?

  • Yeah, the people responsible for these videos don't always do their best to get the facts correct.

  • which just shows how uneducated the general public is. shame, imo.

  • wanna play my 360 on this wow !

  • it doesn't have any SCART inputs.

  • I was searching all over electronic stores, to see what TVs look better for games (I have a PS3) and movies. I looked at LCDs and Plasmas and I have to say...the DLP is no fucking joke. Its freakin awesome! I recommend these TVs to everyone who games and just wants an overall bad ass TV at a pretty decent price. I guess people just hate its bulkyness but hey, its about the picture, not looks.

  • People don't realize that you can hang a DLP also. DLP is overall the best tv around for quality. I just bought a 61" Samsung 1080p DLP the other day and it is amazing even at standard definition channels.

  • it's actually not that good. horrible viewing angles. one of the worst is you see this crystallized thing in the screen sometimes. it's very distracting. LCD and Plasma has a much sharper picture regardless of the resolution.

  • how mush is this thing worth in aussie dolars?

  • Just becuz of all this talk about 720p and 1080i and 1080p i gotta go p
