Well, actual details is that it only looked like a lincoln. It was actually a full custom fibreglass body. The failure happened tue to takeoff runway. The road wasn't made right, and as such car began to bounce as it reached high speeds. It result, was the stabilizer wings actually broke away first, you can see that. He hit the bumps so hard that he actually was unable to keep pressure on the throttle so didn't even acheive enough speed regardless..

He was pissed, but I don't have to tell you that. Also, this happened in 1981. Ken Powers died in 2009 in a hospital from being sick. Ken Carter died in '83 from trying to jump a firebird over a lake in Peterborough Ontario (after failing the first time at it)
