Ok for all this miata experts this is my first time building a miata im hoping for at least 250 hp to the wheels, here is the list of what ive done to it; wiseco forged pistons 8.9.1 compression, eagle rods, commetic head gasket, port and polish head, racing main bearings, new stage 2 clutch, 20g turbo, 2.5 downpipe all the way to exhaust, arp head studs and arp rod bolts, new valve seals, overbore block, planning on boosting 12 psi as a daily driver.. Answers please
You forgot a standalone and a good tune, it will make a world of difference in performance and relaibility. A good clutch will be on the list too. Also remember a wideband to check your AFR at all time. With all that you will hit 300whp easily.
@Jashrose Also another suggestion if you plan on spending all that money you might as well get a LSX swap they will get you 300whp stock not to mention no lag and the torque. Check flyin miata out they have kits where it can be a straight bolt on affair.

@MyOpinionMatterss Its not that bad turbo is fully spooled before 3500rpm cant remember, shes been away all winter lol. Lag isnt bad its a 2871 and fully built motor and 3`` exhaust if you do your setup right you wont have any problems if you do a chincy setup then the lag will be terrible. And it has hks 156 cams thing idles like a muscle car sounds lovely though. And if i brought you for a ride youd shit your pants, going to put in a new intake manifold this year hoping for 315rwhp :)
@bubbolootz I'm sure the built and bored motor helps with the spool. I've read anything bigger than a 2560 lags bad. I drove one with a 2554, granted it had much less power but the lag was non-existent.
After being in 11 second cars, I seriously doubt a 300 whp would make me shit myself lol. But i'd like to go for a ride anyway!

@ecosby100 havent been to the track lately. Will be in a month or so, got my new intake manifold have to install it. Motor is built except the crank everything else has been changed. Was at 278hp at the wheels and i blew my intake manifold gasket. So i will be returning to the dyno soon, hopefully pushing around 315 to the wheels. And its only a 2871 turbo if i knew i was going to max it out that quickly i would have went with the 3071.

@datazncarl maybe 220 at the most, all about the tune. Guys are running 12-14lbs of boost on stock blocks 12 is safe 14 is pushing it and once you hit that limit there goes your motor then you have to swap one in and out and its to much bs so i just built it. The only thing i have blown so far was 3rd gear in my transmission this summer passing a car on the highway lol and that was a factory tranny with 178,000km on it so not bad for a year of boosting.

@JD0x0 yea i know i had some 15x8s but they rubbed so i sold them but im looking into getting some 15x8's from 949 racing next season and getting some flares.
@JD0x0 Agreed on the 17's; maybe if they're RPF1's or something really light. I would probably go for 16x7 RPF1's because of the wider range of performance tyres for 16's, and they're lighter than a lot of 15" wheels.
@blockheadface the RPF1's are great wheels I was thinking of going with 14'' on the front to keep the weight as low as possible(8.6lbs) and 15'' on the back (9.8lbs) for the wider tire selection. My current stock rims are already pretty light @ 10.8lbs so i'd want to go as low as possible.

Just got it dynod last week with my watermeth kit at 22lbs of boost, really close to 300hp at the wheels not the flywheel. This video i think she was at 12lbs, its retarded now ahah so much fun to drive, but also 200km to the tank :S
@metalicsupra ahh 1/4 last year i was running 14.3 at only 10lbs i was having over boosting problems when i got to the track my ebc was gettin all screwy so i ran it off the turbo wastegate, that was with .600 launch time...which is terrible(first time at the track). Its a GT2871R, and its a Begi stage 4 kit. Im gona be running 30lbs this year with water meth.

@bubbolootz IMO 17 inchers on an NA is a crime. I wouldnt go over 15'' personally. The weight kills handling. Nothing wrong with a turbo miata that isnt rice. Thats money well spent.

@JD0x0 Agreed on the 17's; maybe if they're RPF1's or something really light. I would probably go for 16x7 RPF1's because of the wider range of performance tyres for 16's, and they're lighter than a lot of 15" wheels.

@blockheadface the RPF1's are great wheels I was thinking of going with 14'' on the front to keep the weight as low as possible(8.6lbs) and 15'' on the back (9.8lbs) for the wider tire selection. My current stock rims are already pretty light @ 10.8lbs so i'd want to go as low as possible.

Just got it dynod last week with my watermeth kit at 22lbs of boost, really close to 300hp at the wheels not the flywheel. This video i think she was at 12lbs, its retarded now ahah so much fun to drive, but also 200km to the tank :S

@metalicsupra ahh 1/4 last year i was running 14.3 at only 10lbs i was having over boosting problems when i got to the track my ebc was gettin all screwy so i ran it off the turbo wastegate, that was with .600 launch time...which is terrible(first time at the track). Its a GT2871R, and its a Begi stage 4 kit. Im gona be running 30lbs this year with water meth.

@stevedos A girl's car, huh? I don't know what you drive, but you need to be schooled. This little red road rocket would likely spank most of the wheels out there. With a curb weight of 2300 lbs and who knows how much horsepower at the wheels, that amounts to great performance. Additionally, the car handles like a go cart. If this is a girl's car, sign me up for ballet lessons!

I also race hondas and mustangs and smoke them, but there are times for that like at cayuga at the track. And i also autocross when i have the time. But then there is time to let loose and have fun and be an idiot and burn some rubber and there is nothing wrong with that.

AHA i pay for my own tires, parts, ect. I work at a garage actually a dealership as a mechanic, and those tires cost 30$ each from my buddy with the TT supra in that video owns a performance store and i get parts at cost. And whats the point of building a car and not enjoying it?
