Atari 8-bit Playthrough - Montezuma's Revenge (Utopia)

I always wondered why i couldn't beat this game, and some passages trapped me.

This same prototype is included with montezuma's return.

Oddly enough,the SMS version of montezuma's revenge has added the bat timer and many of the missing features to later levels.

I really wish this version had gotten finished.

and the bat didn't show up until you were all the way down to the Indian...

Such a shame this version was never completed - I liked it a lot better

than the "Panama Joe" version.

You could find an emulator for the console such as the c64. I know the game exists for Apple IIe emulators.

There's a CGA version for IBM PC's you can download from any number of abandonware sites. You need Xbox to play that one.

Or try to find a C64 or Atari 8-bit emulator. Those are not too hard to find.

I remember playing this game for hours and hours. Thanks for posting this. I actually miss this game!! I don't think I ever finished the game. I'd get to the all black stages then I just don't remember the game ending.

I always wanted to know how it ended...never been able to get to the end I think...even with a map some of the rooms were really too hard to get past without dying a couple of times...all was so fast (on a pc quite slower than a cell phone of these days...)

Back in 1989, my aunt made me a copy of this game for Apple IIE. Let me tell you, I had this game down pat. I used to clear out entire castles, and in doing so, I arrived at Castle 9. Castle 9 has no light at all and I died. We had our Apple in my dad's workshop and I swear, him and his buds would waste so much time playing this. They would also call me while I was in the house to show them how to beat a certain scenario. I would almost buy an Apple for the games. It would feel like I was 12.

holy toleedo. i played the pc game, and the movement was not at all this smooth. u press on button left and you'd move quite a bit. and in some places u had to be on the right pixel to jump to the right place. need to get this one rather.

Excellent. Who needs a playstation2 or Wii. These games are what I used to play and spend hours on. So much better than all these good graphics but violent games you see today.
