  • Why my change adapter settings was blank? They say No connections are available so I click on Troubleshoot. Problems found is The Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless Network Adapter adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problem Detected. And another one that say is The Atheros AR8152/8158 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problem Detected. PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE.

  • @PandaLazyBoy If your motherboard has onboard networking, you may need to disable the onboard nerworking port in the BIOS or motherboard. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver which came with your Wireless card, or download the latest version from the company's website.

  • does this work with windows xp

  • @assassino1002 You can change the DNS settings in Windows Xp, but it is slightly different the way you look for the DNS network adapter. Try searching YouTube on "how to change network adapter card DNS settings in Windows XP" video.

  • @johnsonyip1 cheers

  • and yet i still cant get on thepiratebay...

  • thankkk youuuuu sooooo mcuhhh

  • Does one need to change the DNS server IP addresses in both the router and the adapter settings or is it better to change it in just one place or the other? And if so which?

    Thanks, Randy

  • @Wacher141 For a laptop, tablet, or mobile computer, it is best to use the adapter setings since you can use Google DNS on another network, but if your desktop computer is connected to your router, you can use your router DNS serings which is using Google DNS. Changing your routers DNS address to Google DNS can be useful if your ISP's DNS is unreliable, and you have visitors which would be using your network to go online. I just use Google DNS on both my router and adapter setings.

  • thanks. this actually worked! Is there anything else i need to know about using this adress? Are there any dangers or speed issues?

  • @waksibra It is run by Google, so it should be safe and very reliable. Learn more about Google DNS at: code(.)google(.)com/speed/public-dns

  • @johnsonyip1 well what if you more people then me use the same internet, dos it has effect on there computer?

  • @CustomLegoDesinger Changing the DNS to Google DNS may make their internet experience a little faster since Google DNS can look up Domain name faster then some internet providers. But, if you just set your computer, but not your router to use Google DNS. Google DNS will only be used on your computer. If you set your router to use Google DNS all PCs will use Google DNS. I use more then one computer with Google DNS and they all work great with Google DNS.

  • @johnsonyip1 So the DNS resolution will be much faster if set to Google DNS servers? What if I set the DNS settings using the IP address of my router? Which of these two options would you choose and why?

  • @silverfluke In some cases, using Google DNS is faster then your ISP's DNS server, but not always. If you are using a laptop which you take everywhere, I recommend setting up your laptop to use Google DNS since the DNS server on other internet connection might be unreliable compared to Google DNS. If your computers are always at home, it is best to set your router to Google DNS in the settings, so all users can use Google DNS when they are connected to your router's wired or wireless connection.

  • @johnsonyip1 Now if the DNS settings was to be configured on a Server (WIn2008R2) running a website, would you still put in Google DNS? It would have better performance still? I'm sorry if I am asking the same thing.

  • @silverfluke I'm not sure. I just would use the default DNS server for your web host. I think Google DNS was designed more for Desktop and Laptop computers.

  • how the hell do i find my router ip i have a ubee router its wireless and lan i need help reply plz

  • @blakefarris123 You need to login to your routor to see the IP address. You can also try IPconfig command l in the command prompt for Windows. The "Default gateway IP address" should be the same address as the router's IP address. It is for my Trendnet router address which is 192.168.1.1 . Thanks for commenting. I hope this helps.
