well shooting it in the head is obviously the fastest, but with a nice sharp spear like these guys have and a piercing shot into the heart or major artery is a quick death for the hog.

is that Jo your yellin at? is he/she the tracker? and is that why you always try to get her away from the hog while your hunt dogs are latched on?

also, i was just considering this, idk how you guys operated but it might be beneficial to have some hard plastic or leather sheath made for the spear so you can run throu the woods quickly and safely and then pull it off on site, just a suggestion, i dont really have any hog experience but just from observing

Yeah, Joe is a bay dog.  Once the catch dogs have ahold of the hog, there is no need for the bay dog to be in the fray.
