if that lion attack then Honey will defend his son even do she cant win. Honey was known for being good hunter, mother and defender. Such as what she done to a lioness who are going to attack her 3 little boys "Snap, Crackle and Pop". Rest In Peace Honey and Toto.

if you look at other videos you can tell that a male lion only roars like that to scare off other threats. a mother cheetah is not a threat in the northwest direction

@tintin8ify The reason that lions kill animals such as cheetahs and leopards is so that they can lower the compatition for terratory and food. If you watch one of the episodes where Honey's daughter dies by a lion, her last litter before she herself is killed, Jonathan Scott will tell you the same thing. Males lions do not kill for no reason.

The male protects the females and their offspring. His cubs. The reason you don't see the male with the females hunting very often is because they usually hunt at night so not much footage of that. And when they do hunt during day the male is patrolling the territory.
If you think male lions are selfish watch the episode where Solo's Mother gets mauled. Who comes and lays by her to protect her? The adult male lion in the pride.

@grrngirl I agree. Males are only selfish during the feeding time, and even sometimes, like with the big pride of lions, the male with share his meal with the cubs he has sired, or with a female, if she flirts with him enough.

I saw this episode, toto- the cub, dies :( very sad.
although, the cub did look like it was ran over by one of their jeeps, or maybe just all the flesh inside was taken out by the lions. I'll never know

I don't know about you but if someone came to my door and attacked or tried to harm / take my child away I would claw / beat the **** out of them. Being a human we are more so animals than they are, now get off your high horse. We kill for taste. Did you know a member of the cat family is a natural meat eater and they need it to survive, we do not, enjoy your steak. You can make small dogs vegetarians but not a cat. Also, if you eat Jello, I hope to enjoy those cow bones.

@tintin8ify you need to educate yourself first, and then talk. This is an area where many predators live. Lots of competition. Lions are the biggest predators in Africa and they will do whatever it takes to protect their turf from other predators. They don't kill for fun, they kill to ensure their own survival.

@lpycb42 Well to be fair some younger male lions are reported to kill animals for fun (to kill and leave without eating). But this is very rare from what I heard and unusual for them to do. Your right in most cases Lions only kill for 3 reasons. 1. Hunting, 2. Protecting their pride or 3. When male lions kill cubs of other male lion.
