Yes, swans have been known to do that, and if I saw that, I would use a branch or rock to get the swan to move and I would rescue the duck - it can be done. No, PEOPLE are the assholes. They are completely disconnected from nature, annoy the animals because they don't know anything about them or just plain harrass them. People on Jetskis go right up to the nest and terrorize the babies. What would YOU do if an intruder came into your home and bothered your kids? ALL animals will defend their mates and young. Respect them and leave them in peace.

Yes, swans have been known to do that, and if I saw that, I would use a branch or rock to get the swan to move and I would rescue the duck - it can be done. I would certainly not stand there like the morons filming it. Swans are not assholes - they do things we don't always understand. The ashsoles are the people that film the swan killing the duck and do nothing to help.

No, I didn't say that at all. That is how you misinterpreted what I said. Animals only know to protect their territory and families. They don't "mind fuck" anything. That is something people do. When we don't understand nature, we incorrect;ly project our own worst human qualities onto the animal, and strike back at it as if it is behaving like us. It is not. Wouldn't hurt people to research nature and learn to understand it , instead of being brutal to everything.

Aww I love Swans, I feed my local ones everyday, I can actually stroke the Cob and he comes and stands right next to me with his young cygnet (5 months old) and his lady wife 'the Pen', he takes small bits of bread so gently so he doesn't catch my fingers, they are a lovely family!

Be very careful around swans. This swan, with the flip of his wing, can break a human femur. They are nothing to take lightly. Lucky this one only warned her. They can do some horrible damage.

You've be angry too if idiot people drove their boats through your home and manhandled your children. People do all sorts of horrible things to swans. Swans are very agressive when protecting their nests and familes - as are ALL animals. But they do have a 7-foot wingspan, so they will harm you worse than a chipmunk. However, treat them carefully and respectfully and they can be very friendly. By the way, our DNA is all kill kill kill -- why should ANY animal trust us?

He probably appreciates the food, but he's concerned that you are so near the lake, since his wife and kids are probably hiding somewhere around it. Male swans get massively pumped up during the nesting season and are WAY more aggressive than is called for.
