  • The task is deciding who to listen to and how to go about finding the truth. How do we find out what the Afghan people want? Is there really a line to draw between the "warlords" and the plebs?

I applaud your courage and adventurous spirit. It takes more guts than I currently have to go see Afghanistan in its' current state. I wish you would emphasizing seeing and thinking for ones' self rather than using ethos and politics to reinforce people who already have their minds made up.

    Keep it up!

  • Liz,

You have an incredible view on the situation in Afghanistan and an awesome vantage point. I, too, am a world traveler and spent a long time in the Middle East. We were in different regions but our experience have some similarities. There are many people across the world who wish the U.S. military machine would leave and many others who wish that we would join battle with them.

  • Nice sentiments and I agree, we need to leave Afghanistan. The notion that we are there as payback for 911 is a farce.

We unfortunately won't be leaving Afghanistan. The corporations and banksters that control Obama will not allow it. They will have their oil pipline and retain control of the poppies for big pharma and the long tenure of CIA drug running. What the Afghan people want is the next handout and the next, no different than when russia was there. I say we napalm the poppies and leave.

  • Liz, Thank you for the truth and authenticity in your words. Let's hope that the president fulfills his obligations as a Nobel Peace Laureate to embrace and practice the guiding principle of Peace.

  • Thank you Liz! The Afghan people are rarely heard though standard media, and you have carried their message. May the President hear their words and wishes through your voice.

  • President Obama,

Liz does not just speak from only one perspective. She speaks for many, and especially for those whose voices are not heard from beneath the noise of military occupation. Please reconsider applying more troops and listen to Liz's suggestion of dialogue.
