32 f is freezing. Here in Coos Bay OR . Most years we it doesn't even get frost,But we had frost several times.. In the summer temps are in 80'sf to low 90's f . 50 miles in land the can be 100f + days.
Today in Coos Bay Oregon. The sky is clear Temp high will 60 f and a low 38 f In the town My son lives in Yreka, California . The County Courthouse 's Placer Gold Display was robbed of 1.5 million dollars in gold. The Collection is valued at 3 to 4 Million $. The funny Part is the display is next to the door of the Sheriffs Office.
Glad to see you made it out on another fine day. Congrats on your bit of silver and other coins. You never know with those coin balls. Ha ha. GL on your next and HH
At the end of the day you know as well has me that X doesn't Mark the spot, so you never know you could walk into a hoard of coins, but if you are ever down were I live your welcome to come along with us, and if you get the time have a look at my club site Grimsby vikings metal detecting club, I would love if you would put some pictures of your finds on
Nice silver GED, I would have though that more hammered would come up in the dales, I wonder what happened to all the people before the georgian times. You do really well
Back in the 70's I wrote to the Detecting Magazine, they pulished lots of my articles, that my area did not exist before Georgian times as the populace had been abducted by Flying Saucers ... they were not impressed and didn't publish it ... after all ... that info didn't sell detectors ... LOL ... COG (Cynical Old Git)
we should feel grateful for small mercies ... the temperature at my farm in Bulgaria was minus -28 degrees centigrade yesterday ... now that's cold ... brrrrrrrrrr ... and I already have my hat on ...LOL
Awesome Shilling! Congrats! I'd love to dig one of those...heart attack time! Looks like a buckshot hit on that copper coin. OW! Maybe that metal ball is a metal bed-frame ornamentation. Nice buckle too. GL & HH!! I smell gold soon for you!
Wow! Great finds! I was wondering - what do you do with all the old coins you find? Do you just add them to your collection, do you sell them, give them away, etc..? Thanks, have a great day!
at the moment I am sorting my metals for sale to the scrap man ... kilos of lead, bronze and old rubbish coins ... and I always carry a few old bronze coins to give to onlookers ... some think they are great ... but some aren't impressed and look at me like " do you really expect me to touch that grotty thing" ... whatever ... LOL
persistance pays mate ... I have considered my fields to be worked out on lots of occasions ... I was just working in the wrong part ... it's strange but coins are lost in specific parts of a field ... usually at the high end ... along south-sun-facing walls .. on dry soil ... high bits where the boss can sit and keep an eye on things .. near gate entrances .. stiles ... particulary horse fields .. picnic fields ... and especially other places that I can't figure out why ... LOL
good, good, good , copey tells me your gonna be hunting together soon ,i cant wait to see that hunt i love both you guys videos this should be a killer!
oh ya i threw a brand new HD video camera in you package before i sent it off so we can see "Ged dodd" in high resolution now lol.
great vid ged and a very nice silver and got a theory about your mutilated coin looks like its been shot with a shotgun wether it was in someones pocket at the time remains to be seen lol GL & HH
and here's me thinking that I have a vivid imagination ... LOL ... on close inspection it does look like shotgun pellets fired at close range ... ouch
