  • Fab video. I was wondering if I could ask your advice?. I have recently been bought a set of Runes which I would like to work with, but I know ZERO about runes. Do you have any good book recommendations?.

  • @HippieGirlClaire "Thorson's Principals of Runes" by Freya Aswin, is a good starter, if you want a really good start: "The Rune Primer" by: Swen Plowright (spelling?) and if you're looking for a far more in depth (slightly more expensive) book: "Taking up the Runes" by: Diana Paxon.

  • @Lurch579 Thanks a lot!. I waas totally lost there!. Peace and Love to you and yours.

  • I love your videos...I just have one question. I'm reading and learning the Runes from a book called THE BOOK OF RUNES by RALPH H. BLUM. He states that Thurisaz is the rune of Non-action, Gateway, and the God Thor. Not to pass through the Gateway without contemplation. To review the past etc...My question is, where did you learn to read and am I studying a book with bogus information? Thank you so much!!

  • @dzdaydreamer92 well... yes and no... thurisaz is a gateway, non action is actually more of isa than thurisaz but thurisaz is the god Thor's rune and he is definately not about "non action" so basically it's all about not acting without thinking but in my PERSONAL opinion Ralph Blum's biggest mistake is not emphasizing that it's all his "personal experience" and not historical or academic information. and when it comes to the blank rune I don't like it and I don't use it, but I'm not against it.

  • @Lurch579 Thank you so much. Got any books that you'd recommend?

  • @dzdaydreamer92 yep... check out my first 3 "how to read runes" videos... in one of the "thumbnails" I'm holding a book... they're all in that one.

  • I like to think of Thurisaz as a shield being held infront of someone. Looks like the side-view of a shield as well.

  • Thurisaz was associated with rose thorns, like Odin pricked Brunhilde with a magical sleep thorn when he put her into the ring of fire. And the Anglo Saxon Rune poem refers to it as Thorn. The name Thurisaz is of course, Proto-Germanic and refers to Thurses, which are a type of giant. And is generally thought of representing masculine energy.
