i live in the UK and dont really get storms as bad as you do in the states but when i worked at flamingo land (theme park in malton north yorkshire) a bolt of lightning struck 50mtrs away from my ride trapping several cars on a roller coaster it was quite scary to say the least

that was actually a step leader in front of the car it wasnt actually the bolt that hit the ground from what ive seen the actual strike was about a mile ahead of the car but still pretty impressive

Well the thing that made this shot so perfect was the fact we was not planning on recording the lightning. It was the last leg home from our southtube trip and that night shot was for nothing more other than out own personal video keeping(all my southtube vids are from a 3hour vid) and while Robbie had that cam,, WAM!!! IT was so awesome and the strike it self was so SO LOUD!
