  • movies nowadays have no plot.

  • lol nostril rape

  • I kind of agree.

  • I liked the movie and thought the soundtrack was awesome.

  • There is no reason why Flynn's role in the film should not have actually been Flynn's son! Son owns the company, son has 1000% better technology, and son has dad who found a way to get inside the game. Son should have been the one who was controlling the game. Flynn should have been retired dad called upon to go back into the game to defeat/rescue his son from his son's own madness. End result: Flynn stays hero, fans stay happy. Potential Tagline: "new not always better"

  • @rofyle I like it. :)

  • @mobilesuitZer0 yup totally said that the original Batman sucked.... Oh wait no I didn't. But Returns did suck ass.

  • they had 30 years to plan and condense all of the great ideas they had come up with. we live in a technological world now, they had every reason to create a classic and no excuse to fail. THIS IS WHY LEGACY SUCKS!!! it falls badly short of what it should of been.

  • idk bro it was cool and its not made to be a remake its a sequel cmon its the future of tron not the 1982 one

  • Nostril rape? OMG almost died laughing.

  • And also, you guys are freaking demented if you say the graphics in the 80s version was better than the newer one. I get you're rabid fans of the original version, but let's not kid ourselves.

  • @Sociopathics I don't think thats whats being debated. problem i have with legacy is it copied the story flow from the first film pretty much identical which was dumb because the first film's flow of scenes is far from perfect. legacy was supposed to represent todays cyber landscape but it was as if they were too scared to stray from a formula ( typical excecutive thinking ). it should have looked abit more like that last bit in speed racer. I will continue to pretend Legacy never happened.

  • Both TRONs sucked...

  • i hate it when people say that tron legacy's story line is 'just like every other movie you've seen' and that the original tron's was sooo much better.

err.....ok....legacy is essentially boy looses dad, goes into world, defeats bad guy and then finds dad - i'll give you that, but you can definitely say the same for the original: guys notice problem go to other world, defeat evil dictator thus solving problem and return home. simples.

    TRON LEGACY KICKED ASS

    END OF FREAKIN LINE

  • I thought that the remake was done quite amazing. I went to theaters for it and it was just absolutely amazing, but I'm also a die hard fan q:

  • you were probably really popular in high school

  • You Don't Even Deserve 4,000 views. To Be Honest

  • I Enjoyed Both The Sequel And The Prequel. You Were Wrong, And I Own Both Movies. Your Words Mislead People, Fans.

  • Tron legacy does indeed suck.

  • You suck, bitch... -.-

What the fuck do you know about films...

Disney just gave the TRON fans what they wanted for two decades..

  • Please do. It won't change that this movie isn't terrible though.

  • There are many for worse movies that made a lot more money than Tron Legacy,

Transformers? Jurassic Park 3? Or how about anything Tim Burton related?

Bottom line if you didn't like it, boo hoo. It's all the cookie cutter "me-too" action movies that people want to see clearly. It's called escapism people want to see something dumb and entertaining it isn't hollywoods fault that all us sheeple go see those dumb action comedies year in year out. They are what we go to see in theatres and so that'

  • @TheChrisRolla There is nothing that says escapism can't ALSO be intelligent; I can name plenty of examples of THAT if you like.

  • @TheChrisRolla Wait a second right here asshole...you're saying that Batman and Batman returns sucked? Fuck you!

  • @TheChrisRolla "There are many for worse movies"

    THIS..... IS..... OVERUSED COP OUT!

  • Tron 82 had heart and fun and color Tron Legacy had none of the above.

  • @SpreadingtheMuse True. :)

  • that movie sucked ass, the whole movie is fixing a made up world that doesnt mean crap

  • Tron Legacy, ah the disappointment. The problem with most sequels is that they should not have been made in the first place.

  • i agree....100% with you, and it`s not just Tron legacy, absolutely every friggin action movie that comes out these days all have the same shitty format

  • I have to agree. Tron Legacy sucks. The original 1982 had better art and visual graphics than 2010 Tron Legacy. That is sad. Tron 2010 legacy looked so realistic? I didn't know a digital world would look so realistic? WTF? I was expecting a much more unique art direction. The story? The story was non existent. I respect the fact of them embracing a free an open OS but other than that the movie was just flat. It's good for non-nerds and people with an IQ of 100 and below.

  • Ah well. Pretty much what I thought it would be. Another cyan-taupe movie with splosions and generic shite.

I hate this current trend for "let's pass the baton on to the kids" movies - Indiana Jones, Tron Legacy, and there have been rumours for ages about a new Mad Max mostly about the son of the Road Warrior.

In the same vein, there are only 3 Star Wars films. And even those have been painted over like the figures in the Sistine Chapel.

Exec: Art? Fuck art? In it's arse. Like a freight train.

  • why even original cool that movie is such a crap

  • you want a tron sequil???

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA forget it

tron legacy is awesome and the action scenes were just epic

so if you think everything sucked in this movie

MAKE A FUCKING SCRIPT OR STFU! nerds -_- i will never understand them

  • @123456789Anarchy im goin with u man tron legacy was the best movie ive ever seen

  • Yes, there was heart & soul in the original TRON, and state of the art graphics, but look at what TRON: LEGACY has done...

Made TRON fans to a greater demographic... still had Kevin Flynn AND Alan a.k.a TRON. This was written by one of the original writers Steven Lisberger for petes sake so nostalgia was apart of the game from the get go.

This wasnt what you or I wanted for a TRON sequel but it wasnt the brutally raped child you describe it...more like the downsyndrome cousin we all have.

  • @AvacadoDesperado Even if true, that's STILL significantly worse than it should have been.

  • I agree ONLY that they should have gone more into Sam Flynn's life before going into the TRON world... but Bionic, what else do you want? A 3 part series story inching slowly towards Sam meeting his dad? The movie was good regardless and i have to point out...you didnt mention Daft Punk's brilliance with collaborating in this project. The first movie had no soundtrack, so if your going to point out the faults then at least point out the perks as well. Good observations on your part though.

  • @AvacadoDesperado The original movie managed to do more and tell a better story in a half hour less than this new one. They have no excuse.

  • @AvacadoDesperado Well, it doesn't matter if he meets his dad now considering that at the end, his dad FUCKING KILLED HIMSELF! (well, him, Clu, and thousands of innocent lives.)

  • good review!

The original was kinda empty too,

You said "this could have been any movie" about 8 times :)

  • 1st bump in the road of no-confidence was Daft Punk over Wendy Carlos. She did the score for "Tron 2.0" & it was awesome too; music creates the mood. There was no TRON-feeling in this film; there was no TRON in this film.

I didn't get it could even be him 'til Flynn said it. Then he remembers he 'fights for the users'. How'd you forget?

How & that Flynn dies bugs me to no end. Bad decision. He writes Clu IN this new system how exactly? Through a mirror? Flynn should have complete control of him.

  • stop using a fukcing webcam for recording and buy a damn video camera....

btw the movie wasnt meant for tron fans, it was meant for people who dont know about tron

  • @MeMM00 Well, it should have been written as an ACTUAL sequel, for the fans.

  • @BionicDance why is that? why should they base everything around your thoughts? its a movie so accept it as a movie. how many good movies do you have? oh wait, you just have a crappy webcam and headset and apparently a greenscreen. that it?

  • @MeMM00 If they're going to change so much, just make a NEW movie, don't fuck over an existing franchise with a shitty sequel.

  • @BionicDance they could have even given it another name, but they didnt because people would rage if they saw a movie that resembles the world with tron as a name strapped to it, under another name. ofcourse this isnt anything near a sequel.

i would say prepare for Tron Evo or Tron 2.0

  • @MeMM00 Then they shouldn't have made any movie at all. If you can't do it WELL, don't nostril-rape everyone's memories of the original.

  • @BionicDance its the money, they all just want to make a silly movie and get people hyped up about it so they can make MONEY out of it, they dont care what people or even fans say. they just revamped old crap as i see it, in a graphics/music heavy package for everybody to be attracted

  • @MeMM00 They'll make MORE money if they make something actually GOOD. Just sayin'.

  • @BionicDance not really, if people pay to get into the theater, you are already screwed if you like it or not. even if the movie is/was good, you wouldn't pay more for it.

remember, their first stage(first time in theaters) is when they get the most out of the movies, not the later made merchandise

  • @MeMM00 Word of mouth will keep people from going to the theater. Look right here in this message area, this video; read how many people who said they won't go see it because of my bad review.

They lose money making a bad movie.

  • @BionicDance too bad they already made alot huh? read the facts

  • they screwed this movie up good.

  • If you notice in the first movie you did't really get to know the characters either and you are very repetitive and plus it wasn't in the same universe it was a universe that Flynn created! so I bet you were worrying about a stupid teenage zit when you saw the first one!

  • Well...I watched the first Tron, and it sucks also. The lines and the acting is soooooooooooooo pooooor. You must have a lot of Placebo effect during the film because it don't pull your feelings out. The effects were cool too (for a 80's movie), but man...it really sucked...at the end of the movie the girl kisses Flynn for NO FUCKING REASON...and then she kisses TRON after that...man..that made me laugh.

  • I hated the first Tron. I thought that it was below being stupid.

  • The only redeemable aspect of the film is the Soundtrack.

  • One more thing, any movie that tells u to keep your 3d glasses on throughout even though the first 20 mins were in 2d,is begging to get ripped by fans of the original.Cheeky disney c*nts!

  • @thkaal1 only once for English class :P

  • Lost a bit of respect for daft punk having cameo's in this piece of shit!

  • I just watched it today, but i hav'nt seen the original. I thought it was shite and cliched to fuck! I hated the way that guy with the cane was trying too hard to imitate Alex from clockwork orange! Also hated the way the rinzler kept pulling that overused 'crouching ninja' pose every time he landed from a jump!

  • they should of left this movie alone and just make a sequel of the 80s movie "Fight of the Navigator"

  • @disappears Aww, they'd just screw that one up too.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE "Flight of the Navigator". Hell, I love "Tron", I love "The Last Starfighter", I just love the 80s in general...but I do NOT trust Hollywood to respect my memories and get sequels, re-makes, or prequels right AT ALL.

...though if they COULD do it in a way that respects the original, I'd love to see it.

  • Perhaps someday they'll remake it....which,never helps movies so....

  • Yep this movie blew chunks! I never even felt the effects were that good. It felt like another dark future earth. The first movie had a feel like you were really in a system and it was believable. Crap script and crap acting.

  • Yep, the movie blew serious chunks. A pity, hopefully the third movie will get it right.

  • @perfectionbox At this point I hope they mercifully let it die.

    ...or let ME direct it.

  • @BionicDance cool, i've already got the first part of a story worked out.

  • I liked the movie. D: There should have been more character development but there weren't a lot of opportunities when things weren't exploding or backstory wasn't being explained.

  • @loserella55 The Empire Strikes Back managed it; Tron Legacy has no excuse.

  • agree with the poster. I am adding, SERIOUS scenario bloopers, when the sonny boy is being dressed the chicks remind me of lady gaga alejandro, there is a roasted pork on the table in the Tron world, crappy fake dialogues, the disco bar is being busted and the DJ's are in their own world, Bridges does Southern accents out of the nowhere as well as weird zen ex-hippie yuppie shrieks, nothing bad-ass... disaster... I actually laughed throughout the movie like it was a Leslie Nilsen comedy

  • Logan's Run would be a good old ass movie to remake..not this shit

  • @bennyfifty Yeah...Logan's Run sucked to begin with; they could hardly make it worse.

  • Why are people bitching about the story? The man has been zapped into The digital world, walking into the film i already know I won't get Citizen Kane storytelling. Has no-one here seen the awful story of Scott Pilgrim VS the World?

  • @madpat2007 But, see, I actually LIKE the story and the characters from the first movie. The people were individuals and interesting, the story could be told WITHOUT having to say things like "...and then there was a lengthy action sequence for no good reason other than to show off special effects and pseudo-martial arts moves..."

Compared to Legacy, the original Tron was frickin' SHAKESPEARE. Seriously.

  • @BionicDance Sorry for the late reply.

You also mentioned in the video that no character development takes place. Now bear in mind the story takes place in the course of 8 - 10 hours. Realistically speaking, what charatcer development can actually take place in 8 hours?

Also I don't remember the first film having much character development. Flynn started off a smart, cocky asshole and ended up a rich, smart, cocky asshole.

  • @madpat2007 Oh, please...I got to know more about Flynn in the first half hour of the original than I EVER did about his son in the two hours of the sequel. The characters in the first one were there for MORE than just to "hold the guns", so to speak; not so in the second.

  • @BionicDance Regardless of how much you found out about him, that doesn't consitute for character development.

  • @madpat2007 Sure it does; it makes him more fleshed out, less two-dimensional.

  • @BionicDance But I still fail to see why knowing soo much character backstory is necessary for the film. Yes granted we have to feel empathy for the character but it's not soo important that we know what he felt like during the 20 year, what college he went to, what he had for lunch that morning etc.

  • @madpat2007 That's not what I'm talking about. I mean character motivations, personality traits, who they really are.

The first movie had this; the second did not.

  • @BionicDance Oh is that what you meant? Sorry I misunderstood. But even so, is it still a valid argument? Like I said before, walking into this film, you'd be a fool to expect storytelling compared to that of Casablanca or Gone with the end. So why is this such a big deal?

  • @madpat2007 I expected something on par with the original. this wasn't even CLOSE.

And because I'm sick of having my childhood memories NOSTRIL-RAPED by Hollywood with WRETCHED sequels and re-imaginings.

  • I watched it, and coming out of it it was pretty cool, but unfortunately my critic gene has not yet developed enough for me to understand that a movie sucks while I am watching it, maybe it was the 3D I dunno, but mainly what this movie is good for is just a popcorn movie, just check your brain at the door and let your brain become mush, damn I feel so ashamed for liking it a bit, yes I did like the action and the music was good but there was some element that kept people from, damn this sucks!

  • @dfer159632 I didn't WANT a turn-my-brain-off popcorn movie, I wanted a GOOD movie. Like the first Tron flick.

  • @BionicDance I know that, I wanted that too, we all wanted that, there was so much lost potentail for this movie, Why must hollywood destroy all good things!

  • Nice review! Nostril rape thats funny as shit. I thought tron looked gay especially when i heard "daft punk " I definitely knew it was gay

  • I wanted one of the light cycles as a kid! Honestly, I don't like the new ones.

  • Tron has always been a showcase for the latest special fx. The plots for both movies were concocted 2 days before final editing.

  • @rxvp9000 yeah the first movies story was kinda meh

  • Movie blew its load in the first 40 minutes, the rest was a trudge to the light plane sequence.

  • Oh and btw the original Tron: SUCKS FAT DOG BALLS!!!! get a clue dumb bitch

  • @Parabomb311 no, you're not the only one who liked it :)

  • who the hell do u think u are fat bitch sayin tron sucks u probably cant even get up to see the fuckin movi bcause ur so fat

  • @tH03a5 you need medications kid...

  • LOL TRON SUCKS HARD STUPID NERDS LOL

  • i still dont understand the original tron. some dude into computer games and is beamed into a computer world.. i thought it was about just ppl plying computer games. like a VR world..

  • the 3-d didn't work on me at all. and the picture when i saw it was too dark. i dont know if that was the movie or the cinema had the thing turned down. fuck !!!

  • Tron sucks lol. Oh you can throw magical discs at people and take them out and you have imaginary motor cycles. Come on people get a life that movie is the worst movie ever.

  • @Parabomb311 dont worry, i also liked it. well, the movie had an interesting and originale story (it needed a more developed argument, for sure, but still enjoyable), the best 3d scenes evah and the best soundtrack evah (Daft Punk are gods). of course not everybody liked it. its a matter of choices and we respect dat.

  • I plan on watching the original at some point . . . it seems to be very difficult to come by (cheapest I've seen is $80 for the DVD). As someone who didn't see the original, I actually enjoyed the movie. I enjoyed the music and the environment of the computer world. I saw the kid as more of a character that the viewer sees through, asking the questions and doing the things that the viewer would do. Oh well, I guess you didn't like it. lol

  • @fudgeman362 you can watch the original TRON on youtube...

  • Both of them were bad. At least in my opinion.

  • Tron Legacy ROCKS! The original Tron didn't have as much character development as you speak. I mean for christ sake it's a Disney movie. What do you expect out of it? The effects were meant to make it an updated look to the original Tron because we actually have the technology to make it look like an extravagant movie. To get down to the point, alot of people involved in the original was in this one. It -is- the official sequel if you like it or not. Deal with it. If you don't like, so what.

  • i agree, I did like some daft punk tracks - but christ the movie was so damm bad...wow it really suck! this girl is really on the money ! it didnt have to be a tron movie....she is so right !

  • are u a girl or a boy?

  • @118SKILLER Yes, I am.

    Are you?

  • @BionicDance ur gross to look at

  • @BionicDance win

  • @118SKILLER mmmm im almost sure shes a girl. actually, if yuh enter to her profile it says: Rabid Lesbian Atheist of DOOM. if shes lesbian, she must be a girl.

  • I don't know... the David Bowe wannabee was kind of cool. Of course Evil Dude in the beginning looked like he was modeled exactly after him and even had some stress balls he was playing with.

Unfortunately this is exactly what I expected from Disney. Now I'm just waiting for them to shit on "The Black Hole". However the ending of that sucked anyway since it had some pseudo religious meaning. They could get Muse to do the soundtrack for that though.

  • This video hits it on the nose. Not to mention in 3D, the only 3D scenes were the lame still shots on the floating whatever. Flynn??? What Flynn there was the dude from Big Lebowski. Who cared about the son. The young kid was ugly with messy hair. The lame excuse for writing in this to backtrack. They didnt even include the original lady from Tron. Did I mention Tron was fucking generic? I mean you couldnt tell him from any other bad guy. Lmao. The movie was named TRON right? WTF????????

  • I bet she is only saying that because she knows all the tron lovers would type in on the search bar tron sucks so she has outsmarted all these viewers

  • @petpoper Wait...what? *raised eyebrow* I'm not sure what you think it is I'm trying to do.

Not that it matters; I was expressing an honest opinion.

  • @thkaal1 In a technical fashion yea, but that's not why I enjoyed it. And if you ask me, that is not why it has such a following.

  • Tron 2.0 the only sequel to the Tron movie I can think of.... well worth purchase

  • @thkaal1 Heh...I don't really have computer knowledge; I'm an artist who uses a computer.

  • @thkaal1 Really? I hated him. Pure stereotype.

  • man, f all this noise... i'm smoking exotic cannabis before i see the movie tonight!

  • I made the mistake of watching it (instead of your warning XD) an hour ago... I agree.. Tron Legacy as a wannabe TRon sequel or something just sucks... I always say to myself "don't watch a remake of a classic, you're gonna be pissed 90% of the times" but.. I always fall XD

  • Pros

Tron: Legacy is the next stage in the future of visual effects that began with Avatar, and is easily one of the best looking movies ever made. Solid performances by the principles. The music in the film is all from Daft Punk. Besides being just a good soundtrack, it adds to the world and the tone of the film and it feels like nothing else out there.

    Cons

A thin plot that has gaping holes. The CGI to make Bridges look younger is weird. The world around the characters feels empty.

  • Tron: Legacy is going to be savagely ripped by many who feel that the plot is just something to string together the visuals, just as many criticized the story of Avatar. It is a fair criticism, and for those that focus on plot, Tron: Legacy will feel hollow and lifeless. If you can overlook it, and if you can shake the preconceived notions that may have formed after 28 years of waiting for a sequel, then the movie is an entertaining and visual stunning, albeit not spectacular film.

  • To summarize it quickly, the visuals are stunning, but the plot is weak. While the plot is weak, like Avatar, this film’s primary focus is on the visual aspects, and in that Tron: Legacy succeeds beautifully. The CGI is amazing, and the look of the city in the Grid is nothing short of stunning. Darkness dominates this film, partly from the tone, and partly because that is the established look of life inside the digital world. It can be somewhat bleak, but it is also original and beautiful.

  • lol.. i like the wood shed ^_^

  • Oh well. I'll go see "The Fighter" it's far supirior than this film your talking about. I saw the first TRON film on YouTube, it was not bad, the cgi in the first film was groundbreaking for it's time, but the story of the first film is okay. David Warner did pretty well in the first film IMO.

  • TRON totally SUXXXXXXXXXXXXX one of the worst movie ive seen it.

  • Ya know, the more I think about this movie...the less sense it makes.

This movie, was like a collection of interesting scenes badly strung together.

It was more like a first draft than a movie. Hell, I could write a better script in an hour!

Damn, I really wanted this movie to be good. >_<

  • @rationallegomaniac Yeah, I watched a review a little while ago that confirmed everything I hated about this movie and added a few things I hadn't considered... *shakes head sadly*

I didn't have high hopes, but I DID hope it wouldn't completely fucking suck. Alas.

  • TRON totally SUXXXXXXXXXXXXX one of the worst movie ive seen it.

  • @rationallegomaniac This TRON LEGACY WORST movie I ever seen it. So F***EN waste of my money and ma time.

  • @RSF1030 fuck u this movie rocked i eally loved it great 3d

  • @wham13456 you misspelled "really" dude

  • Spent 26 bucks to see this with my girlfriend. We both agreed it was a completely huge waste of money. Personally, the only cool thing about the movie is Daft Punk and the light bikes.

  • @WarmBelowTheStorm This is all I'm saying. Sorry you had to see it and waste that cash.

  • @WarmBelowTheStorm The soundtrack has one of my friends dead-set oin seeing it. I won't go with her, but will burn the soundtrack onto my computer, lol!

  • This review is soo right! Tron Legacy is a waste of time and money!

  • @HuntressV I'm glad people are starting to come around on this one. :)

  • YEP Tron sucked. Could have been great.

  • I am almost afraid to ask, will BD attend the premire of True Grit next week and then tell us what she thinks of it?

  • @tunisia780 Probably not. Not really into Westerns.

  • I saw the original Tron in the threater and it was totally awesome. I had not seen it since, and when I saw there was going to be a sequel I was totally pumped. So I wanted to see the original again before the sequel came out. Checked Netflix - nope, not available. Checked Amazon, used copies of $200 !!!! Apparently they are only going to release the original packaged up with the sequel when it comes out. Thanks for saving me a trip to the theater. I will save my money for the DVD set.

  • @oscargordon Hit a few Blocjbuster video stores. I got lucky and found a copy to rent!

  • I never saw the first Tron although I grew up in the 80s. I went and saw this with an Atheist group and most of us liked it. We agree the story was lacking but the special effects, visuals and music were cool. Definitely not great but I I liked it. One member of our group was disapointed he was expecting more.

  • *whine* NOooo this is worse than getting the flu and missing seeing it yesterday. :( I'll be in my corner crying.

  • having not watched the original would you suggest it to be a movie worth watching?

  • @hungryfordreams Not. In. The. LEAST.

Not unless all you want are action scenes strung together by cliches.

  • I liked the new Tron legacy but I guarantee you I will forget about it in 3 days. I think the only reason I even liked it was because I didn't hype it up at all (I could comparatively relate it to the old Tron as I only saw bits of that)

  • @colinrocks636 The old Tron has stuck with me for a LIFETIME, much like, say, Star Wars, Explorers, The Last Starfighter, Indiana Jones, etc...

  • Agreed! The New Tron Legacy sucks!

If anything it screams to the resounding incompetence of the current crop of directors who are now at the helm in Hollywood. They can't come up with anything new or innovative so they resort to films of the past for guidance only to end up butchering what the directors of the past created on their own.

Hollywood now sucks bigtime and it's going to be a while (if ever) before before they get out of the rut they have placed themselves in!

  • I think you are seeing the original Tron thru the exuberance of youth. The original Tron could not have been more Cookie Cuter Disney if it had a mouse and a duck in it. Disney was so out of touch at the time that there were no digital effects, everything was done the old fashion way..painted. And don't get me going on plot and acting..but you know I enjoyed it. The way you describe Tron Legacy its sounds like the perfect sequel, only now the tech that eluded them, nearly made them obsolete.

  • @BigAtheist Honestly, I think it's the reverse; I think you're looking at the original Tron through jaded glasses.

I watched it again yesterday, and it's STILL awesome. So much more than this new movie.

  • I hate to say it, but I disagree with you @BionicDance. I really liked it. The philosophy behind it about religion and how evolution is inherently wrong was all so beautiful. I'm a programmer though. I might have understood something particularly different, or read into it too much.

  • Lol! I couldn't help but think when I saw the last Indiana Jones movie when you talked about how someone took our childhood memories of a great movie and did nasty things to it.

  • aww come on, don't hold back, tell us what you really think!

  • i think everyone is being a little to harsh on this movie, i will admit that when i first watched it i did feel very let down like they just took a dump on the whole movie, but when i watched it a second time it was great i felt like i could absorb more of the story.

  • Thank you for saying what I want to yell from the roof tops!

    Cheers Christine

  • @christinepeace S'kinna my job. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • I didn't watch this vid on the day it was uploaded because I didn't want anything being spoiled and allowed for different opinions. I saw the film in 3D today. It was pretty sometimes, but mostly hollow I thought. I dug the intervention in the bar scene, that had some oomph. The two actresses each had more on-screen presence than Sam Flynn. The representations of young Kevin Flynn and Clu weren't animated realistically enough. Overall I give it a thumb sideways (take that whatever way you like).

  • New Tron isn't like Old Tron.

In other news: Snow falls mostly in winter, scientists say.

  • Fuck. They didn't. Did they? Tron too? Is nothing sacred anymore?

  • I think the main character is supposed to be bland and personalityless so any youngsters can more easily slip into his shoes and start kickboxing generic evil dudes and blowing shit up in their brains. It's a frickin JibJab style paste your face here thing.

  • No, no! Can't read this before seeing it. But I always go into remakes (yes, it's a sequel, but it feels like a remake) without expectations, & I enjoy them much, much more. It's like comparing pizzas. Remakes are usually a completely new implementation. This goes for book and graphic novel converted to movies, too.

True, some do try to somehow be faithful to original mood, characters, and message, but if I expect that, I'm usually disappointed. Can't wait to compare. . .er. . .see it.

  • Nostalgia has always been a powerful cashcow. The demograph for spending money, as well as those who write scripts pretty much consists of people who were young in the 80's. Thus, we are now seeing an attempt to entice audiences with new versions of old classics. I find it very yawn-inducing. I feel sorry for people with original scripts that don't get opportunities because a studio wants to run your childhood memories through the meat grinder instead...

  • @CrazedCousinDougal I also agree with your comments about special effects. I am seeing a lot of movies where content and storyline is replaced by CGI which just seems to clog up the screen and pads out one vapid scene until the next.
