Playable Ben Harper song Amen Omen from his (2003) Diamonds On The Inside album. On Spotify and Grooveshark .. Also the track has been used in The Vampire Diaries Soundtrack.
It would be nice if people actually did this. I'm from Minneasota and growing up I was taught to be nice and curteous. Now, I live in California, I don't see the same kind of stuff I did in Minnesota. Here in Cali everyone gets mad at people when you get in their way and they expect everything handed to them on a silver platter. I don't see the reasoning for this.
Thank you for making this commercial, maybe someone will see it and learn from it. Too bad for you, I have esurance.
of course they can do right by thier customers the go after single moms that are low income and over charge them for accidents so thier customers get their fence repaired and money in thier pocket.
@aaahahanopeeeeeee We have had a lot of requests for this music- and are glad you like it! We will be sure to post on here if we decided to release the song on iTunes!
It would also be pretty obvious that the door was held open for her and that someone was being polite to her. Which is great... but surely she was capable to hold it open for someone else instead.
Just because someone has a white cane and is "blind" does not mean they are totally blind (only 10% of blind individuals are "total blind"). I'm legally blind and use a cane but with assistive technology am able to view this video. And of course she would know the door is open... seeing as how she didn't run into it, lol.
@ninrobin22ok well just saying the blind individual would never have known that the door was even held for her, uhhhhhhh dood think it out SHE NEVER WOULD HAVE KNOWN... IT WAS A GOOD DEED WITHOUT RECOGNITION
As a blind individual, I'm thrilled that they hired someone who was actually blind to do the part. But why couldn't the blind woman have held the door open for the other woman? That would have been a true full circle and would have shown her able to give help and not just recieve it. I'm still very happy with this commercial but would love to see the blind play more capable parts in the media.
I like the concept for this ad of doing the right thing. But I think the ad would be greatly improved if they had included the person with the visual impairment as being the provider of assistance and not just the receiver. Putting people with disabilities in the role of always needing the help of others does not promote empowerment, only pity. People with disabilities are capable and can provide service to others.
@MichelleBonati I understand your point and agree with it for the most part, but for the common person watching this, they aren't going to contemplate at the end of the ad "why didn't the disabled person help someone". Its known that someone ill/disabled needs extra help, which they show normally. I wouldn't go as far to say it "promotes pity" because the disabled person isn't servicing someone else.
Liberty Mutual doesn't give two shits about the people they insure and they're only looking out for their own pocketbooks. Remember that next time they put up a sappy commercial like this.
I Absolutely love this Add. I applaud liberty mutual for hiring an actual blind person for this. Way to go! Most companies hire abled body persons instead of giving the much needed job to a disabled person. Talk about doing the right thinng.
Its awful nice of Liberty Mutual to get thier customers a new car. One of thier customers hit me, totaled my car. now I'm stuck with no car unable to work. 30k + in Doctor bills and adding up. Electric, water, and phone all about to be shut off. Not to mention that I'm two months behind on rent and probably will be evicted soon.. Thanks for taking care of your customers Liberty Mutual.. Resposibility, LMAO !!!
0:53 lol my daughter is 5 and she'll hold the door for people...just because she wants too. Then we have to "pull" her from the door to just to leave. : )
I worked for Liberty Mutual in customer service for over 6 years, resigning thinking I could make more money in sales. Long story short, made a mistake and wish I had never left the company. Was making almost $20/hour with 5 weeks of flexible time off during the year and great insurance benefits. Just call me stupid.
While I like the first and last scenes, shot at LA's Union Station, why did both involve a sight-impaired person? Gives the impression that they wouldn't be able to navigate the station without the assistance of others.
This is a nice twist/update to LM's branding. Great song by an unassailably cool artist. Also slightly gutsy by allowing the chorus of the song to kick in w/ "Amen Omen"... A lot of companies might shy away from that part of the song or cut it out.
We watched this in science class today!

@xanthuos - So, you would stop and watch blind person or a young mom with baby and shopping bags open the door themselves, right?
The question is not wether they can do it or not, but wether you will chose to help or not.
