  • Fix the air leak in the windows. Those people sounded mighty glad to see you. Perhaps a little too glad. Are they mountain-dwelling cannibals?

  • En nuestro querido Uruguay se operaba de esta manera y mas corto sin pista marcada también.

  • the planes saying fffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu...

  • Holy smokes, that's crazy!! There is NO margin for error at all.

  • isn't that lukla

  • @leo3214226 Nope---Lukla is paved.

  • Nothing quite like flying straight at a mountain to gain altitude. Yikes!

  • Great video! My dad used to fly for MAF in Africa and he mostly flew the 185. Do you know who the pilot was in this video?

  • Idiots with the comment about a possible go around, obviously not a pilot. No go-around possible here, nice flying!

  • You could do a go-around there! You have enough space. Perform a spiral climb to the left. When you have 10.000 ft, go for another landing atttempt.

  • Respect to the Pilots of MAF

  • cest trop magnifique comme atterrissage et super precis, avec un piste aussi courte et un lieu jalonné de montagnes.Uper video ! Bravo cher pilote...

  • bit like Lukla airstrip in Nepal - but even scarier!

  • scary? no. Interesting. as always YES! i love this kind of flying.

  • finally ... the townsfolk get their ebay items!

  • @alSation81 hahaha

  • Wow. Respect for the pilots who regularly risk their lives for this work :]

  • at least the uphill shortens your ground roll :)

  • OMG! That's not a strip = it's a cricket pitch!

  • aparently you have never flown an airplane, it takes power to turn around, when your fully loaded...

  • Which way is Princess Juliana Airport???

  • great work, awesome scenery, i would love to fly for maf but i don't have the hours needed.

  • way to go..captain... great approach to landing, as always all MAF pilot did, you guys the best pilot...

  • what humanitarian organization is this? And why does it take so much on and off the throttle to turn the airplane around?

  • @skywagon5 Check Mission Aviation Fellowship at maf.org. This particular C185 is now on floats serving on the island of Kalimantan, Indonesia.

  • He could have did a go around. What do mean one way? Cool video.

  • The strip is at 5000' and the aircraft is a non turbo C185. The terrain around the runway climbs dramatically and once you are on late final you cannot climb faster than the terrain. Trust me - I was there

A one way strip means that there is only one direction available for landing and one for taking off

  • @toddjochapman That's a bad one, alright, but I have seen worse in PNG.

  • @toddjochapman whats that be beeping sound you hear when the planes over the runway threshhold?
