E aggiungo che a 2:41 non dice "e tu che senti?", ma "e tu cosa ridi?" .

e infine "ble ble sembran dei carri"

The BEST. Thorough, efficient, passionate, respectful, knowledgeable. Now that's how to rehearse! The outbursts of temper are just temperament, not personal, and they all knew it. Love the exchange with "Dolan"...that's Jimmy Dolan, the orchestra librarian..

@arthurkrieck Also, lol, Toscanini was very keen on not treating his orchestra as beginners. You probably already knew this, but many times did Toscanini scold guest conductors when he felt the guest conductor was speaking down to them. Notice (even here) while in rehearsals that Toscanini never stops his players more than twice and when he stops them, he simply tells them how it should sound, and they catch on. And it was for a reason, Toscanini was never wrong, not on one piece in his life!!!

@nephelais correcto - The Maestro, who has been coming to this country since 1908, speaks better English than most of us. Almost as great a linguist as he is a musician, he coaxes and curses his men in perfect, idiomatic French, German and Spanish as well as English and Italian.
